I was a member from 1997-2001 in college; however, the friends created remain my heart. I'm in Alabama. A couple of years ago about 2017, my roommate and discipler from those days took a road trip with her husband and children to visit me. We had the best of times and carried each other through the deaths of my father & her parents. Her and her descipler are the best of friends to this day as well.
One of the greatest moments of my life was joining the LCC between 1989 - 1993. I learned a lot, made a lot of friends and it was a source of tremendous inspiration for such an isolated and idealistic teenager as myself. In hindsight there were a lot of controversial teachings (not doctrine) in the church but after leaving, I won't say I have any regrets. The sermon by Tim Hoffman 'Zeal for your house will consume me', still has resonance. I was fortunate enough to be part of the Tape Ministry were I got to hear the back-catalogue of some pretty inspirational stuff.
