Nothing wrong with having a yarn hoarding problem. Lol. Watching various crochet videos, it appears most have lots of yarn. Too much? Nah!!!! I look at it our habit could be so much worse. Lean into it and have fun!!!

Just got back from Hobby Lobby lol went in for 1 Skein!!! Ended up buying a bunch of their sale yarn 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and then saw this video Nice haul!!!!! I got charcoal and bone of the Prima Suprema! Love the feel of it
I've known of a couple people (who live not far from the border) who have driven across the border to hit the HL clearance. Of course, that only works if you aren't terribly far from the border.
As an American, who uses Hobby Lobby, you do have to be careful. Some of the quality can be iffy and inconsistent. I've bought a few skeins of a yarn that were amazing; soft, strong, beautiful. Go back to get a few more, same type of yarn; super plasticity, rough, and smelled like an oil fire. They are getting better, though, I haven't had that bad an issue in a bit. It is still something to watch for. **edit: Realized I forgot to tell you the brand I was speaking about. Its their in house "I Love This Yarn" brand acrylic yarn.
We don't have a Hobby Lobby yet here, but we do have one coming!!! I can't wait! Sage is my daughter's new favorite color, I"m actually getting ready to make some Bathroom Wash Cloths for her to match her bathroom. =)

I used to work at hobby lobby. If it’s has the orange mark down sticker then it’s discontinued and they won’t sell that specific anymore. Just the ones with the orange tags. I used to specifically work in the Fabric and Needle art department and that’s pretty much happened a lot with yarns that didn’t sell well. They always replaced the discontinued ones with new completely different types of yarns but the specific ones with the orange tags usually don’t come back.
Oh my gosh! You actually worked in the Fabric and Needle Art Department at Hobby Lobby! My paycheck would be gone every paid day. That would be so hard for me! 😂😂🧡🧡🧶🧶

I bought a lot of the same yarn! I had the same thoughts about playing around with the different ones. I'll have plenty to gift. I have people asking me to make them things all the time, so I didn't mind stocking up. I know it'll get used!
I didnt make it before my hobby lobby clearance was raided except the jumbo 7 yarns. the corded yarns can be unraveled and rolled into 4 weight including the merino you showed just in case you dont want to use it as a jumbo 7.😊 I now have 2000gm of 4 weight yarn. so many more options. 😅
FYI, some of the clearanced Hobby Lobby yarns, they marked down entire line of a yarn. In that case, they will no longer be making that yarn. Example, all the Fireplace Comfort was clearanced, so you won't see that once all the clearance yarn is sold out. However, if only a few colors of a specific type of yarn are clearanced then you can expect to see those colors replaced with new colors. I'm sad to see the Feeling Chunky yarn go. I love a good bulky cotton.
Tiffany you don't got to explain yourself to us ...WE ALL LOVE YARN ..LOL. I never did get to go yet..to the Hobby Lobby huge clearence but next year. I've just finished my 7th chemotherapy just 1 mote lefted YAY. Then I start radiation for 8 to 12 weeks. This will soon be just a bad memory. You have taught me so much I'm working on your Tiffany tee. I have some softee baby by Bernant that I got for like 1.70 at Joanne's yes Joanne they had a clearance like when it was still winter out anyway it was 20% off the clearence so I got some good deals that day. But love working on your tee. Thanks for sharing.
The Niagara Falls Hobby Lobby is where I shop also. My husband calls that area the triangle of crafting material because there is a Hobby Lobby, Joanne's, Walmart, Dollar Tree.
For the Hobby Lobby, if you want to hit the clearance, you may want to wait until June. Otherwise, I think they have a "30% off all yarn" event every other week (tomorrow, Monday 2/20, starts the next one, I believe). Enjoy! 🐞

Hi Tiffany, The 7 Jumbo knitted yarn. My daughter bought that exact 1 & to stretch it, she frogged it. (There weren't many left by the time we got to the sale.) It's like a loose, barely twisted, almost roving when frogged. It's about worsted weight & so much more to use. Just an idea to throw at you. You may not want to do that.
This sale is of the discontinued colors in their particular lines. So the colors that were on sale will not be back. This sale happens each year about this time of year, just before Father’s Day.
I was on vacation in Alabama and Tennesee - there was a HB down the street from each of my hotels. Thankfully, it was a road trip and I came back with half a ton of yarn. A week later, I went to my local store and there were still some clearance yarns left. The big get for me were the hand dyed merinos. I know they will turn into beanies that will go into my Go Imagine store. I am now at the point where I have to use what I have. I have no more room for storage and refuse to buy more bins!

Hobby Lobby Jacksonville FLORIDA does not have clearance sales went last weekend but maybe 8 yarns to choose from. Happy for everyone who was successful .
Tip I just found out , they print the yarn off on a sheet and task a member of fabrics to go mark it down. If you ask nice the person working in fabrics may let you bring them yarn you the internet savvy shopper knows is on sale. They check it with the sheet so make sure you only grab colors you know are on sale in the yarns on sale and the person working in fabrics will mark it down for you . It helps to go during the week when they are slow. Also check up high and down low as yarn is sometimes hiding stored up or below the shelfs. I have notice some stores are not even bothering to mark the yarn and wait for the people to ask seems to be the new way HL is acting, the employees seem to think it annoys customers and employees. I purchased 110 Skeins today but had to ask to have over half marked down. Good news is I get first dibs at the yarn though...Best of sale hunting luck to you.

Yes, with regard to weights I have 8 skiens yarn lion’s brand hometown 100% acrylic #6 weight and a 4 skeins of lion’s brand wool ease yarn 80%acylic/20%wool that is a chunky super bulky# 6 (but a bit bulkier than the hometown). I wanted to use both but am hesitant as the one contains wool and the slight weight difference. I would be glad for any tips with mixing these. I had a yarn crush and love the two colors together.
This isn't the best video to watch while crocheting an amigurumi! I'm counting my increases, and then you start counting! 😆 I went to my Hobby Lobby in mid June, just after my birthday, got 23 skeins for $32 something.
Any yarns that have ALL the colorways on clearance will generally be discontinued. That has been my experience. When only certain colors are marked down, then they will either have new colors or just won't have as many colors. They will be bringing in new yarns, of course, to fill all those holes. Btw, you don't have to justify getting a bunch of yarn. It's 75% off - that's your justification right there. LOL Also: you don't have to justify getting a certain quantity. There were some yarns that I bought ALL that they had in a color and then I bought more at another store. I buy a lot of yardage for making large projects, unapologetically. You aren't obligated to leave some behind in any given color. And finally: you can yarn hoarde all you want to! With the prices of yarn increasing so much now, I'm thrilled to have a stash large enough to carry me through even a LONG stretch of inflation. LOL
Oh, when the Hobby Lobby Huge clearance sale happens you will see a lot of videos on RU-vid about it! Haha, but honestly, I think Hobby Lobby does a huge clearance sale twice a year for restocking new selections. You can always go in and ask them or sign up for the emails. 😊❤️🧶
I don't think they do an announcement on email (could be wrong, of course!). The clearance is every June, I'm not sure if they have one in winter. Enjoy! 🐞
Oh gosh, I think some people have the time of year memorized but not even the employees are told when the sale will happen until the night before. I have noticed that a lot of RU-vid channels shout out when these sales happen because everyone goes crazy. I'd just look out for the channels to advertise it. 😊🧶❤️
