Hitting the markers | SMSP GP Circuit | RAW Onboard CBR600RR

It's been a while since I rode the GP circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park and this day was somewhat different from the others, I'll explain why;
This was a Coach and Setup day with Top Rider Australia and also was the first ride day under their new contract, so things were well organised, smaller groups and lots of track time.
As you may know, Top Rider Australia normally takes you for a walk around the track explaining all the different entry and clipping points in each turn, however as the GP Circuit is almost 4km, they opted for marks on the track, which you will be able to tell from the video, I dedicated my day to hit the markers, lap after lap, consistently.
I went on this ride day with the intention to work on my footwork and rear brakes, whoever during my pre-ride maintenance I notice my rear brake was very stiff and not working properly so my plans didn't go ahead... I did, however, work on my footwork, I found difficult to get rid of old habits and I had to keep reminding myself to position my foot throughout the day.

I was riding my faithful 2007 Honda CBR600RR with a few mods that I installed myself after coming off at T2 at Eastern Creek, here's a video in case you missed: www.youtube.co.... so here's a list of mods that I've done on my cbr600rr.

Are you "manually slipping " the clutch when you downshift? My cbr jerks really bad when I downshift and I want to try a new method besides blipping
@sundaytherapy
@sundaytherapy 4 года назад
yeap that's right, I apply different techniques for different corners but I feel that slowly releasing the clutch gives you a lot more control over how much engine braking you need also helping on not locking my rear wheel as I don't have a slipping clutch.

Getting close to buying another track bike. Have looked at this and the Kwaka. Like the Kwaka for the slipper clutch (Im not great and rev matching). Have heard the IACV works as a slight slipper, thoughts on it? Also can you give more info on the rear brake delete.

I always found the tank on the ninjas feel a little too big for me, I prefer the skinny Honda’s ergonomics. Definitely slipper clutch is an advantage over the cbr but to be honest I enjoy the wheel locks when dropping gears 😆 except when forget you set gp shifting and drop a 1st instead of a 3rd 😂 I’m no mechanic or specialist of any type but I don’t think IACV has anything to do with how your clutch behaves.

@@sundaytherapy Awesome man thanks I used to have an 08 Speedy Triple and compression locking that thing to stop lights on the road was stupid good fun!!! Well what I've read is the valve allows a small amount of air/fuel into the cylinders after throttle has been shut off which inadvertently reduces engine braking and therefore acts (lightly) like a slipper

For the Speedometer camera POV where'd you mount your go pro at?

im trying to figure that out too lol
@denniskranz4041
@denniskranz4041 4 года назад
@@mikec4773 I think its mounted on top of the gas tank, slightly in front of the gas cap. I was messing around with mine and that is my best guess

its always a bit of a mission and I went through a few iterations hehe basically I stuck the mount the farthest as possible on the tank (touching the triple clamp) from there is a Frankenstein of little arms attached to each other to bring the camera over and in front of the triple clamp and out of the way as I tend to move quite a lot on the bike. 3-4 little arms should do the job. Make sure you use a screwdriver to tighten the arms to each other as they come loose quickly with the vibration.

Just wondering why you have an FI light on. Enjoyed the video.
@sundaytherapy
@sundaytherapy 4 года назад
That’s because I installed all the goods and never took to a professional to go over what I’ve done. Google mechanics said the FI light is on because I installed block-off plates. It doesn’t bother me to be honest, bike works great.

Stop cutting the camera into t4 im tryina see the marker they're using hahaha
@sundaytherapy
@sundaytherapy 5 лет назад
haha sorry mate, I normally change cameras on my braking markers, not the tip in point but I'll definitely keep that in mind for the future videos. As a reference, the marker is very, very freaking wide and late, almost at the beginning of the ripple strip. T8 as well, scary late marker, you can only see the funny thing when you're up the crest lol
@rodrito75
@rodrito75 4 года назад
The constant cutting to rearward camera is so annoying. Can't really get a feel of the track or the marker positions
@sundaytherapy
@sundaytherapy 4 года назад
If you take a look closely you will see that the purpose of the rearward camera is to give you my breaking points, watch a couple of times and you’ll get it 👍
