+Brickacron if you don't mind the diaclone predecessors of g1 transformers the "prime" cab of the diaclone toy that would be recolured and released as ultra Magnus is blue.☺
I really love the design of Devastator,I mean if something as big as him would have the body shape of a human it would've looked laughable I prefer Devastators design over the 80's version, sue me,I don't care.Altough those wrecking balls are incredibly stupid indeed.
Love Transformers, I have a full sleeve tattoo of G1 characters on my arm. I was quite impressed with the retelling storyline of the games "war for cybertron" and "fall of cybertron" ... they did much better than the Bay films
I've got the whole original comic series passed down from my dad, I love marvel comics, now that I've heard that spiderman and nick fury make appearances, I'm gonna read all of them!
all transformers, autobots and decepticons were created by the Quintesons and lived in slavery for many millenia until their rebelion against them and causing them to leave from Cybertron and make home to a rock that later named Quintessa. after the rebelion the Decepticons ruled on Cybertron and the Autobots were slaves until a civil war started between the two races. the Autobots had Alpha Trion to lead them and the Decepticons created Megatron until he fell by the hands of Optimus Prime. Unicron that appeared in the movie, he is the very first godlike transformer and the aspect of evil and Primus was the aspect of good who changed his body and transformed into Cybertron. as for Unicron, he roams in the Universe eating planets to earn more and more power, he created Galvatron from Megatron's malfucting remains and eventually destroyed by the Matrix of Leadership used by Hotrod, an Autobot who became their new leader named Rodimus Prime.
Giorgos Darkseid screw that origin there just robots, in the primeverse(aligned) they are a race that have no idea how they came to be(much like us) but it turns out that primus gave his spark to be the very life source of cybertron) and megatron is a gladiator turned politician
Giorgos Darkseid OMG!!!!!! You are so right!!!! This is the true story of the Transformers!!!! as a true 80's baby I grew up with this and all the toys and everything and what they did to the story of the new live action movie the last knight was So wrong So unforgivable!!! its like you can't even put it into words!!! Like why in the Hell did they mess with the story like that and did what they wanted to do with it when everyone especially people that grew up with it like me knows the story!!!!! You don't do stuff like that!!! that is a shame!!! that's like making a superman or batman movie and messing with the story and doing what you want with it!!!! That is wrong!!!! I don't care what nobody says!!! I can't believe the movie company let them do that!!!
You forgot to mention how good the series transformers prime is it actually adds like good heart and over arching story lines to each season and suchhhh good characters, every season makes you go WOAH multiple times, it's an incredible reimagining of the transformers and Optimus primes autobots on earth. I love every season finally, there all so good
Hands Down. Transformers (1986) animated film is the best Transformers movie, EVER! The movie was about the Transformers not the humans. Can't understand why people like Bay's garbage.
Bay's live-action films are very much about the Transformers. To create the live-action world that takes place, they have the setting on Earth.. where the story has revolved around humans being involved in the war going on between TF. I never understood why people think Bay tried to recreate G1 or something.. when all he (and evwryone else who has worked on the films) has done is given us live-action films.. furthering the TF universe as a whole. Beast Wars is very different than G1.. the many comics, mangas, television shows, etc.. have been very different than G1. G1 is G1 for a reason.. and that's okay.. it is what it is. It's something very special. However, I love G1.. and I also love Bay's live-action films. I appreciate the films for what they are (their own cinematic universe), I appreciate the stories and also, I appreciate and am grateful that they have worked as hard as they have on these films. You can bash Bay and company all you want to, but he didn't ruin anyone's childhood.. and hasn't ruined anything about the Transformers brand at all. He has simply added to it, and now it's more popular and has more to offer than ever before.
G1 was just to great. I love how each team just like you explained with the dino bots, had their own personality and were likeable in their own way. Like Motormaster who was prideful and really brutish, and his team that kinda feared him more than followed him. One of my faveroute episodes was Omega primes back story which gave him depth and a character arc that a lot of modern movies lack. What I really liked was the style and feel of the movie, it really reminds you of the 1990's X-men series that every x-men fan I know watched and loved. The 2 shows were just so perfect and well done, the style that they used was brilliant and the way their characters were developed should be a handbook to a lot of our shows and movies today.
I know what you're saying, but....Devastator was NOT in Revenge of the Fallen. That was a swirling shit-piece with the name, 'devastator' thrown on it.
I JUST found my Transformers Marvel comics collection. I think I'm only about 20 comics away from completing it. Ever since the early 90's I have reccuring dreams about finding that one comic book shop and going through all the comics I lost or missed (not many). I always get "this feeling" when I have that dream. Things feel fresh ,exciting and new again. no idea why. lol. All I'm doing is flipping through covers of the comics I lost or never had. I do this for hours.
Would be nice to have a more in depth look at the marvel G1 series... including the awesome Marvel UK stories. (The comic had a faster release schedule in the UK, so while waiting for US strips Marvel UK produced their own stand alone stories that crafted a lot of character depth).
