Founded by Max Quinn, the store specializes in 90s vintage clothing and accessories. Despite opening just before the onset of the global pandemic, Quinn’s business has not only survived but flourished, expanding to a second location in Cleveland Heights.
“We are a buy-sell-trade store that focuses on 90s vintage apparel and accessories,” Quinn explained. The shop’s mission is to provide affordable, unique vintage clothing while also contributing to sustainability by saving stylish items from ending up in landfills. Uncover Vintage offers a range of rare finds, including shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, and pants that are difficult to come by, creating a distinctive shopping experience for its customers.
During the pandemic, Quinn used the downtime to his advantage, building out the store and preparing for its opening. His hard work allowed Uncover Vintage to emerge stronger in the competitive retail landscape. Reflecting on the challenges faced, Quinn noted, "Sometimes it’s challenging trying to get our name out there and getting more people to find out about our business and our storefronts and getting people to stop in and visit."
The store’s clientele primarily consists of young adults aged 18 to 30, many of whom are drawn to the increasing trend of sustainable fashion. “More and more people are getting into sustainable fashion and vintage clothes, so more people are starting to come and shop with us,” Quinn said. Uncover Vintage caters to this audience through active promotion on social media platforms, where they connect with their followers and keep them informed about new arrivals and special events.
This weekend, Uncover Vintage will host a special Cleveland Browns merchandise drop at its Lakewood location on Saturday, August 24, at 12 p.m. The store will feature over 500 vintage Cleveland Browns items, including shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, hats, and collectibles. Fans of the Browns and vintage fashion alike will have the chance to explore a curated collection of unique pieces. The event is also set to include an exclusive online drop, with more details to be shared through Uncover Vintage’s social media channels in the coming days.
