I've got a set of those Atlas well cars, was NOT a fan of them. Way to easy to knock parts off and transporting them anywhere was virtually impossible without damaging them! Their locomotives and most of their other rolling stock, different story, its good stuff! For me, its hard to beat the Walthers cars, the metal bodies make them extremely durable, and I still view them as the best bang for your buck intermodal cars out there! Enjoyed the video Dillon!
Glad it was helpful! That segment was about the last bit of info i thought to add and only did when i was trying to fit all the containers and wells back in the box haha
If anyone out there gets any info about an announcement for a new run of the Kato MAXI IV's, please leave me a comment or you can contact me on FB. I am hopeful a new run will be in the works before long! :D
maybe a video on the various 5 car maxi wellcars.. I have a bit of a mix of Walthers 53' and 48' single cars, plus some Athearn 48' singles and a 56' single with 26'containers and an Atlas 3car set like you have shown and a couple of sets of sec hand 5 car Athearn 48' well cars. The biggest problem with the lighter cars is they like to straight line corners if used at the front of a long consist..
Really love the Kato MAXI IV - I've been trying to buy up as many TTX variations as I can find. Got some of the Atlas on the way to add variety - concerned about the lightness but we'll see.
Couldn't agree more. My top priority at train shows are Kato Well sets. I look for all of them but I only keep the black and white TTX logo sets and the circle-cross BNSF logo sets. I have an atlas set (the one from the video) but I can't say I am huge fan due to the weight and their fragility. Hope the video helped solidify your love of the Kato sets :)
@@RWTX any idea on how many unique TTX road numbers there are? I have 2 of the new logo variants and 4 of the old logo. Wonder how many more there are? I don't have the 732000 in your video yet!
Based on the website, looks like there have been 9 unique numbers made of the old TTX logo. And then 4 of the new logo. I actually had not sat down and checked this before so I appreciate you asking this because it will be handy to know in the future! :D
Yeah. That is unique as many others don't include containers. What are your thoughts on the Rapido containers? I seem to see them as pretty basic with little added detail.
Yes. They do look nice. I actually had another set a from IM but sold them bc when i bought them the body of the car was warped and the bottom of the well would ride on top of the rails
