This is a small glimpse of time, captured in the distance past, preserved for future Hmong American that they are descendants of a brave and proud people. Let's us, children of the Secret War remember our fathers, brothers, sisters, and allies who had sacrificed and fought bravely to protect our land and people. I salute all those, alive or deceased for their sacrifices. May you all find peace and love in your life. Thank you.

Sad story I grew up in southern Wisconsin and knew a number of Hmong people in high school In my experience they were very kind people, tough, and hardworking They sacrificed so much to help our soldiers in Vietnam and as a thank you for all they did for us they were all too often rewarded with racism and indignities here in the US God bless the Hmong people!

Me. Galen Beery, today is June 8, 2023. I watched your documentary about the Hmong people during the Cold War. I am very grateful thank you to support my people their lost, death, and suffering for our sadness. Mr. Galen Beery, since I was a little kid roughly between 1977-1978, one day between these two fiscal years a helicopter dropped off my father in front of my father’s house with few items such as carbine ammunition, M-16 ammunition, walking-talking with a long antenna, couple explosion devices, and one tape recorder. My father shared many of these items to the Village and then informed them to move into the jungle before the communist will attack the Village. Therefore, my father took us to Phu Bia and then we remained in Phu Bia until mid of 1979 we got attacked by the Rebels or the Communists at Phu Bia. Then my father fought against the Rebels to protect my father’s family to escape from Phu Bia to Thailand. Therefore, we on foot to Thailand took us more than two months to the Mekong River. My father took twenty four hours to cross the Mekong River with couple bundles of Bamboo Pikes under both arms. We were very lucky and made to Thailand. Once we settled in a Camp in Nom Khai, the CIA came to Nom Khai to interview my father immediately to come to America. Therefore, two more later the Thai”s governments transferred us to Ban Vinai and then on January 14, 1980 we arrived in America. We settled in Virginia, Alexandria. My father’s immediately first job was to wash dishes on hourly $3.25. My father was the last Hero who had survived during the Cold War. Again, my father has mentioned your name and your title to help our people at that particular time. Therefore, I the older son of my Father’s family I am very thankful to your concerns regarding to our people during the Cold War. May God be with you at all times including your family. Now I leaving in Green Bay, Wisconsin over 30 years and if any questions please call at 9208194802 or email.

The only one American Hmong can't save him. Because he went to feed the blact Bear at Longcheng, which American locked the Bears in the cage. So he went to give some eat, but unfortunately, the Big bear pulled his arm chum up. So he used his hand gun on the left side, shot the Bear to die. That time, I was staying behind. I am so scared running into my uncle office. It was 1974.

My elder always talks about the Khmu but in Hmong we called them differently. My elder always said they were our brothers in arms and lived among us but people just associated them in as Hmong because our clothings was similar. My dad's uncle picked up 2 khmu baby while running from the Vietnamese. I have cousins and friends who are khmu and laos but speaks Hmong.

History is written by the victors. Well, in this case, the loser, the Americans. There were many ethnic groups who fought with the Hmong for the CIA but since the CIA only recruited Vang Pao and the Hmong to help the CIA, they only recognized Vang Pao and the Hmong.

Yes. I have a brother and distance uncle who are ethnically Khmu. My uncle and aunt picked up a few months old baby from a Khmu family while fleeing right after Vang Pao left Laos. I think they paid the Khmu family too. Both are still with us to this day.
