Othais, Mae, and other C&Rsenal viewers, In the church scene in the first act of 'The Harder They Fall,' Nat Love is shown removing the spent casings from his revolver using an ejector rod. I didn't catch this upon first viewing but did in my second and I owe this to the revolver episodes of the Primer series. Mae's shot pattern with the Swedish Nagant looks like a leaning Christmas tree.

Some notes: A longer time ago, in a german arms magazine i read , that swedish revolver was used up to 1950s, may be early 1960s. According to those article, last users had been postal service and lighthouse service, some few guns had been changed for use of 7,65/.32 ACP, which was from 1920s to 1980s a common cartridge. In german language countries the word ,Landsturm' was also known, and in Switzerland used up to 1990s. In 19th/early 20th century this Landsturm was used for the units formed of properly trained, but elderly reserve soldiers. When wwl started, the Landsturm units had been not intended for full frontline service, only fighting enemy breakthroughs, their job was doing military work in rearline, away from front, which is underrated, but very important. As longer wwl lasted, also untrsined men came to army and got shortened military training, the older ones came to Landsturm, also men of younger age , when not realy fit for frontline service ( after accidents, war injuries or with health problems etc.) In 17th/ 18th centuries Germany, the armies consisted of professional soldiers, but there hat been still relicts of medieval/ tribal age levies (Aufgebote). In few cases not so well trained and equiped, but usefull militias, sometimes a mix of target shooters society, tradition keepers and police, but mostly units, badly trained and with dated weaponry. Such units could be used as guards, escorts, armed workers, may be to man field fortifications to defend a narrow valley. Landsturm is used as umbrella term for such low quality levies of 17th/ 18th century.

.32 ACP makes a ton of sense in that instance. A super common police type caliber in many European countries for a long time. Also, a huge amount of pocket pistols were made in that caliber, so ammo had to be reasonably available and cheap. Semi-rimmed, so you don't need to use moon clips.

uhhh, the russian nagants kind of because of the gas seal, but that is a different gun than any on this video, and really the gas seal mechanism is pointless and just makes it more prone to breakdowns. idk why the russians thought a gas seal was worthy of a service revolver. overhyped because "neat" like many a gun

Mandatory Comment to help engagement stats. Also, I got some Ballistol one time on this channels recommendation. It seems to work just fine i guess! seems to crystalize when in excess, but that's an easy fix to remove, and just dont gunk it on like I tend to. Smells to high heaven, which I didn't expect when I first got it and it honestly freaked me out, but its not a terrible smell. But very pungent. I didn't think I would get it again, but if they sponsoring mom n dad, then I guess i gotta support em! Not that big a deal.

Primer 003 is from July 2015, so considering that there's two redone episodes that used to be before that we're just shy of 6 1/2 years of C&Rsenal. Gonna have to give us at least 6 months worth of curious ol' gats before you're allowed to toss in the towel. ... Also as someone with anxiety, I'm fine remembering that I want to see a modern materials Nagant-lockwork revolver with a swing-out cylinder more than whatever childhood memory still gives me second-hand embarrassment.

This platform doesn't allow them to really talk about reloads much, but Utreon does, and Othias has talked on the podcast about getting his reloading people to start doing more stuff over there.
