Hi Lisa. Glad you liked the video and although I was at Collingwood at the time your grandfather was there, I don't recollect the name but no doubt our paths crossed at some time. x
Nice one Mike. I was at Collingwood on EM's Course - 1960, Killicks Course - 1964, PO's Course and Howe Section PO - 1967. Served on Gurkha 65/66 with Jeff Shelton , who was from Liverpool like me. Came outside in 1970. Still miss a lot of it but, not all.
Thanks George and of course we have met on Forces Reunited. I'm so pleased that you mentioned Jeff Shelton as I have been hoping that somebody would recognise and possibly have served with some of those in the pics.
Hi Clive. The only Robin I came across served on the Loch Alvie, a frigate attached to the Persian Gulf Squadron 1958 - 1959 but I can't remember his surname. I have a picture of him from that commission but don't know how to show it to you.
I just added Royal Navy tunes that most people recognise. I thought it was better than just watching photographs in silence. My first ship, HMS Loch Alvie had a detachment of Royal Marines on board so it just brings back good memories and I bet 99 people out of 100 just recognise it as a Naval song.
