You are so right! I am 67 years old and motorcycles were my hobby since 1966. Now due to health problems can’t ride anymore. I decided in April this year I needed something to do. My son-in-law and grandsons have rc cars so why not challenge them to a race! So I got a fast short coarse truck. Then in July I thought the crawlers look fun. So I bought one. So then my son in law got one too. We have a blast doing both kinds of cars. My grand sons are 11,6,5,3 yrs old. They are all good drivers. You would be amazed at how the 3 yr old can drive a crawler through the rocks. Total control. And the great thing is I love working on them! I now have two crawlers and 1 short coarse truck. My bank account has suffered a blow as much from up grades as the trucks. It is so worth it!!

That is awesome! Love you are spending time with family!! You should look at some 5th scale Rovan stuff. They are fairly cheap and a blast!!!

I can testify to that 💯 I was very blessed to keep my job🙏......I dropped over $400 on a Losi & 2 days later dropped over 2.k for the Xmaxx & Cen Reeper lol. Thanks for sharing the cool content & sorry I'm late to the party. During the lock down & T.P shortage, I wasn't to worried , I figured I could barter a few of my Rc's for some Ramen's & toilet paper for the family ,2020 was a nightmare RIP those we lost. %100 agree my brother! Listen im 36 now, i got into hobby level rc when i was 10 11yr old. When i was 19 20 i sold everything i had nitro and electric and there was no such thing as brushless or lipo batteries and 1/5 gas was just starting up and stupid expensive to this day i regret selling it all for money not cuz i didnt Like it anymore. Im bring dead honest here im a recovering addict for 5 years and everyday is a battle with depression and dark thoughts. 2 years ago i just stumbled on rc vids on youtube and learned how far the hobby has come since and how much more affordable 1/5 is compared to 2000 2001 and i forced myself to get a 1/5 king motor baja 5b and ever since ive never looked back!! It gave me something to look forward too again, bring back a bit of fun back into my depressing 7 day work week and not have any life. I never intended to start a RU-vid Channel but it just happened and it has helped me greatly with my struggles hobbies ARE AMAZING and can make a good impact in your life! Thanks brother for this vid and letting me tell my story!👍👊

@@BMPowered awesome brother love hearing that! Also the rc community is unbelievable! I never realized or thought it is a big as it is and how awesome most people are! There are still the haters and one tracked minded guys that just are stupid and ignorant gotta learn who they are and stay away from them but the rest is just good people that enjoy this phenomenal hobby like ourselves!

Man good to see honesty and to hear the same struggles as I have...i just got started with hobby but had to sell my baja 5b was starting to build because of I lost a finger at work and the virus also put a damper on money but also jeff from east side rc is a awesome dude and prayed and always has good advice..but it's good to watch all your guys videos just good honest fun and man that new rovan truck looks amazing cant wait I'm def going to save for that one! But anyway good work looking forward to more vids!

@@FifthScaleOrBustRc use to have a xmaxx that had close to a grand into it then went to dbxl gas which I gave to someone who paralyzed in a wheel chair and him getting excited and happy was well worth it.. I did buy the traxxas maxx for my little guy had the baja 5b that I got used and had a brand new 29cc motor that I wanted to try put in but that the one I had to sell but things are getting a bit better and probably will just save and get a rtr baja run with my little guy and his maxx.lol I was also thinking about having one built for me also...to many choices and seeing your guys nice rigs is great to see and just so much you can do to these things that's what I enjoy about the hobby! Great work man!

Thanks for this. lost my business from the COVID shutdowns and am looking at another 6-18 months before I realistically can get back to work. Rc and more specifically the 1/5 scale community has been a huge help to get me through this time. Thank you, happy new year!

I’ve been in the hobby for around 35yrs i started with control line airplanes my son was getting old enough for rc cars and it blew up from there but my son got married and moved out and we didnt do it as much then in 2016 i was diagnosed with COPD and was unable to work so that put a damper on things then the covid crap and my wife put me on lockdown having COPD this virus can kill me so my son said i have some extra money lets do the rc thing again and we run at a local school and my backyard i have a big yard so now instead of watching tv and getting bummed i set up a room in my basement where i build and fix rc cars for friends and my son and i have become closer than ever i’m 63 jan9th and dont know how long i’ll be here my breathing has been a little worse lately but i will leave this planet with a transmitter in my hand and a smile on my face! So the guys out there that have kids just do it get a couple cars and make some memories with your kids!

Your vids made me decide to get my own Rovan Baja and back into the RC hobby for the first time in 14 years, back in the old Savage 25 nitro days. I love 5th scale RC and have done some of the mods in your videos. Certainly kept my mental health in check having something to play with.

@@BMPowered I got the Rovan AS1 which is a 36cc with green and orange body and anodized parts. For upgrades i did a home made mesh mod on the pullstart and the engine case (you need to do this if you've not already for your track), air filter cover, shock covers and a killswitch. I also got that big strong, black rear bumper your pal but on his car, it looks great and acts as an easy grab handle

That 36cc sounds nasty.. I bet it tears up the place. The 45cc that we put in, its wicked. Stay tuned for a video on it..That rear bumper makes a good handle for sure..I flipped that Rovan and bent it and dented the curl exhaust and broke the rear support off it. Unfortunately, I had to put the original HPI box muffler and tube on it, for the last run we did. Made it sound weak and I could tell, less power made too.

you hit the nail on the head with this video. and for anyone reading this, if your considering getting an rc, check out WL Toys @ www.wl-toys.com/car-all-813-0-0.htm they have some pretty darn durable and cheap rc's. i personally dont have any of them yet but Kevin Talbot has several and we all know how tough he is on em!!!!

I have a WLToys A979-B but it over heats and shuts down on me. I may throw another esc and radio in there eventually. It hasn't made it to the channel yet..

@@BMPowered so its the esc thats getting hot? have you checked to make sure nothing is binding?? if it all looks good and you still want an esc, i may have an old one for ya

Yeah its the all in one ESC, blazing hot but the truck is a rocket, until then. I may install the OEM Arrma Granite Voltage ESC Receiver board and use that setup or, may do a mild brushless on it. Thanks for the offer for the esc though. Appreciate it.

Oh that's a great idea to try. I have some oldschool processor fans I could try on the heat sink. I may dig out my junk boxes and pillage parts. lol..
