Are you typically late, early, or both? If you're on current gen console and have a gaming monitor, my advice would just be keep trying low-difficulty game modes and take pitches to understand when the ball is crossing the zone. Sometimes it literally helps to just watch the ball "get bigger" as it moves towards the plate and see it cross the zone. If you're late, you need to anticipate a little more and keep your thumbs ready. the leg kick is a little more advanced but typically if you can anticipate when the batter puts their leg down with your peripheral vision you can swing at that moment and time it perfectly.

@@Ho-ran I’m both late and early. And when you say crossing the zone what do you mean by that? This is my first baseball game like ever and I don’t watch baseball in real life but I’ve had a recent liking for the game and want to start playing seriously

Like the moment where the ball is literally passing by the batter. Turn the sound up, and listen to the ball hitting the catchers mitt, take some pitches and don’t swing at everything thing. Just try to pay attention to the timing of the pitchers windup until the ball comes. It’s not meant to be easy it is a challenging game at first.

What console are you playing on? Just remember the opponent is usually smarter than CPU pitching. And try to make him throw your pitches. Play some events and Battle Royale and test the skills you learned in practice. You could also try rated online, which is a game mode found on the main menu. Hope that helps.

@@Ho-ran I know. I have the Xbox Series X so I don't know why it still feels harder. I've tried the modes suggested and I still have a hard time. I don't play on switch that much. I only play on switch when I travel.

I’ll be perfectly honest idk the monitor setting but I bought an Asus gaming monitor and didn’t mess with it.

Start timing up the pitcher’s windup more. Figure out when his leg kicks and lands and base your timing off of that, and get ready sooner.

@@Ho-ran Thanks for responding. I am gonna try to get some dd players with more prominent leg kicks. I know its me because some games I can bit randy or jacobs fastball and crush my opponent. then others Im late on a 91 fastball

So basically before the ball is thrown I look at the pitchers body and glance around the mound during his windup. instead of staring right into the pitchers face. Once he throws the ball though I obviously try to pick-up on the ball and what is being thrown. Basically, keep your eyes moving ever so slightly before the pitch.
