The museum's origin goes back to the early 1950s and the efforts of two collectors: Paul Harvey and John Wilcox. As their collections grew, significant pieces were gathered in a series of buildings in Coolspring, Pennsylvania.
Through the years, and with the help and encouragement of many other individuals, this collection became the Coolspring Power Museum. The museum was formally chartered in June 1985 as a registered, tax exempt, nonprofit, corporation. During the years since the founding, membership has grown steadily. So has the collection housed at Coolspring. Many other engine enthusiasts have placed significant pieces at Coolspring for display. The grounds, as well as semi-annual shows, have expanded with visitors from Maine to California, as well as from Canada, England, and other countries.
The Coolspring Collection of historic internal combustion stationary gas engines is the largest, mechanically most interesting, and historically significant in the entire country.
The Fall Exposition & Swap Meet brings together engine exhibitors and enthusiasts for three days of engine runs, technical discussions, and a bit of swapping and shopping. The event occurred on October 19, 20, and 21, 2023.

Nice video! Cloudy days sure make for nice even lighting for video (too bad about the rain, tho). I'm sure glad you lingered on the Stover KE engine at 19:10. I have one exactly like it, (early style magneto trip mechanism with disc flywheels), but it doesn't have a crank cover. I just bought a cover identical to the one in the video even though I wasn't really sure if it was correct for that year of Stover KE... but there it is in your video, sitting on my exact engine. Ya-hoo! 👍

When those engines are under load there a lot louder - I live in the rural deep south - Into. The early 80s some of the larger 25 HP engines were still being used for mills or water pumps during drought - The grid have the power to run larger electric motors - I have a old GW oil engine that drives a generator that I use after hurricanes and.ice storms - ice and snow knocks our power out - Sense it only runs at 500 RPMs there is a little flicker in the lights - My power has been out for a yr at times - A modern gas generator uses 1 gallon of gas per 3000 watts of power used - My old oil engine uses 1 gallon of used motor oil per 22000 watts of used power - that's at 500 RPMs 800 watts