I personally didn't mind the humans except Miko but I found the rest likeable and funny at times but still even Miko isn't as annoying as the bay human characters am I right or am I right
To be honest, I grew up watching Beast Wars, I loved it and I couldn't stand the Beast Machines series. I respect those who enjoy it, but it wasn't for me. The redesign on the Maximals was off putting to me. Oh and btw, Loved the Video +VariantComics
Great coverage of the Transformers. Great recommendations for reads. I would have liked even more coverage of the comics history, including what IDW is currently doing, but I know that is a lot. Maybe even just the various companies that did Transformers comics since there were a few. Loved Beast Wars. I grew up with G1, but still loved Beast Wars.
You know what would be a terrifying team up??The Homicidal duo of STAR SCREAM and THE JOKER!Both are extremely Homicidal and creepy as fuck when they both (in their respective shows)came back from the dead AND they cackle a lot too!
Arris! You so should do s history of the suicide squad! theyre so underrated and no one really give them the spotlight. and plus assault on arkham is coming soon so itd be amazing if you did that!
wow i feel all special u answered my comment. lol. i know this is typical fan crap but i actually have a Suicide squad page on facebook that ive been trying to get going. been a half of year of work due to me being busy. check it out and thx i cant wait to see your video! facebook.com/suicidesquad.fanpage?ref=hl&ref_type=bookmark
VariantComics this might have been said but i jus saw the video but wasnt there an episode of where they came in contact with the dormant autobots making them in earth or how did that work out
The unicron Trilogy is a stemmed universe from Dreamwave's War Within comic ( it is how I map my transformers Universes) which Sprouted from the Regeneration 1, which is part of the Marvel Transformers comics, which sprouted from the Marvel Comics multiverse.
If taken as canon, the Beast Wars and Beast Machines, actually chronicles the last chapter of current TRANSFORMER history, and Beast Machines ends with Optimus Primal and Megatron destroying each other. While never actually explained it is very clear in Beast Wars that their story actually started hundreds of thousand, maybe millions of years after G1 Transformers. Thus they had no experience with humans or Earth, otherwise they would have had some knowledge that they were on Earth just far in its past, just as Humans were starting to evolve. That was actually covered, where Megatron was going to kill the first obvious ancestors of Humanity to prevent Humans from aided the Autobots in the future. Anyway at the end, the Cybertronians are no longer purely mechanical, that lineage died with Megatron, and are "technorganic", a seamless combination of mechanical and biological systems.
As a 80s kid, a Transformers collector and an avid fan. You summed this up perfectly. You got the gist out and all the fact. I never comment on your channel but awesome freaking post!!!
Fun fact, beast wars does take place on earth. They time traveled through some kind of black hole. Somewhere along the episodes, they found the autobot's and decepticon's base where everyone was in stasis. Beast machines took place back on their home planet, cybertron.
The G1 line was way cool up until 1987 or so when they started introducing Targetmaster and Headmaster robots, which was when I lost interest. That was when the G1 line started getting ridiculous and too futuristic in their designs. The whole notion of a Headmaster not being a complete robot until another robot transformed into its head just seemed silly to me.
"Too futuristic" at the time figures were bigger, and gimmicks weren't as bad impacting the figure thats the opposite of some of todays figures ya know plus headmasters really wasn't a bad concept plus their was an concept where a tiny robot would pilot the bot in vehicle mode which you could take out of the figure put you had to keep the small figure in the bots vehicle form for transformation so that it was able to transform not complicated ey?
seems like after the movie things went downhill, i mean I had all transformers even piranhacon but I mean damn look at sixshot love him he didn't even come with directions and even his gun quickswitch transformed into 6 things
I really wish people would get it right with the whole subgroup naming.... THE DINOBOTS ARE NOT CALLED DINOBOTS BECAUSE THEY ARE DINOSAUR-ROTS, THEY ARE DINOSAUR-ALTERNATE MODE AUTOBOTS. SIMILAR TO PROTECTOBOTS. EMERGENCY/MEDICAL THEMED ALTERNATE MODE AUTOBOTS.
