Havnt played ball in 30yrs but this is my favorite RU-vid channel. Love it!

Man i remember the one team from a couple hours away brought the orange mako carrot sticks when i was like 10 or so to a tourney. We played a preliminary game against them 3 kids got home runs and i remember eating lunch at the field waiting for next game seen 2 home runs. We played them again in semis or something and the ump seen like 3 rockets to the fence and outright said this bat is unfair and banned it from there team. And boy the rest of the game sure looked different lol. They sure just dont seen to make them as good as they used too at easton. I even remember the xl1 half black and half yellow was super good when i played. Its crazy how much difference a bat can make you hit though. I went to our local shop and just bought what i liked/budget friendly back then i got a one year old stock 2012 -5 5150 rare black/gold/white looked pretty sick. Teammate bought a 2014 voodoo overlord black/white and tan handle my goodness that thing when you hit the ball it felt so good to hit and just launched. My 5150 i didnt seem to quite mash to ball lots of inside out hits as lefty was always small for my age so had to go contact route. Considering dusting of my demarini 271 wood composite and go to the cage one day see if i can still hit lol. Almost 10 years since i played. Didnt have enough kids for 15 year old team and wasnt going to play for HS in town would probably just sit most of the time

I’ve been swinging the Mav1, Rope and Split for about 3 months all bats are 32”. I’m 13 and here is my feedback. . The Mav1 is the best overall bat out of the 3 with the best sweetspot. The rope has a smaller sweet spot but feels a little end loaded. The Split and the Rope feel pretty close to the same to me. Bit have smaller sweet spots but I feel like the Split is a combo between the rope and the Mav1. When I barrel them up I get about 3-5 more feet of carry with the split and rope. But it’s easier for me to use the entire field with the Mav1. I have my swings in my page.

you should either move the select pwr up to a 10 on power or drop the split to a 9 because the select pwr got a higher ev than the split

Love me some Bat Bros! My Freshman 15U son hit Demo Easton Split today. For a younger player at least, he said it swung like a log and small sweet spot. So right with your feelings. We went with the Clout Ai. Thanks for being so damm good and straight up with your video's.

You should either do a bat tournament with the tup eight bats, or reflex versus hype fire.

The Select is such an every mans bat. True goat. You can beat them to hell and they just don't give. I have seen 719s that look like a lions been chewing on it the last few years. It's my #1 recommended bat in USA for 11u on up and the older Prime is my #1 for the younger players. My son nick named his 2023 PWR Mr Richard Parker. Which hilarious when my 10yo clears 240ft field and is asked what's bats that bat called? Such a sweet bat.

Will, please get a big bruiser of a power hitter to try out the Encore/Split with you. It's a different experience for the big lunks who enjoy beefy bats! The Encore/Split DOES require serious break-in. Its composite lining has outrageous pop once it's primed and ready to go. My son mashes with his 33/30 Encore. Among end-loaded bats, it's nearly his favorite -- even beats his Stinger Nuke. Only end-loaded bat he likes better is the Warstic Gunner, which is lighter but not quite as hot as the Encore. I understand Will's dislike of feedback. On a cold day, the Encore/Split will ring you up almost like a one-piece alloy. But the feedback is nonexistent when the weather is over 60 degrees (in our experience). The Encore/Split is an under-rated bat. Very durable. For that reason, I would strongly recommend it over The Goods. (BTW, the Encore BBCOR is dirt cheap over at JustBats -- no need to pay $400 for the new Split, which is literally just a repaint of the Encore.) Reply

What would be the best contact hitter bat for a high school senior to take to his college team next year.

I seen the new release of the 2024 LS Select PWR in USA certification. Tossed up between the Select PWR and the Bonesaber for a soon to be 8 yr old.

Interesting to see how it compares to the encore. Got my son an Encore USSSA and the select pwr. Encore has a smaller sweet spot in USSSA too. He has only picked up the encore once and it's just collecting dust lol.

As far as 2-pc Hybrids are concerned, it's still Select Pwr/Bonesaber Hybrid/CatX Comp for the best attributes of the scale. If you want a paddle that could turn a groundball into a double in the gap, Select Pwr; if you want a cannon that will send a baseball into the mesosphere, Bonesaber Hybrid, if you want an all-around great 2-pc that doesn't swing you, CatX comp. Maybe that inner wall tech needs a monstrous amount of break-in like the Hype Comp, but Easton is really struggling to set themselves apart in a more diversified market (BBCOR). It's not just them vs LS vs DeMarini anymore, companies like Warstic and Stinger (and even Rawlings, who would've thought Rawlings would come back from the dead?) are pushing the envelop, and Easton can't seem to keep up, I suppose they should be happy they made a weapon in the USSSA Hype Fire, because these just look like Hype/Encore/5150/ALX 3.0.

The MAV1 is amazing and I think the ROPE is an interesting one. Definitely suggest those for the next Easton reviews.

The hate on the goods durability is a little much it seems like. Ive used a green goods for 3 years now and had zero issues durability wise. Used it in high school and juco and havent had a problem with it.

It's really sad in my opinion how Easton has been over the last few years when it comes to baseball bats. That was the brand everyone wanted back when I played. Now it seems like it's Louisville Slugger, Rawlings, or DeMarini that everyone is using for bats. If there's another brand I'm missing, let me know.
