That moment when I recognized the music... Wow Boldir's sly. I love her. TimeStamps: Follow the note? 5:18 - Yep 18:30 - I'm out So... wanna learn the arts of sleight of hand? 10:27 - Heck yeck! 19:04 - I'll pass
Ok, we 've got some backstory shit going on here. It is said that many of the main character's friends have died because of them. But none of their troll friends died, only at some of the bad endings which are uncannon. So that happened before they stole the spaceship and went on Alternia, right? Moreover, the narration at the end of the video is in first person, while the main character is always referred in second person. Is this Hussie speaking? Damn, that route was quite dark!
I haven't watched / played the epilogue yet, but it seems to me like these are memories from the other paths, kind of like how Dirk has some memories from his alternative selves. In 25:45, but mainly in 25:50, we can see that the main character doesn't understand where all of the guilt is coming from, but specifically on why there are so many feelings (or items in his flashback, as his 25:50 dialog seems to be half of a thought that isn't fully explained), i.e he regains memory of many people who died even though he knows they are alive. It would also make sense that it's only happening now and not in a previous death, based on the topic of the conversation and all of that.
When I heard it I freaked out. When I saw a spiral I freaked out. When she was talking about paradoxes and fate, both very important themes in HS, I freaked out. When she died and we saw something after the ending. I FREAKED OUT
Making active references to paradox space and heavily foreshadowing the awareness of alternate timelines? I'm officially excited to see where Friendsim goes with this!
indeed. paradox space may be amoral but it does not allow things to happen without purpsoe either. but some is really weird here. someone is pulling the mspa reader out of these timelines it seems. but the question is, why are they doing that?
@@taddad2641 might I just say that in the last few minutes before Boldir died, mspa reader called themselves a WASTE OF SPACE, and in the entirety of mspa history, I have only ever heard those 3 words, that class and aspect, associated with one other huss of a character.
What if doc scratch actually commissioned the assassination(s) so that paradox Space would only have the one outcome? There's no way the MC would deliberately leave boldir, and vice versa. He needed to interfere to doom alternate timelines and so used ardatas poison, which would only be cured under specific circumstances. Doc scratch is the person who "conspired to bring" these events into being, by limiting the successful outcome to one chain of events.
This is my personal interpretation: MSPA reader is a hero of time. Throughout Friendsim they wear the symbols of two prospit-dreaming time players (Mallek and Mavrus). Additionally, in Galekh’s route, MSPA reader acknowledges its been a couple of months instead of a few days since Friendsim started and then quickly corrects themselves. I haven’t played pesterquest, but i saw online a bit of dialogue from Aradia’s route where she implies that MSPA reader’s classpect gave them further insight into how things work than they should. Because of this, I’ve come to speculate that they’re a seer, mage, or muse. I think seer is the one that’s most likely in a meta sense. I saw someone call the failed endings, non canonical, but i don’t think thats true. When you see Skylla again in Konnyl’s route, MSPA reader acknowledges that Lady is “unkidnapped” or something. So, while those aren’t the events that happened in the timeline, MSPA reader still knows they happened. Something similar occurs with Polypa. Because of this, I believe that every time you load a safe or start over to play a different route, that’s MSPA reader using their time powers to go back in time. Or, alternatively, using their powers as a seer of time to see the different possibilities that could have happened. That’s why when MSPA reader remarks that their friends keep dying, i dont see it as them meaning before Friendsim started that their friends died; I see it as them acknowledging that their friends die a lot while they try to befriend them. Think of Tirona, for example, who dies while trying to break into Tegeri’s office. I also think that the voice at the end is Doc Scratch, because that’s the type of egotisical remark he makes (first person too).
THAT BIT AFTER THE SCREEN FADED TO BLACK THOUGH??? WHO WAS THAT SPEAKING?????? Because it can’t be MC. They are ALWAYS referred to in the second person. Hussie? Or Doc Scratch? Someone else?
Tad Dad no, in terms of tone, it does seem like somethin Scratch would say. The text wasn’t white though, which means we can’t be completely sure that it was scratch. There are some theories around that it was one of the purplebloods, or one of the trolls with the time aspect (though I’m not sure how it would work in a no SBURB setting).
Was that an "its raining somewhere else" reference? Boldir's imagining rain at 18:59, and it starts raining in the second bad ending. Also, does anyone else think the MC is remembering the failure timelines at ~25:18? A skipping record, a bunch of feelings coming from... an alternate timeline?
I think Ardata poisoned Boldir in order to test the Reader, basically to see how much chance one could have saving another from being poisoned in one of those snuff streams. Since the Reader succeeded in the good ending, Ardata would likely be impressed, even if mad, if she found out Boldir survived. In short, it was not a coincidence but something planned in advance, outcome notwithstanding.
Definitely a void player but what class? Heir of void is a pretty strong possibility. Since void can mean nothing or secrets and heirs are usually ‘surrounded’ by their aspect. Boldir is surrounded in secrecy constantly
I consider Friendsim a cash grab but if the theory that the final line is said by Doc Scratch is true then fuck it I’m down, I’ll spend a dollar on 20 minutes of exposition.
I like her tbh but yeah she's one of the most distant friends But in Lanque's route she kinda changed like she doesnt totally mark you as trash and she actually hosted a party like damn
They've reused tracks from homestuck before. First time a hiveswap track was reused, and is a major one... I'd say it very much fits considering the route, gives it an air of added importance