WARNING SPOLIERS : The movie age of extinction was amazing the Dino bots are gigantic in robot form only dislike was that lockdown did not use his hook at all in battle. And I'm sad that rachet died and not surprised that galvatron (megatron) is in it. In it the new auto bots are amazing like drift who is a samuri transformer who can transform in to a Bugatti and a helicopter gunship. Can u believe that rachet died from humans with the help of lockdown! But what I wonder is what happend to the key of leadership. Story summary: Ok so here is how it goes basically the government is hunting down all transformers deceptions and auto bots with the help of lockdown and his men. There are only 5 auto bots left and only two of them are left from the original group Prime and Bee. So all those other auto bots that u saw in the 3rd movie are now all gone. They don't explain what happend to Shia but who really cares. Anyway lockdown just wants optimas to lock up in his trophy room with guess who the dinobots. And in return lockdown will give the humans a Seed which is a bomb which when activated kills everything in an atomic radius to "transformium" which is what the transformers are made of so the government wants to make their own army of transformers unfortunately like the idiots that they are to get the info for these stuff they use megatrons head to get the info and so his mind is uploded on to galvatrons body and so boom boom slow motion after slow motion optimas slices lockdown in. Half the auto bots defeat the army of 50 man made deceptions but galvatron gets away. So until the next movie yeah also message to Aris dude ur awesome thanks to you I know so much about comics and stuff so yeah just wanted to tell u that anyway sorry for the long message but yeah bye! Also they plan to make 2 more movies with mark walburg.
You need to edit this video to add the All Hail Megatron series to the reading recommendations segment, because that run/series has one of the best story arcs ever!!! And some really awesome artwork too....
The quintizons built the transformers as slaves and the autobots and deceptions rebelled starting a civil war mate u where not even born then u look about 21 the first movie was 1984 if I'm Wright stick to ur comic books u were well out on the gen 1 facts of the animated series I'm 37 and watched it religiously as a child I think u have gone by the comic books not the TVs series's facts at all fair enough they are both very different and the last movie sucked age of extinction I got so worked up thinking maybe they would re master the original movie which would of been amazing ok maybe it was not that bad but I was disappointed I wanted unicron to drop into the mix in age of extinction but they didn't so it ruined my child hood memories of the original movie who agrees fair enough this chap has taken time to do this but facts are facts for a reason don't get the 2 mixed up like the comic is different to the series that was aired on tv as is the other 3 movies after the animated movie so I can see why he got things abit wrong I'm 37 and have some great transformer toys but they are mostly gen 1 and a few TRA pieces
You forgot to mention that he G1 cartoon continued inJapan in 3 more seasons, Headmasters , Masterforce and Victory wich in my opinion are the best part of all G1 cartoon for a series of reasons: continuity, character introduction and development, drawings and storyline
beast wars broke its own continuity all the time, it supposedly starts during the hibernation of all the G1 characters yet starscream's ghost shows up and possesses waspinator and talks about all the events of G1, that hasn't happened yet.
Also, play the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron video games on PS3, Xbox 360, or PC. It's a very similar story to G1's origins, and the gameplay is great.
Actually Microman was more or less based on GI Joe. Takara brought the original "big" GI Joes of the previous generation into Japan, and when the popularity started to wane, instead of giving the line a rest for a while like Hasbro did in America until they relaunched the Real American Hero line us 80's kids grew up with, instead of doing that, Takara kept things going in a spinoff with a more scifi bent called Henshin Cyborg. Microman was a smaller version of that line, and Microchange and Diaclone were spinoffs. Microman was brought to the US in the 70's by Mego as the Micronauts, which had it's own long running Marvel comic, while three Diaclone figures were brought out in the US by Takara themselves as Diakron about a year before they made the deal with Hasbro which saw the very same toys and others from Diaclone and Microchange become the original line of Transformers. And wow, that's a lot longer than I meant, but you can see, Transformers are a spinoff of a spinoff of a spinoff that all goes back to GI Joe, so I guess it's fitting all the times the two franchises have crossed over.
for some reason unknown to me, Beast Wars in Canada was called Beasties. Also Reboot and Beasties were done by Mainframe entertainment so theres the connection :) keep up that great work. cheers
I just finished finished watching the last season and movie of Transformers Prime, which was AMAZING! But it's interesting to see the how the original story is different, and how things have changed
Netflix took off the original G1 series and Beast Wars. They only left the crappy Rescue Bots, Beast Hunters, Prime, and Age of Extinction :( Really wish they would add Armada and Cybertron.
If you think about it, it's Optimus's fault that Cybertron died, because Megatron offered for a truce and said they would split the Energon supply 50/50 and Optimus said no!
Actually the Megazord debut was way before Transformer started because in Japan Super Sentai which is Japanese Power Ranger started the Megazord theme in 1979 with Battle fever which is taken from Japanese Spiderman giant robot which is a collaboration with Toei and Marvel along with three Super Sentai which are called Battle Fever J, Sun Vulcan and Denjiman
Dude! You barely talked about IDW! IDW's More Than Meets the Eye is hands down the best Transformers comic series ever made, and it's also one of the best comics around, period.
Dollarshaveclub wouldn't work in the UK since we have loads of types of razors (can cost from £1 to £200) and they are just put on shelves like toothbrushes not locked away.
Read all three volumes of War Within even though it's unfinished because Dreamwave went broke before they could finish it. Also Read the Dreamwave G1 series all three volumes and all the IDW Transformers books.
This is a good history of Transformers in U.S. The coverage would be more complete if it covers the numerous Japanese series; at least one of them was broadcast in U.S. after 2000.
