I remember back then when I was homeless, there wasn't any homeless camp like this for me to stay, I just stay at a park by myself... My Dad kicked me out when I didn't even have an i.d yet can't get a job or go to the shelter... I wish at that time someone like you guys will come talk to me and ask me if I want help get off the street and go to treatment... I also remember at that time feel so lost and like a ghost that nobody see 😭 . One time police came and ask me what am I doing out so late at the park, and I told him that I'm homeless I guess he didn't believe me, I ask him to take me to treatment and shelter but he said if I don't have an i.d then I can't get in. Anyway I want to thankyou guys so much for helping them.
It’s crazy how a majority of the viewers are viewing just to bash her. Yes, it’s true she did have a choice and fell into addiction. Many of you can relate and see it first hand. But doesn’t everybody deserve a chance at redemption? Even our own people. Mental health in the Hmong community is a new concept. By ridiculing each other for the current challenges someone is facing, we may not progress as a whole. Let’s continue to support and be hopeful that at least some change for themselves and their loved ones. It would be worth it in the end.

I can agree that the withdrawal symptoms are extremely painful and those that has never had to deal with an addiction may never know that it is menatlly and physically painful. It is torture. I'm in the behavioral health/substance use field for over 17 years. It appears that Mee does not want to change. She doesn't think she has an addiction problem. She seems content with her life. Honesty, you can't help someone unless they want the help. When there's a will, there's always a way. I've seen numerous successes in addiction, but the person has to want it. Mee, if you're reading this...i hope one day you'll be ready and make the chsnge for yourself. The world is filled with tons of opportunities and possibilities. You only have one life to live your best life, make ecery day count. You may have lost loved ones due to drugs, but never give up on self-love. It's never late, or you're never too old to make changes. You're previous treatment may not have been a pleasant experience, but trust me, there are people with good intentions to help you through. You just got to put in the work. Love yourself, do better for you!

Coming from an ex addict, it’s hard to get off drug. It’s daily battle and it’s hardest the relapse at start… it’s very easy to be on drugs then to be off. One in that world. We all daa….

I've been working in the mental health field since 2018. I see a lot of these drug addiction and mentally ill people who get thrown out to the streets from their families. They are an investment to jump around the system from one treatment to another treatment if they are able to get into a residential, group, assisted, or sober home for a temporary stay. It's super sad to see our Hmong brothers and sisters who end up in these kinds of situations. If they want to make the change they have the power to turn around and recover. Getting a job now isn't too hard even if the pay is $13-$18 an hour. It's enough to survive and pay rent and bills. Surviving through the cold winter in MN isn't fun. I hope these people can help themselves and get back on their feet.
Breaks my heart to see anybody in those circumstances. Yes some made bad decisions and some have just had a bad straw at life. But she’s brave to stand in front of a camera. It takes a lot of courage especially you know your old friends and family may see this video.

Something I learn with addicts is don’t help them. They DON’T want help! They are in their situation because they put themselves there. When they’re ready they will make that decision to correct their path. They are comfortable in their hobo life. It’s a lifestyle they choose to be in.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink it. Kudos for wanting to help but at the end of the day, this sister chooses herself, the lifestyle, and her needs. It may not be what we want to hear but that's her call. She says she sees (some of) her kids when she can and she even declines the help and treatment BUT she suggests it to others who are struggling as much as her-but in her eyes, more than her. Although she may not feel she has hit a low, she does recognize it enough to know that others have it worse than her. She is human. She has needs. She has chosen. We may judge but I felt she made it clear what she wants, and her situation is not conditional since she is OK with it and clearly understands the repercussions of her decisions.

Majority of these drugs abusers and users also lacks of understanding of treatments and Healthcare services too! Its easy for us non-user to give advices and past judgments.

I have friends and family that struggle with their addiction just like this. There's no helping them they have to decide when its time. This lady is not there yet. you're only helping her feed her addiction. Help the ones who want it. Some come around and some dont she dont seem like one of the ones who's gonna come around

Yes. My friend. Even now, some of our hmong people in Laos are homeless. They still live in huts. We used to live like that, too. These homeless hmoob in America are just like the hmoob in Laos. They are drug addicts (smoking weed) like our people in Laos smoking opuim.

Hmong people are tribal ethnic group similar to the Native American, before modern society they use to live in huts and shacks and are not homeless.

When someone is an addict and not "ready" they're not; the withdrawal is harsh, and finding a reason to live and push forward is harder. They're mentally unstable.

You can keep trying but sometimes being homeless is a choice for them. Addiction and mental illness is a personal choice to manage it and or become clean. I’ve been working in the mental health field for a long time. We can always give them resources but they have to make the decision to want help. Thanks for trying.
People don't understand that when you have a drug addiction it's harder than say and done. Yes you want the treatment but yet you need to drugs too. I understand where she is coming from and it's hard. People just say its easy just commit yourself if you really want too but obviously they haven't been there. Maybe when she have hit rock bottom then she would want to change. Cus it took me to hit rock bottom to realize it and change.

The lyrics for that part actually means getting high so to dissolve all negativity in life. When one had to smoke or get drunk to be happy, then they lose all hope for mankind and their own life. When they get to that point nothing else matters to them anymore cause they feel that even if they do restart and get their life straight again it's going to be taken away from them soon enough anyways. The only people who could be save are those who had not ruin their life yet or those who's life is slowly falling but could still be risen by changing their habit.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. Romans 6:23 “but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus”. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” 3. Confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and commit your life to him. Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”. 4. Repent (What does repent mean and do? To repent is a change of mind, that leads to a change of heart, that leads to a change in actions. This “change” involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God.) Mark1:15 “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Luke 13:3 “But unless you repent, you too will all perish”. Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord”. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance”. Once you come to Salvation then comes baptism. (Baptism is an act in which symbolizes one’s renewal/purification and becomes a child of God with the power of the Holy Spirit through water, whether the water is poured on to the forehead or one’s body is immersed into it. This symbolizes the death of our flesh with Christ and our new life through Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.) Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Galatians 2:20 “ I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 3:26-27 “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” 1 Peter 3:21 “And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” WARNINGS!!! Anyone who does not have Jesus Christ will always be condemned and their righteous deeds are like filthy rags. Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”. Isaiah 64:6 “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away”. Do not worship/sacrifice to other gods; you will only bring harm to yourself. Jeremiah 25:6 “and do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will do you no harm”. Deuteronomy 8:19 “It shall come about if you ever forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish”. 1 Corinthians 10:20 “No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons”. TAKE HEED NOW!!! Jesus Christ wants you to have a personal relationship with him. He cares and loves you more than his own life that he gave it up for you to be saved. Jesus Christ is the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind; to atoned away all of our sins with his precious life and blood, that we may share in his Kingdom (1 John 2:2 “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world”). Jesus Christ is not about being religious but to be in unity with him and allow him to deliver you from the bondage that this sinful body (flesh) is doomed for; God’s wrath (John 3:36 “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him”). Only through Jesus Christ will you ever get to heaven (John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture”). Seek Jesus Christ only: no other gods can save you from God’s wrath. God’s wrath is not a joke or to be taken lightly (Hebrews 10:31 “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”). Remember he is our Creator and all things are possible with him (Matthew 19:26).
