I just tried mine out, and overall a nice kayak. A few gripes though. the hand pump comes off as cheap. Screw in the tabs to make the handle bigger? Come on Engineers at Hobie, you can do better. And how about make one good quality hose that fits the hand pump and the electric pump instead of two cheap ones? Also, it should be packed in two cases, not one. I put my chair and folded kayak together and use the strap as a handle, then I put the rest of the stuff in a tennis bag - like a duffle bag. Its easier to handle that way and its less like a jigsaw puzzle when all these parts are so precisely packed in one 53 lb. bag. Come on Hobie, you have a great kayak, but all the "legos and tinkertoys" that go with it are a mess, poorly put together and cheaply made. Also much easier to use a Ryobi or similar battery pump instead of the electric pump that comes with it.
I don't know the price - but I have a Hobie Mirage Tandem - had it for 12+ years - and it is heavy - very heavy. Sits in my backyard and is never used. Not sure if this is more expensive than that - which was about 4K. Awesome - but heavy and tough to use.
@@ericklein5878 Thank you for the reply. Do you think other hobies reverse capable pedal might fit with this kayak? I'd like the reverse feature especially when I'm fishing....
For those that have tried this with a paddle board everything seems great until some wind comes up than its impossible to control and it wont handle the waves. Sorry unless someone found water with near zero wind this wont work without a displacement style hull to hold it in the water and track straight.
