I originally wrote this song as a reminder to myself and everyone else to love themselves. As I got to the second half of the song, I immediately started thinking about someone very near and dear to my family and I. Last year I lost my cousin / little brother, and I realized through this song, I am also still learning to love myself while getting through the pain of losing someone close to me; that is the reason why I want to dedicate this song to Tuyan. Although my family and I are still grieving the loss of my brother, we must continue to love ourselves, to be strong and to care for one another.
To Tuyan:
Where ever you are, I know you're in a better place. I miss you EVERY day. I think about you EVERY day. I want you to know that the memories we created together, I will forever hold with me till the day I get to see you again. Peb "tsev neeg loj" nco nco koj heev. I want to dedicate this song to you because you also enjoyed music yourself, and you were there with me every step of the way. You played my songs to everyone around you and sang the lyrics like they were yours. I'm so happy that we got to be brothers in this life, and I hope we can be brothers in the next life. I love you.
To everyone out there, please remember to love yourself. Please remember to check in on the people you care for. Please remember to take time off for self care and put yourself first in times of need. Mental health is a real thing. This world can get crazy and sometimes people suffer in silence; I myself included. But I continue to stay strong because music breathes life into me, and I encourage you to find whatever breathes life into you. Thank you!

Thank you for this song! This is what I needed to hear. I am going through a tough time in my life right now. I have so many family and friends to turn to, but I don’t want to be a burden. Every night, I have been Crying myself to sleep after I put all my 5 children to sleep. I am struggling so hard to keep a smile on my face so that my babies can’t see my pain. I needed to hear every word of this song. 😢😢 Thank you for this beautiful song. It will be on my replay list of self healing songs.

I know life can be hard at times and sometimes the challenges we encounter can be overwhelming. Life is unpredictable for all of us. Learning from our past mistakes and moving forward is all we can do as human beings. At one point in my life, I was lost and was uncertain to if my life even mattered anymore. Losing the trust I had for everyone I once loved drove me to depression. Not having anyone here to help comfort me, I used music as an alternative source of comfort. Thank you for this song. I needed this cause I am going through a lot and thinking cause I just lost my brother last month and all I wanted to do is cry and healing at the same time. I lost both of my parents in 1999 and now I lost my brother in 2023. Three of them will always be in my heart and watching over me and my siblings.
