The merit brow pencil is the FIRST brow pencil that I have ever loved. I immediately knew it will be a forever re-purchase for me. Ginger looks soooo good. ✨
Well whew, Cate - I was holding my breath over which product was the disappointment and hoping it wasn't one of the Merit ones! Everything looks so lovely on you, but it always does! I've been holding off buying Ginger until you tried it and I am so interested now. I'm also the brow-aholic, owning every brow product ever made, so that pencil is calling to me. Thanks for this vid! Btw, I do love how the Lys powder looks vs this RB one - does the RB "feel" heavy on?
The Jones Road "Blonder" is my favorite however have you noticed how fast you hit pan on it. Years ago I would use the Bobbi Brown Bronzer and it would take me about 2 years to hit pan and with the Jones Road it takes about 6 weeks! Also the It cosmetic pressed powder, BAM...1 month and I hit pan. Believe it or not I'm not heavy with my products. Products are packed very soft, I guess so we do go through them fast.
I swatched the Rare Beauty powders in store today and they feel interesting to the touch so I was excited to see your review pop up. I normally don't mind tinted powders, but these seem to run a little dark and have real tint. I had to check that they weren't meant to be powder foundation. Still painfully curious--a downfall of my personality--but less likely to try it after this.
Hey Cate, also - quick question - not on the pro-choice list, but Phytosurgence? Super small indie Canadian brand, LGBTQIA+/Asian owned, bomb products though not a ton of them. They have this statement on their website FAQ page: "We do not have any direct or ongoing relationships with charities. However, when and where we can, we try to support causes that resonate with us. In the past, we have donated to charities that support LGBTQ+ folk, indigenous peoples of Canada, anti-AAPI hate, safe access & protection of reproductive healthcare, and animal shelters/wildlife protection. This is of course not an exhaustive list of the things that matter to us."
Phytosurgence is not on the prochoice list. They don’t have enough posted about their stance for the public to see, and when I asked the owner directly if they were willing to post something more visible to let people know about their stance, they told me that they were not willing to do that (as they think it’s performative) and they’re fine with not being on the prochoice list.
@@catethegreatbeauty Awww. I'm sad about that, especially b/c it seems they are for sure pro-choice. Sigh. Thanks for doing the work to find out though.
But that’s just the thing. If a brand is prochoice, but unwilling to make a statement supporting that to their consumer base, how Prochoice really is that? That’s what my entire list is based on. Being vocal about abortion rights. And I want to be very clear- you should use whatever brand *you* want to use. I’m simply telling you the reasons why they’re not on my Prochoice list. First and foremost, because they themselves weren’t interested and made that very clear. Which is fine, but that in itself says all I need to know about a brand.
@@catethegreatbeauty Oh I totally understand and I actually agree 100% with questioning a brand who says they are pro-choice, but won't be truly vocal about it. I guess I was just surprised that they *wouldn't* be, which is what disappointed me. I still own products from brands not on the list, but since knowing who is - and who is decidedly not - pro-choice, I am committed to make my own better (& more informed) choices by supporting those who are both loud and proud about it. I appreciate all of your work around this vitally important issue, Cate. Truly I do.
I actually returned the Rare Beauty powder. 🫢 like you said, not that it’s absolutely awful, but it just isn’t that impressive. And for $30, I just didn’t feel like keeping it if I didn’t absolutely love it. Your look is STUN NING today! 👌
