Hitting with the 2025 MARUCCI CATX2 (1-piece) | BBCOR Baseball Bat Review 

Yall remember when the Bat Bros used to top out at 94mph with BBCOR bats, throw live BP to each other with Cam, JT, and Trace? They have come a long ways man, now they have a Rapsodo, a pitching machine, and top out at around 108mph with BBCOR bats. Heck, they even have a sign on a field! Way to go guys. ❤❤❤

Will, thank you so much for your un-biased reviews on these bats! For all of you who are looking at a one piece, get an atlas over a catx or get a 2piece(select pwr,bonesaber hybrid,connect) instead. I bought the catx since it was light, but just hit the gym and a 2piece will feel as light(a bat weight helps too). Congrats on the PR's too!!!

Love your channel. I'm in my 60's now. We used to play slow pitch hardball on the weekends back in the 1980's when we were in our 20's. One of our guys could hit slow pitch regularly about 410-415 ft out to left and left center with an early 1980's metal bat. Some of the balls we used to use had a game or two of wear on them as well. It would be interesting to see a demo on the difference between slow pitch, BP speed, and regular 90-92mph fastballs. Always wondered how much distance he was losing because we were playing slow pitch.

You guys should do a showdown with just what you were suggesting - lighter bats like that catx2 and voodoo one in a half in or inch longer than what you typically swing vs a couple normal for you length bats at the top of your rankings: atlas, goods, icon, select power, bonesaber hybrid

Hey Will, i heard you say that difference in length can be offset with endload. This may be true for swing weight, but it is not true for swing placement and depth perception. Certain people have swings that place there hands out in front whereas others torque a little more. Also, people have different arm lengths compared to their height, called the ape index. This means where they place the bat during their swing varies. This also extends to how far in front of their body they hit the ball. All this is to say that people have a certain preference for how far from their hands they wanna hit the ball. Thus, some guys need bats at a certain length in order to match their perception of where on the bat is ideal to hit the ball. The correlation does have some merit to it and there is a way to test exactly what length is best irrelevant to the weight of the bat. This is the premise of bat fittings. This is why bat fittings need to become a larger practice in baseball. You've trained your hand- eye coordination for years only to have to adjust to a bat that was not made with your swing in mind. Unless you have endless cash to try every model in existence (and/or the number 1 youtube channel for baseball bat reviews), you're likely not using the best bat for your swing

X2 barrel sounds/looks stiffer which would explain the hand ringing. Ball doesnt seem to jump quite as much off the barrel when compared to the 2023. Also goes to Will's comment on the 23 feeling a little more forgiving/flexible

I was wondering, I literally just got a new cat like two days old and went to the batting cages and it is a one piece not a composite you trip And when I shook the barrel, it rattled and I am 11 so I don’t swing that hard. I read things on the Internet and they said that it was just a piece of glue that like chipped off on the inside or something and I was wondering is that true?
