The turbo fins produce a bit more resistance when pedaling so it’s a trade off as far as "efficiency", yes you get about a .3-.5mph difference but you also exert more effort so efficiency is subjective in my opinion it’s not worth the cost to upgrade given how light and quick/nimble the Lynx is out of the box.
Depends on what you are wanting to do. Efficiency in my experience with both fins on the same Lynx was noticeably better. Now if that is worth it depends on the individual but unless you want to cover a lot of distance, it may not be
@@thebeardedpaddler light weight throw and go, recreational and some fishing (1 to 2 poles and some gear). Like the safety since it is impossible to swamp. Looking at this against the Native Slayer 10(62lbs & $2299) and the Moken 10 PDL (72 lbs & $1399). Unsure if there is a difference between the mirage drive and the pedal prop drive. Weighing whether or not it’s worth the extra $1000 and $1900 dollars
@@stevesafety6743 the difference between the prop and the mirage is enormous actually. I sell both and they both have their place. The ease of use, maneuverability, speed, and comfort are all tops on the Lynx. The turning is a huge difference because of the amount of travel the rudder has.
@@stevesafety6743 I had a slayer propel 10 which I sold it and bought the lynx. Never looked back. I loved my propel but it was just only a fishing kayak beast. The lynx however is a 4 in 1 multi usage. I have rigged as a fishing kayak, a sail boat, a paddle board and a regular kayak. While vacationing at a lake resort this week, I had folks coming to me amazed how I was fishing early in the morning, then in the afternoon I was sailing and in the evening I was paddle boarding. And on top of that I have the Texas Power Paddle motor installed and they were wondering how'd the heck was I moving without paddling? I mostly troll fish for bass and the TPP is far the easiest and cleanest motor installed. Mind you, sailing the lynx is a lot of fun, a change up from fishing. I have a full sailing rig with a furler installed as well. For paddle boarding, I just bought one of those $20 Amazon removable fin and glued the base under the power pole mount. A must have to mitigate the over rotation when paddling. The fin counter reacts and tracks you straight. When done, just remove the fin and rig it for the next activity. Overall I get full usage of my lynx for its multi vesatility. And the light weight of the lynx compared to the propel 10 was one of the main selling features.
