*And other assorted vehicles. Wall-to-wall bus and vehicle ownage for the greatest trope of all time. For full list of film/tv clips used, click here: www.pajiba.com/guides/hit-by-a...
ThatRandomDude Bus driver: Whoa, there's someone standing in the middle of the street way up there! I should hit the breaks! ... ... ... ... *_Never actually tries to stop_* WHAM *_Now they hit the breaks_*
If the bus just keeps on going after it smacks the person, it's usually from a comedy. Some of these are unintentionally hilarious when they're taken out of context of the movie, though.
The lines between tragic dramas and comedies are hard to tell. Modern films and tv really nail with situations like this. Especially the horror/ horror comedy film (Final Destination (any of them) and one of the Chucky Films).
That happened at high school. A kid was injured during a footy game and another idiot ran in front of the ambulance as it drove onto the field. It left with both kids who fortunately weren’t badly hurt.
I love how a bus/car/semi hit scene encapsulates the whole spirit of a movie or a series, even when they are meant to be an out of nowhere event. It's almost as if you could judge an entire work only by its bus hit.
It is when the end of a story or movie something happens unexpectedly as an unknown character appears at the last moment to fix everything or hit by a bus antagonist Fixing all.
So ridiculous yet somewhat funny. One thing I always notice is that they use a truck horn instead of a normal horn, they slam on the brakes AFTER they hit the person, and I usually hear some sort of Detroit Diesel 8V71N engine most of the time. By the way, the bus at 0:50 was Ex-SamTrans 333, a 1980 Flyer D900!
I thought sips loved buses from the amount of effort he has spent on making his bus system work perfectly in Sips City and San Fransipsco, but now this is actually proof that he loves buses, and driving them recklessly
I dunno.. I always loved the BRIDE OF CHUCKY one. That one had me gasping in the movie theater when I first saw it. COMPLETELY took me by surprise. My friends and I actually applauded.
wow...when I read the title, literally 2 scenes came to my mind... those were scene #3 and #4 :D at least I didn't have to wonder for long if they're in the compilation or not... :D
Let this be a reminder to all would-be jaywalkers. Only cross roadways at intersections and at designated crosswalks. Also, always look both ways before crossing the road! Also, bus drivers, thank you for your contributions to the process of natural selection! We salute you!
