I also love your videos a lot. I’ve only been watching for around a month or so but I was interested in rc cars since I was a kid and my uncle was running his nitro traxxas up the road haha but your videos have completely reclaimed my interest in rc cars. Thank you 🤙
Hi Kevin, ok so remember this simple rule when drilling metal. The harder the metal the slower the speed. Also a good drilling fluid is automotive antifreeze. Just remember to clean ot up properly because its roxic to animals. Good luck and thanks for the great vids!
Ok thx man, i just Wanted to Know Because i have the same combo and when i repared my car it was going opposite directions so i was Scared to Swap Cables because i didnt know if it is sensorless, i already figured it but still thanks Mate (sorry my english I'm from germany)
We’re did you get the motor mount I have a Hobao hyper 8.5 an wanting too convert it too brushless as nitros all good an fun just haven’t got patience anymore 😂
I was looking at a Redcat Everest 10 for my first crawler. I have a 4 yr old daughter that I wanted to do this with. Do you know much about them? Thanks Kelly
I have talked to a guy who has one and he loves it he drove it over his friends trx4 lol, another great first crawler is the ecx barrage or a doomsday barrage they are cheap and have a very similar chassis design to a trx4, I just got a ecx barrage at my local hobby shop for 99$ and it's awesome. They are usually anywhere from 160$ to 220$ which is exactly the price range of the redcat lol. I'm going to get the Everest 10 too because I have heard nothing but good things about it.
If you want to get a crawler I personally would get axial. I have experience with redcat and many just little things break, like receiver bad connectors reverse does not work, then it works so just get an axial.
@@rc4life315 uhh no hobbywing is one of Castle's main competitors, that would be like pepsi buying Cokes and putting a Pepsi label on it or Chevy buying Ford rangers and putting Chevy badge's on them.......see my point it makes no sense at all.
Bead locks for burnouts? It seems like the heat is gonna break the beads loose on most all glue on tires. And thanks for the little info on mixing up wires on sensored motors, it explains why I fried an ESC when I was trying to throw together a test setup for a friends new rig. It was a Tamiya ESC so no labels on the wires and I was too lazy to research, Oh well it was junk before it melted anyway.
Kevin. Do you have any advice on shimming front end of a sloppy Hyper VS? Owt in your shop like a set of shims I could buy? I’m making a few replaceable lexan Shields for my new light weight chassis.
Im a racer and I got a new team associated b74 the newest 4wd buggy and the chassis is all Nice and new and I don’t have a chassis protector but I really want to run it
“Kevin talbot’ that is surprisingly strong chassis strength metal. Try out a traxxas summit kev please I love mine it’s wicked fun not the fastest but is all around great in all fields
Black drill bit some oil so your bit could last and drill slower let the drill bite, high speed just prematurely wears out you drill bits, better yet get a small bench press😁👍🏼
Hi kev where can I get that motor mount from ? I have a hyper 7 it was nitro but converted it to brushless but I want to fit a bigger motor and my mount isn't good enough cheers bud. Awasomes vids by the way
Hi Kev Gr8 vid. I have a hyper 21 nitro, no patience for nitro anymore. Any idea what I’d need to convert to electric? Can I use original center diff etc? Is there different mounts needed for motor/ esc? Any advice would be great. 👍
Lube the spots with some oil as u drill so the bit can stay sharper longer, otherwise the friction generated heat will soften the drill bit and go dull fast, and also drill at a slower speed. Drilling to fast will dull the bit faster also. With titanium, you do need a carbide /diamond dusted drill bit rated for high tensile strength, but also can do it with stepping the drill bit gauge in stages. Make a pilot mark, with a punch, and then start off with 2 steps smaller drill bit to break through a pilot hole, then you can step up next size, widen the hole, and then one more size up drill bit to final size. Thats how i learned to do it with metals harder than iron/steel to drill. But cutting, either carbide based, diamond dusted blade and lube also, or plasma cutter / high pressure water jet cutting table.
Just purchased the Hobbywing max 8 combo and my power switch and set button doesn’t work. When I plug the battery in the car is on and the only way for me to turn it off is to unplug the battery. Would you say it’s still safe to drive since something inside the ESC seems to be short?
