Well.. They eat worms and snails that eat coral in a very fast rate, eels and groupers control certain damselfish and butterfly fish that spread disease along worms and snails to the corals, Parrotfish eat algae and are vital to certain spread zooxantellae, fish agregations produce a very important of coral food source as their waste is high in bakterioplankton that helps coral inmune system, also a huge amount of eggs and larva that coral eats, well, its very complex, but i'm marine biologist and work with coral reefs,and i told you that this bay should be highly protected as they are in a unique health and also because is a shallow nursery for many species, even the endangered scalloped hammerhead. Here we're making laws to allow spearfishing only in forereefs and open water zones, in deeps greather than 5m. To be sustainable this is imprescindible.
