HMS York at FULL Throttle ! 

I remember a few days after we had left Walllsend in 85, we were doing power trials. We were doing about 97 knots, a few of us were on the quarterdeck, all we could see was a wall of water. Fanfckintastic

Was on HMS Arrow in mid '87 to escort the HMS Warrior museum ship out of restoration in Sunderland. In a flat calm sea, she did from a dead stop to flat out (restricted to 95% power in peacetime) in 90 seconds on her Olly's - 33 knots and a rooster tail wake higher than the flight deck! It has been said that during their post-build sea trials without the extra weight of the 4 Exocet launchers ( which were fitted later), they could hit 38 knots!
