Hmong Wedding food, Pork with ginger (Bride's father's words to the groom) 

Very Traditional Hmong Dish. Most ceremony, we make this dish.
Back story of Hmong Wedding. When the Groom goes to the Bride side, the Groom will give a whole pig for the Bride's family as a present. The Bride's family will take that pig and butcher it. Once they butcher the pig, Bride's family will cook the pork in many dishes for the ceremony to start.
When you go to a Hmong Wedding, you will see boil pork bones with (any) veggie and the dish you see, Pork with ginger. It's very simple but very delicious. Salt and msg is mostly what they will season it with. You will not see peppers or pepper sauce at the table. The Hmong believe that if there is pepper or peppers sauce at the wedding, it is consider that the Bride and Grooms marriage will always be arguments.
