HH, you asked in this adventure and last, about "Why they painted the walls white". I would think, during low lighting, the soldiers would be able to see and focus on the instruments and their duties better. Also, it has a calming effect.

Now that control bunker was something very special. LOVED the original writing still there for the rooms!!! Plus all the electronics that they had there, still outlined; absolutely stunning and amazing. Pretty nice overall indeed. Thanks EE for your labeling of that one area. Thanks for taking us. Enjoyed it. Take care

That first bunker was fascinating. Obviously never finished, but it was really interesting to see the formwork for the hinge points still in place. That's something rare in itself. But the Firing Control Bunker, was the best. Seeing the original warnings still there, is always amazing. After so many years of neglect, they still look like they were almost done yesterday. Seeing all those connections, and wiring points, and equipment points, really gives you a good idea of how important that control bunker was. And a prime target for Allied attacks. Thank you guys for sharing this amazing location! Cheers to you both! Stay Safe!

EE once again leading the way. Wouldn't it have been something to see the iconic firing control bunker still fully equipped and all the guns still in position. Yes, do be careful on the ice. A head injury or broken bone is all you need. 😮 So much to see there. Thanks for taking us along EE & HH. ❤

What an iconic looking location!! It is amazing to see that German writing has survived all these years untouched!! Another truly fascinating location! Just to think of the power and control these soldiers had of that coastline is somewhat frightening. They were the ones who decided the fate of many ships that passed by. What a fantastic location, keep up the good work, my friend!😊

Extremely rare to see original WW2 German writing on the walls never mind being still legible. Also good to see that there hasn't been any vandalism. That iconic Firing Control Bunker was magnificent. I can't say that I have seen it any war movie as I haven't watched many Hollywood WW2 movies as they seem very one sided or slanted. My choice. As always very well constructed and designed, and advanced for that era. Thank you so much for taking us there. You always give us straight history with just the facts and it is appreciated. Thank you HH & EE. Stay safe. ❤❤

If you get the chance, seeing the Ostwall bunkers is worth the time. They are early designs that predate the regelbau and are more like the Maginot line. Many of them were destroyed by the Soviets on their way through to Berlin, but at least one is fully restored to its original condition. In fact, you can even get down to the rail tunnels where there are some unbelievably interesting things.

Hi HH & EE, They could build bunkers, that's where the expression "bunker hard" comes from. It's cold, I can tell by the ice on the floor. The text on the walls clearly reflects the function of the bunker.

I was just thinking about how pointless this massive investment in the Atlantic wall was. In the end, it did not help them in winning the war. In fact, this huge expenditure might prevented them from investing elsewhere. I guess that was a good thing.
