i remember as a person who has played rugby for atleast 8 years when i was younger is that a 120 pound teen can take down a 200 + pound teen. depending on speed ,impact and positioning of the tackle, go for the legs at 15mph and youve got your self a wrecking ball hitting the floor. rugby is a great sport, teaches you respect, conditioning and bravery

When I was working in Manchester, I stayed in a place called Lowton near Warrington, just over the road from the digs was a pub, and one of the barmaids there was an absolute beauty mind, or lads, she was gorgeous, and she played rugby, so I rocked in from work, went to the bar and asked her for a beer, when she was serving me I was like "Have you had a good day H?", she was like "Yeah, been okay, apart from I broke my friends leg at rugby practice"! :D lol She was a good'un mind :D

You can't tackle above the shoulders in rugby so the hair pull was out of order. As for the hand in the face, in men's rugby that would most likely have caused a brawl or a scuffle at least.

Some of these are old clips, a lot of those moves and tackles are illegal now, particularly where a girl was up ended and literally hit the ground head first. The girls game is as tough as the mens game and they’re freaking fearless

As a male, weekly rugby at English schools was brutal and bloody. Any weather, snow or ice. Sadly my growth spurt came late, so I was obliterated by the Alphas in the teams, stood no chance until about 15.

I played rugby at school and the reason I’m in permanent pain Is from a bad tackle and yes we do look back on past hits are are like “dam why I go that way” but at the same time you put us in paddling we get crazy aggressive…. Ok Mor crazy aggressive to a unhealthy level that’s why we don’t do pads. Well that’s my understanding of it

Back in the day my company got to upgrade Jonah Lomu's Website. Meeting Jonah Lomu in person he was 6'4" and solid and had presence. However when he spoke he did so in a calm and soft voice that was great to hear but unexpected.

Not sure if there any compilation videos out there but Two names instantly come to mind of Female players to check out Emily Scarratt of England and Portia Woodman or Anna Richard from the Black Ferns (NZ womens team) All phenomenal players that stand/stood out in already phenomenal teams. As it’s been mentioned England women. Are currently just in a different league compared to basically any other team out there. They were the first team in the world to go fully pro and this was only 4 years ago, even the black ferns who have won 5 of the 8 world cups are only starting to go fully pro this year!! (Coincidentally the year they are hosting the World Cup 😏) So yeh England women are incredible a group of very very talented players regardless of their gender they are just phenomenal rugby players. And as a proud Welshman that’s hard to say 😂 Even the world rankings the next best 4 teams are basically 8 points behind them The top ranking you can get is 100 which is basically impossible and england women are sitting on 96.78 For comparison the mens #1 South Africa (and current world champions) are currently on 90.61! So yeh impressive. As a side note other male rugby players to check out which I’m sure you may have had mentioned are Shane Williams (welsh wonder countries leading try scorer 4th of all time 60 tries on 91 games for his country shows what a 5”7 guy can do in such a physical big game) Bryan Habana SA again a try demon and speedster 2nd all time try scorer Brian O’driscoll IRE just a phenomenal reader of the game with amazing skills to back it up. Captained his country 83 times played for them and the lions 141 times Richie Mccaw NZ not much to say except double World Cup winner capped 148 times of which 110 as captain and oh joint record holder of 3 times world player of the year. Not so much a flashy compilation type player but a hell of a player. And Alun Wyn Jones again not a particularly flashy player but most capped in the world by some margin and a Talisman to the sport Also special mention to Michael Hooper, Dan Carter, Jonny Wilkinson, David pocock, Antoine Dupont and many others And even more of the phenomenal players who played before or just after it went professional Gareth edwards, Zinzan Brooke’s, Willie John Mcbride, JPR Williams, David Campese

Alun Wyn Jones is amazing to me - he doesn't seem any less of a physical presence now than he was when he was in his 20s. Glad you mentioned the dominance of the Red Roses; given the inadequacy of our men's team at the moment, it's great to watch an England team playing like a team rather than an assortment of talented players.

Oh, and Emily Scarratt appears to be the best place kicker in the Northern Hemisphere women's game, but I've yet to watch any of the Southern Hemisphere teams (WC later this year of course!) and am interested as to what the Black Ferns, SA and Aussie teams are like.

I was in the Girls Rugby team at school .. age 14/15 & 16 year old girls and man it was brutal and bloody even at that age. It was amazing. 😅

funny story, after what you said about life choices, , we played rugby at school, used to play other schools in the evening after school we were 13 and 14 years old, going to play in oxford, what we though was a school on one of the university pitches, some one messed up these came out, 6ft tall with beards, shit we had not started shaving yet, im small light guy, i played captain and scrum half, passed the ball to the big guys, play maker, anyway, one of these hairy beasts came running towards me, no way was i tackling that, i thought i will dive the wrong way, looks like he dummied me, i did that, he went the same way, i hit off his thigh, i think i woke up monday for school

It can only be tackled below the neck. The hair is on the head, so you can't pull the hair. It's a penalty stroke.

It's great you watching womens rugby and stating that the players give 100% and that you say there's no difference to men. One big difference is all Male players who play for their country are professionals,while most of the women's players are not. England is one of the teams that are, and only the top players are under contract. Which has only come into play in the last few years. Also if you want to watch some upto date videos, check out the women's 6 nation contest 2022. (Just finished this weekend. Last game to watch is France v red roses (England) both going for the grand slam.

Lifting a person off the ground or tackling the neck/head (a high tackle) is illegal and is, usually a sending off. In you rugby, you can hand off a tackling player, but not a fist, the hand. And grabbing or tackling someone using their hair is an automatic a send off, I would say.

the problem with the padding is its hitting a solid rather than a semi liquid like humans are, so with the mid torso down tackling if you had armour you would end up doing severe damage because the mass is more rigid than usual, hence why upper body tackles are allowed in gridiron.

Heads up reminder guys… The women's rugby World Cup starts next month. The USA will be there with a pretty decent team, England will arrive as clear favourites having put New Zealand to the sword earlier this year. It might not be RU-vid bubble stuff but I hope you will be able to enjoy watching some games in full. P s, but its very nature tackling someone by pulling their hair is deemed as a high tackle and therefore illegal

My daughter was brilliant at rugby and played proper contact rugby with the boys until she was 12 and then wasn’t allowed to play with the boys. She moved to girls’ rugby and they only played tag rugby until 16 so she stopped playing and moved over to hockey!! We watched women’s adult local rugby and it seemed absolutely savage compared to men’s!🤣😂🤣🇬🇧🇬🇧

Unfortunately depending if you ain't a popular player like Jonah lomu where you get endorsements from companies like Nike and that,to the average player they still have to work to support their families.

If you isolate yourself because you are running away. That is a score against you. Because it doesn't stop when you do. So rugby players don't run away like NFL players do.

In reference to "What's happening?" Tipping a player is illegal because in the past necks have been broken. The reason it looked weird is because EVERYONE is trying to stop her from tipping over due to safety, even the opposing team. The video you had last week in the men's game a kiwi was tipping another player upside down and everyone stepped in. Oh, and it's to OK to confuse someone's gender if they look butch. You corrected yourself so it's all good. Trans people play in the rugby they ID with too. Love the videos, guys.

Trans people should not play in the gender they id as in a lot of places as it has been proven to be too dangerous. The International Rugby Association has quite rightly banned trans identified men playing against women.
