My great grandparents started this business, and my family owned it until the early 2000s. Sad to see the current state, but glad so many of you have fond memories of my family's business!
Seeing that sign takes me right back to a wonderful time in my life. The nostalgia of that mottled, multi-color globe. Thanks Storm. Thanks for the reminders of much better days.
Glad you covered this place I used to go to this place all the time in my Youth as a 20 yr old it’s crazy how time flies by and thanks for the bracelets I finally got them through my aunt I really just want to say thanks! I’m not sure where to place the sticker and we’d always sit here for the firework show in the summer a classic spot
Sad to say all those dry cleaning chemicals screw things up and then the property can't.easily be sold. It's amazing to see the interior not trashed or decaying
No one in Hobart that I know seems to know what is eventually going to happen to this place. The cleanup crews are long gone and it looks like its just going to sit and rot away.
I agree with you I even asked the people next-door what was going on and it looks like they’re not gonna open up again my guess is a gonna end up tearing that building down. After all that underground contamination cleanup, the building is looking a bit rough.
How does something all of a sudden get underground water issues? Something has been there for years, and all of a sudden, there's a water issue? I don't get that. I'm glad for people like you who document these things. Even though I'm not from Indiana, it's still important history for everyone. Years from now, anyone will be able to look back at your videos and see how it used to be. Your passion for doing this will fulfill other's passion for history, whether it be today or 200 years from now. You are doing something great and wonderful for your community!
What a wonderful thing to say I appreciate it so much Flo my friend ❤️😉🌸 As far as the water issues for that laundry mat, I know it has been around for a long time and I really do not have any solid documentation of exactly what happened there. However, I do know they had the pumps in the whole buildings outside parking lot tore up pumping water for over two years . It sits right next to lake, George in Hobart and they have a lot of wildlife over that way. That is what the big issue is. I think they don’t want that contaminating the lake next to it but that is just a wild guess on my behalf. What again I hope you know that your positive comments and feedback not to mention thoughts and memories is what keeps me going and doing these videos know when people appreciate and understand what I do means the world to me. Bless you my friend and like I said, just remember wonderful people like you are the pay off in the end for me and that is worth everything. Opening up memories and having thoughts on these places is what it’s all about for me. Thank you for your inspiration once again Flo. 🌸😉❤️🌧️‼️
Wow my fiancée and I were wondering what had happened to that place. So sad to see that happen. Definitely had alot of memories going there as a kid with my parents. Thanks for sharing Storm. ✌🏻
