Oh gods watching this, and the original by Yorushika, has got me absolutely hooked on the very specific niche of "Sad japanese songs related to this current generation growing up and reaching adulthood aroudn now and finding absolutely jack shit in ways of options or a path forwards, despite the expectations that we GET there still remaining as firmly in place as ever."
Ohh, I thought it was about how people are obsessed with money and will ruin even the beauty of nature with it. The original version makes more sense now lol
Whenever I get like that, I just think about what my present self would be like without the past that I lived through. "Not great" is the conclusion I usually come to. The more significant the past is, the more it amplifies the significance of your present life. That keeps me going.
I always find it amazing that people find a way to translate Japanese songs in such a way that in doesn't completely loose it's meaning in English. For this song in particular, I always look forward to the part with the money and happiness because it's such a thing that's open to interpretation that you can be creative on how you describe how they co-relate. This cover is just so amazing and the animation is getting so much better!
Shoutouts to the peeps bawling their eyes out while typing "AAAAAAAA" in chat you know who you are ;) Absolutely perfect cover, Rachie, well done! 😭😍❤️✨
As someone from the live chat, this made me cry so much haha. Thank you rachie! Your lyrics mean so much to me. Your art also didn't seem rushed, they looked so awesome and pretty. I hope you feel like this was amazing work, you deserve to! Also so many holes lol...
Finally 🎉🎉🎉. I remembered that i ever asked you for singing this in your Livestream a year ago. You read it aloud. Now, this will become my another favourite cover 💞
Whooo, this chokes me up. I love how the backgrounds and lyrics were changed, even only slightly. It makes it more personalised in a way, as if this really is someone's personal views and their questions in the most raw and honest way. A lovely cover, your voice always does Yorushika songs justice
Wow, rachie! I love the emotion in the original versions of Yorushika's songs, and your singing always reproduces those emotions beautifully. Thank you for another outstanding cover!!
I am so utterly love with this. Normally, when I'm used to hearing a version of a song, other covers feel a little off, but this just feels so natural/regular. It might not sound like much, but I'm honestly incredibly impressed. And sick AF MV. :D #PatreonSquad #SubSquad
i wanna give my appreciation for the way this was translated, so many english versions of non-english songs put stress on the wrong part of the word, it ends up sounding weird, and like a translation, but here the only real example of that i can think of is the way the stress is placed on the "ing" of "feeling" and the "mer" of "summer" other than that, chef kisses all around
Thank you for covering this song! This is one of my favourites. I’m having a really bad time right now regarding how burnt out I am and my uncertain future so I relate even more to these lyrics now. Again, thank you for covering and I look forward to getting it on Spotify and your future covers.
I like the parallels from this video and the original one. From the position changes to the character in the original video was waiting at the top of the stairs, rachie's character was waiting at the bottom in this video props to you for the beautiful cover and video, rachie!
oh my god? i think this might be my new favourite version of this song? the lyrics are so harsh and relatable and i fucking love it! it captures the original meaning of the song, but even harder and with more detail and ugh its amazing - honestly, it all hits too close to home, (almost cried lol) and your vocals really bring them out! i love it!
this is such a beautiful, beautiful version. i have always loved the lyrics rachie writes and how they make sure to hit the heart just the original lyrics did without altering the meaning.
YOOOO! This is by far my fav Yorushika song and you did it so much justice! Vocals on point and full of energy, a beautiful rendition of the MV and, most impressive to me, perfectly translated lyrics. Seriously, be proud, this is stellar.
This is my favorite song from Yorushika, and I think this is my favorite I've stumbled across so far. The lyrics hit much harder, it's really good! Thanks for another great cover :))
I've been listening to this song for so long, I'm so glad you did a cover on it splendiferachie! It sounds absolutely amazing and the lyrics are so well translated.
“It’s not like I don’t want to live another day, I just wanna live without any pain” I can relate. Sometimes you just want to end the pain, but not by dying. You just want even just a day without pain.
I think it just fits in the subject of the song better. But in Japanese sensei is used for anyone you kinda turn to for knowledge. For example, a doctor in Japan would also be a sensei and a counselor would also be called sensei
It just fit better, you don’t call teacher by “teacher” in English but you do call a counsellor by just that. Also I thought a counsellor is someone you go to for advice on life and stuff anyway, like a school counsellor?
@@rachie I see, that makes a lot of sense lol it sounded a bit awkward in the beginning, since these lyrics are much more aggressive sounding compared to the original thanks for your response!
Maybe it depends on the culture I suppose I'm Vietnamese then yeah,I am not so good to know both English and Japanese stuffs much But I learn both of these languages at the same time
I can appreciate that every cover this woman puts out succeed in getting the point across at the original song tried to make I don't think there's any other person that does English covers that can do that
My friend you have done so much. Keep on bringing these powerful emotions to life, it's time someone did. I don't care if you never get enough praise for your services, because if anyone is willing to do it regardless it is you alone. I love you and all that you do, and I'm sorry it isn't always apparent that the world itself does because it should be. Again, thank you and keep making this type of beauty. The rest of the world is afraid to do so, you really are a hero
At certain lines I just had to pause and stare off into space in thought. As someone finishing up with school I feel pretty directionless when thinking about what I’m supposed to do with the rest of my life. This is a great cover and I bet it struck a chord with many people in my situation. I really enjoy the inflections of your voice. Now I’m off to see what other great songs have been hiding from me here.
