I've had the ma2 version of this nailer since it came out years ago. Die hard, never jams, never fails, outlasted many cordless mailers. One of the tools Hitachi never cheapened.
I’ve had this nail gun (first gen)For about 15 years, It’s bomb proof, I have gone through one Senco stapler, Senco 23gauge and 2 grex green buddies in that time And this nail gun is still running strong!
I've had this nailer for about 2 yrs. Never had any problems out of it. I use it for hardie brand trim as that is what hardie calls for in their literature (15g). No issues. Would buy it again without hesitation. Add one of those generic aluminum rafter hooks and you have perfection.
My partner and I both have this gun (or an older version) and they are the best. These things are bomb proof. The all metal construction means you can drop them off a roof onto concrete and they continue to work perfectly. As for the lack of a hook, we added an aftermarket one for $5
I just purchased two Metabo nailers Saturday 4/9/22 at Lowe’s on sale. A brad nailer and a Metabo pro narrow crown stapler both included a cases to protect my investment. They are both light weight and comfortable to use. Both have depth adjustments. Neither have tool hooks which I’m not fond of, but the cost was reasonable because of the quality of the tools.
I’ve only ever used 15 angled mostly senco my whole life or 25 yrs in trades mostly doing high end interior trim & exterior trim. I pin inside of Adams casing with 18g. & 15g in the beefy part. I like the DA style nail as it has a real nail head instead of square crap so it’s a cleaner set with proud nails. I guess everyone has their own preferences. Love the review. I’ve been looking more in hitachi as Senco lately I am less than thrilled with. I have been using the Dewalt 15g for about 6 months can get used to the tip . Surprised there’s not a no mar pad on this hitachi as it looks like the exact same nosing
My favorite part of this gun is that after a day of running base as a commercial carpenter, I can blow off my pants before getting into my truck. Lol. The drywall dust is horrible in these condo/apartment buildings.
Have one. LOVE it. Almost all, if not all, of the cordless nailers in the word have hooks on them. For the love of all things holy, why cant tool manufacturers put hooks on pneumatics?
Hey thanks! I'm a Finish carpenter here, and we have like 6 of those guns. They're durable and we love the blower on it! We actually installed a hook on one of them but it is very bulky setup I did not like it, it was one of those ones the Siders use and connects at the hose fitting
Hey concord carpenter if you go to home depot and look in the air hose accessories they sell husky gun hooks that you mount to pneumatic air guns that don’t have hooks by taking off the air collet and putting back on around the hook. Make sure you use pipe thread sealant when you put the air collet back on though to prevent air leaks
Good video, thanks. Personally, I don't like blowing dust away as all you are doing is blowing it further down or from one side of the room to the other. It also takes ages to settle down, and you end up breathing it in. It's much better to just suck it up with a vacuum.
good guns for sure, ive got multiple of the hikoki ones , the only thing im not a fan of is the the lack of belt hook , its annoying having to set the gun down on the floor or somewhere everytime say like im trying to glue up my mitre joins or something if this gun came with a belt hook, i wouldnt be able to fault it
I use the bostitch smart point 18 and 16 gage finish nailer... Because of the shape of the nose you can angle nail and its juste amazing... Also with yhe 16 gage you can angle nail in hard wood floor without the need of punching your nail when you are close to the wall
I love this nail gun. I've had it for some time now and I just got it out again after sitting for a while. Every other time I pull the trigger today I only end up with a dent and no nail. Suggestions?
Just came across this while doing research for first time on finishing nailers. Review and examples are great, only feedback is either keep Phone muted while recording or control set so you dont have random music suddenly blairing and making it very distracting...not sure why you didnt just re-record and clean up..seems unprofessional to me. Like showcasing our work and you have scaring and scratching on the woodwork you present for payment... you just dont do that.
What causes the spark when driving the nails at minute 5:33 ? I have the same nailer and used it for the first time and had the same sparks and was wondering if that is normal or abnormal.
i have a ridgid 15 gauge nailer and like it i almost bought this one but went with the ridgid. i have use the hitachi brad nailer don't like that one it is loud
I get it that the next generation of tools and carpenters are just now starting to take over but the fact is there is no need to even have a compressor anymore. These tools are obsolete. Dewalt 15g 16g and 18g xr cordless. Haven’t used a compressor at all whatsoever except on the rare occasion I need it for super money trim, 23g pin. Only when I’m out of ca glue.
I agree cordless has made amazing inroads. We still use cords for large scale projects. Mostly because we haven't found a brad nailer or pinner we love. There coming though! Hitachi has a real nice pinner coming soon
A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz I think it’s real cool that you took the time to read and reply. I wish dewalt would make 12v brushless pin nailer. I’ve tried the makita pin nailer and it doesn’t set the longer (over 1”) pins in hard woods. An unfortunate discovery, defeating the purpose of a pin gun when u have to use a nail set. In my opinion, the day a pin gun is released that actually does its job even 95% of the time, by whatever company or brand, is the day the compressor gets taken out of the truck. Thanks for making all these videos. I appreciate the info. I appreciate u and your team.
Ummm cordless tools don’t yet come close to phnumatic. Firstly cordless framers are way to heavy. Hard to hold overhead, on a roof, or on your belt while your straddling a joist or rafters. And the 18 gauge and 15 gauge cordless jam more often and shoot to slow and I hate buying big batteries that cost more than a hundred dollars. When we are installing roofing sheathing we chalk line the joist then shoot nails up and down every 6 inches. We are commonly shooting multiple nails a second and cordless can’t keep up yet. In my opinion.
