Interesting video BUT a word of caution from the EmuElec Discord where I was told to be careful buying HK1 as later ones have a firmware that does NOT boot from SD card making EmuElec unusable without a downgrading of firmware on the HK1 which MIGHT fix the issue.

Some android boxes have a hidden button that allows boot from sd card in 3.5 jack connector, for example T95+Max. Maybe that's the case here.

Hey there. No. The issue is that the firmware which is in his particular box is a bit odd. You can update it with an older version to get microsd working perfectly, we've done a tutorial on our channel if you need it.

In the TV boxes, the S905X3 was replaced by the S905X4 a few days ago. The old boxes are now usually very expensive. S905X4 boxes are now available from around 30 euros (4GB/64 GB). The X4 is about as fast as a Raspi 4, but costs only a third of it. In addition, with Raspi you still have to buy a case, a power supply, a MicroSD card and an HDMI cable. If you do not want to tinker with hardware and do not need a GPIO, such a box is actually an alternative to a Raspberry Pi 4 in many cases.

@@SuperNovaTechnology A, okay, sorry, my mistake. Yes, the boxes with S904/5x were available for 30 euros at Ali a few months ago. Then they suddenly became more expensive. :-( I then ordered one with H6, which is easier to provide with Debian. Just insert an SD card with the image, done.

Hello, I was looking to get a fully loaded retro game counsel to play snes,n64, play station on. I have been watching all your videos and I would like to know your thoughts on you number one gaming counsel? I saw you did the retrostation PC & the HK1 BOX. It really caught my eye, but Is there one you can recommend for me. Or is there something better? I would need something that is already loaded up with games. I don't have any means of doing that myself.

At the 7.51 minute mark, we need to go to device tree web page. My box is an XTREAM BOX, and in CPU-Z it displays it says....Model Xtreme (p281) /Manufacturer Amlogic/ Board p281. Internal Storage 11.07gb/RAM 855MB. In the CorELEC choices, there are a number of p281. Other info it also is 4 x ARM Cortex A53 @ 1.20GHz Rev rOp4 Mali 450MP renderer. How do I know which one to select in the Driver Tree please? Thanks

I just got this box. I just put RetroArch on it. It has Tubi for Streaming, Kodi with built in Sports and Men of Culture "CORN" repositories 😀. I just need to press install on it. I also installed Cloud Stream on it. it's a great Streaming and emulation machine up to PlayStation One. It also has Smart Tube for no ads RU-vid. For me it's going to be a waste converting it to an Emuelec only device.

I've been on EmuElec 4.0 with my X96 Air TV box since April 2021. Last week tried EmuElec 4.6 but I noticed that I can't scrape anything. I can connect to our WiFi network but I can't scrape. Is EmuElec still able to scrape? I also can't download any themes and I very much dislike the stock theme of 4.6. What's going on with EmuElec?

Hello, I recently bought HK1 BOX but I am having issue with X3 T3 Bluetooth Gamepad Joystick it acts crazy it stops from working after few seconds and it come back after but without disconnect error, I have second spare but its the same its android tv issue. Please help me I would like to enjoy with this box but I dont know how to fix this.

I have been using the hk1 for a long time and I'm very pleased With it. I'm able to boot on the microsd card without being forced to use an USB to SD adapter. Weird that you cannot boot on it. Didn't you miss a step ?

PS1 can be played super easy now so cheap box can handle it fine. Week ago i launched 2 vids... only they all run on native resolution. S905x3 or higher can maybe put ps1 on 2x resolution.

@@pokichua that's going to depend on where you live. I'm a very hot climate? Might be an issue... In Japan / UK you should be fine. If it does get too hot, you can always open up the top lid. Or drill holes.

Botacera or Emuelec are piece of software. It more what is the power you use with them. Botacera with a cheap PC haves more gaming options than this android box most of the time.

Quick question: I'm thinking of buying this box, but there is an important thing I have to know, if you could help me with an answer I would appreciate it very much: Does it support the option of reading stuff from an USB stick (not SD reader, plain USB stick). I plan to install Emuelec on SD card and use USB stick for ROMS and METADATA

I do know you have the option to put firmware on the SD card and usb for main storage. Only batocera have the option I think to put the full image on a storage device.

Install Terminal Emulator on Android and type in reboot update. All you need to do to boot off SD card. What was the name of the PSP game you showed? i watch your video's for game ideas to play.

It doesn't come with an SD card or games. You'll have to put it on yourself. Other boxes like the superconsole x come with a pre loaded sd card and yes you can transfer those games to your PC.

Original SD cards are not the best quality. So recommand make a backup and flash that to a new good quality sd card
