Syria is run by Bashar Al Assad and his Nusayrite/pseudo-Alawite sect. While they initially welcomed Iranian and Shiite assistance against the Sunni insurgency, Nusayrites are against and opposed to 12er Shiite leadership. With that in mind, Bashar's regime leaked Iranian IRGC officers' locations to Israel. Nusayrites have always schemed against 12Shiites and Sunnis with Israel, resulting in Syria's supposedly paralyzed state of affairs towards Israel. Syrian "talk" about Israel is misdirection.
