I like Hither Hills for the natural feel of camping on the beach. There are many campgrounds on Long Island most are out east, the next RV Camp I visit will be in Lido Beach , more of a city beach , and much closer to home for me. thanks for watching

Thanks for visiting, Long Island has the nicest white sand beaches in the world, My opinion of coarse, in Montauk the natural beauty, really is the star of the show, on the western half of the Island the boardwalk and buildings offer a more traditional beach experience , as long as I'm out in the fresh air and sunshine I'm happy. I have a few days booked next autumn, its difficult to get a spot in mid summer, Hither Hills is a very popular camp on the east end . Too bad about the ban on dogs.

Yes its a bummer about the pet policy, people ruin things by not taking care of there dogs. Rather than policing the criminals ,they punish the innocent dog owners who are being responsible. I believe Montauk has the oldest working cattle ranch in the US. The Deep Hollow Ranch, established 1658, The camp is an amazing place to relax and soak up some sun. Thanks for watching

I agree its a bit pricy, but when compared to a $200-$300/ night hotel room it's a bargain, there aren't too many natural Ocean beaches, like this one, out there. With my taxes I'm sure I pay more than any out of staters visiting .I hope you have a great weekend 👍

Next episode Camp Nickerson at Lido Beach, I used to camp with the Airstream there and they allow dogs, they even have a dog run. Hither Hills is worth a look especially if you live here, a natural ocean beach is rare to find, its a shame people ruin a good thing by not caring for their pets, its hard to find a beach where I can walk my dog, and Im on an Island surrounded with beaches. My troop camped at Orient point once ,on the North Fork, the hiking and fishing are worth going for, its not back woods camping, but it could be fun for a few weekdays, I would avoid the weekends in season, thanks for watching

Hello, thank you for the question. I didn't see any height restrictions on my last visit to Hither hills. Be sure to check with the campground, before you go.
