Why does the floor look like it doesn't allow any movement for the goalie? Usually the surface friction is minimized to allow a fair chance for the goalie too

I've never seen sticks or balls like that, but I last played floor hockey in the early 70s. We used regular sticks and hollow red plastic balls that hurt like hell if you caught a slap shot in the ribs.

I have an aluminum shaft that has an abs on it that’s about 20 years old. The blade is still good aside from 1 inch on the heel where the white plastic material seems to have broke off and now it shows the wood underneath. You seem to have played some street and may have a good opinion. I’m teaching my son right now. It’s a really rare shaft that I want to get going again. I played until I was 19. Never learned this stuff. Somehow this junior setup is my best stick. Do you think if I got one of these I would be able to use my Sherwood aluminum shaft? It’s only an inch at most chipped away and maybe 1/8” deep into the shaft. Right at the end of the heel. Been looking for ways to repair it and can’t find anything. When it comes to replacing, I’m getting totally lost lol All those curve patterns don’t seem to match. It says junior mid-X 5. I’m still comfortable with it at my age though. The numbers don’t make sense to me though. I would be really happy with a p29. Crosby or whatever. I mostly land wrist shots and I’m decent at slap shots, but they’re not my go to.
