Nice to see some fellow Bama riders here! This is a really great review and instructional video too. You helped me make my decision - just ordered a RPHA 70 ST Kosis today, REALLY looking forward to receiving it. Thanks again!
Thank you guys! I was desperately on the search for a new helmet and didn't have HJC on the radar at all,...just went past them in the shop and dont really know why. Was looking into Schuberth and Shoei, but they are of course very pricey. Gave the HJC a try after watching your review and was very surprised. It really feels like a much more expensive helmet. I bought one on sale for 260 bucks and almost feel like I stole it for that price. The quality is really good and it's so much more quiet than my previous xlite-661,...which bothered me immeasurably. I too had to go a size down though, but the helmet fits very nicely. Thanks again!
Hi watched the video, desision made. Bought one Vias colour, doesn't go with anything I own but looks great in the matt colour. I ride daily and do around 25,000 miles a year,so they get used to the max commuting. I heard several places about sizing and went up one size ,glad I did. Have a extensive collection of helmets, premium brands mainly. The hjc is up with them and very pleased .Venting system actually works, quieter than I thought as well. Great helmet. No negatives from me. Thanks for the review.
yes, my rpha70 chuky yellow with gold lens and pinlock is definitely a head-turner.. the shell is not bulky which i like the most.. i am looking forward for the rpha70 st carbon solid black next month.. i will have it with blue lens tho.. very nice helmet really..! thanks guys..!!
Hey folks, i heard you say that you had a C70 before you got the RPHA 70. So since i own a c70, my question is how is it possible for a lower budget helmet has a 4-5 star safety rating on the SHARP test, and the higher level helmet only 3 stars? Is it worth the upgrade? P.s. i ride a Yamaha FZ6 S2, so its more of an upright position
@@TheTirexik Hey my guy, sorry for the late reply. I ended up going with the Scorpion Exo R1 Air, as i couldn't find the RPHA in the right color pattern i wanted in my size, but i did notice that the 70 has one hell of a flimsy chinstrap button. I have had a test drive while i was trying out sizes, and the helmet is nice, but from what i hear, the new rpha 71 is built better so i would go with that one instead
I used to ride in HJC FG-ST. Been using it for 5 years no issues. RPHA 70 - sunsshade was operating smootly only for 7months. Now it sticks. There is no way to fix it DIY way as the mechanism is between the outer shell and the foam. Basically 5$ piece requires replacing a helmet :( The rest is awesome.
anyone know how to remove the right side chinstrap cover? mine wont come out like the left one and the manual has nothing for the right side do i really just have to wipe it down with a wet wipe?
Great review guys. I have just ordered 1 but since I have I've seen several reviews that the visor doesn't stay up properly and drops down when doing over 10mph. Is this a common problem or just the odd dud Helmut.
I find the visor won’t stay in place in all but the very top opening position, the wind pushes it closed? Is this the norm? My rpha90 needs a firm push at each detent.
Hell great video. Quick question, if I order the M and it’s too tight after breaking point. Can you just order the pads separately that was made for the L and exchange them instead? Just want to know before I ride in the helmet.
Hey thanks for watching! I would ask the retailer you plan to buy from about those specifics. I thought of the same thing & theoretically yes. It just depends on how the retailer you buy from will work with you on the return process. I'd ask them before making your purchase if that's a concern.
Hey Emmanuel, thanks for watching! I believe all the RPHA 70 ST's have the same features this far. Usually they will make a slight name change if the model helmet updates or changes features. The different names like "shuky" or "vias" are just different color schemes the helmet comes in. Hope that helps. Stay tuned for more videos!
Hey KB thanks for watching, and to answer your question, ABSOLUTELY our review still stands. This has been a great all around helmet for sport riding/touring/Adventure/etc. It is also great with our SENA bluetooth headsets that both Brandon & I installed.
Hey Vickey, thanks for watching! So you know I'm not a paid sponsor of any type & I really like both of your choices for touring. With both having the same features and similar safety ratings I'd base it off of price & color schemes. For me the HJC was cheaper to purchase & it had more color options to stand out from other helmets. But again Vickey both are top tier touring helmets in my opinion. Stay tuned for more videos!
Thanks for watching! No the only reflectivity is on the back of the helmet. If you wanted more reflectors you could look at some reflective stickers or decals if you feel like it
Visor falls very easily in low speeds....I sent it back to the store for visor mechanism replacement.I dont know if it will be fixed..... My opinion is to avoid it.I bought it and regret. better buy a shoei gt air 2.
AMEY I would recommend trying some on if possible. If not then comparing the sizing chart of the AGV you wear to the sizing chart of the HJC would be the next step.
Hi guys. I too have this helmet and love it. But you want to see the state of my hair when you take it off. The whole groves of the inside of the helmet is bedded into my head and hard to remove. Only downfall of the helmet is that. Have a good one 😀
@@apexpedition4277 @wavehopper08 Nice review! Helped me a lot! But hows the windnoise around 30mph, 60mph and higher? Really looking into buying this helmet
am sad, hey man just seeing this. The wind noise on the helmet is honestly pretty minimal. I Cruise typically around 85 on the interstate and can still hear all my music great with this helmet! Hope this helps!!
