These girls were good. The girl who played Winnifred nailed it. This was the best part. I was hoping the sisters would end up living in Salem and helping people with their powers.
Bette Midler - Winifred Sanderson Kathy Najimy - Mary Sanderson Sarah Jessica Parker - Sarah Sanderson Taylor Henderson - Young Winifred Nina Kitchen - Young Mary Juju Brener - Young Sarah
@@spiderboyjosh She does the gestures perfectly. Dunno if Bette tutored her on how to do them but she really nailed it. You can believe that this is the woman who grows up to be the witch everyone knows and fears/loves.
Mother witch did the power spell hence why her eyes glow. I think this is why she says “new world same story” she’s lost her coven for power and has timed the world long enough!
Honestly, when i saw the beginning of Hocus Pocus 2 that made me think that in this sequel the Sanderson sisters are more like anti-heroes than full on villains this time. i say this because even though they aren't the central main characters of the film they demonstrated the attributes of antiheroes, because even the Sanderson sisters are the heroes of their own story. i mean it's just like Team Rocket from Pokemon even though they are the main villains of the franchise many of the things they did throughout it's run made them out to be more like antiheroes.
I really liked this movie, the first one was more darker , and this one shows the human side of the witches , it was more for Kids than the other. And it was perfect for me ❤💚💜
Anyone else think they did right by passing that book to the new generation of witches. I think that was what was suppose to happen in the 1st movie. Allison was probably the candidate but said "nah" cause she didn't really have a coven.
No......That book was given to Winnifred by the DEVIL himself..... Nothing good can come from that book. The book is bound in HUMAN FLESH.... Unless that girl is going to become the most evil witch after winifred.... The book is evil...
I do remember originally in the first movie they were gonna mention Allison's ancestor Eliza Podbury, who they refer to as a 'white witch', which is what they also call Allison when she first does the salt circle.
The young actresses were really good. The young Winnie was brilliant and nailed her mannerisms and speech. Sadly the rest of the movie wasn’t very good apart from the nostalgic aspect.
Its funny how many parallel scenes are in this second movie. I mean the part where the town is all knocking on their door, literally felt like the first movie when they all came to hang them 😂😂😂😂
I wish this film could have been a prequel to Hocus Pocus with the young actors playing the young versions of the witches through the entire movie. It would have been more interesting to watch.
They have to make a series about the backstory of the sandersons sisters, while filming the third and last movie with the other OG casts from the first movie 💖
I was deeply impressed with the young Sanderson sisters cast - they practically stole the whole movie out from under Bette, Sarah and Kathy as well as the protagonists.
Why are they portraying witches as just misunderstood? They clearly said in the first film that “the book was written by the devil, made from flesh, and contains pure evil.” That isn’t exactly a good thing…
Actually, no. They meant their own birth mother. This is canonized in the novelization, which Disney re-released in 2018. Her name was "Druscilla the Dreadful" (Google it for yourselves, if you'd like) and they were aware that she was witch. She died, and they fled Salem. Mother Witch is a separate person.
When I saw this movie, I was a bit confused. In the first movie, didn't they say that the Book was given to Winifred by the Devil himself? Or was this just one of those rumors that the Salem townspeople made about them that eventually became part of the legend?
Maybe the mother witch told them where she got the book from. I mean someone had to teach them how to be so evil. Plus I don’t think she would do a spell ‘The Power Spell’ if she knew what it did.
I can already see an inaccuracy in this film. It was said that the sisters got the book from the devil himself, which is why they refer to him as Master. Meaning it would be assumed that they learned their magic from him. Plus, the reason why Winifred wanted to stay young, all because she was in an arranged marriage. It doesn't seem like a strong reason. She wanted to be young AND beautiful, meaning avoiding a marriage wouldn't be a strong reason for her drive behind it. As much as it was good seeing their backstory, I think it could have used some more work.
If it’s okay I’m going to point out some other details. In the first movie Allison said it was a rumor, rumors aren’t always true, and she seemed disgusted when she said the priest said she was getting “old” and she didn’t like to hear that as we know. I’m sorry if you did hear these things and I’m getting annoying about it I’m not trying to start an argument.
What you seem to have missed overall though, is that all references to Satan/Hell were removed from the sequel; because it's 2023 and Disney didn't want the headaches from the hyper-religious snowflakes. So it wasn't an inaccuracy, it was a retconn.
Guys I still think the devil gave the their book. I think he gave it to Mother Witch and she gave it to them. If she created the book she would’ve know what the Magica Maxima did and she wouldn’t have lost her coven.
Maybe the dvd version won't skip around. Still mad that Disney plus may have edited out alot from the movie. I wish the movie was shown on pay per view. Then they could offer the unedited version.
Ok i get that in 1600s people might have been a bit simpler/more naive but how did the guy think a spider could be responsible for starting a house fire?
I loved little Sarah she played the part brilliantly 😂😂😂and the one who played little Winnie she slayyed the part🔥🔥🔥the rest of the movie wasn’t as good 🥴 the first one was hundred times better 🖤
I agree there was like 3 stories, from the Sanderson sisters going to Walgreens and discovering the 21st century, Billy butcherson and his scavenger hunt, teen witches discovering thier powers( which takes the focus away from the original witches) to the mayor obsessing over an apple it was just too messy and there was no direction or plot that made the film seemed focus or centered .. What a shame.. It's my favorite movie
Don’t forget a very split second at the very end. Whenever the third movie comes, she’ll have a far bigger presence in there. Remember she was following the three girls in the end.
I don't have a problem with the sequel being a bit lighter and softer. Other famous sequels have done that like Gremlins 2 or Army of Darkness. If they make a Hocus Pocus 3, however, I would like to see it get darker just to see it contrast with 1 & 2. Let's see the witches get really evil.
do you like them better younger or older do you like it better when Sarah Jessica Parker played Sarah do you think there be a third movie in the future or will they be to Old to do it
Mother witch is hot as hell bro no offense Anyway I'd love a movie of her story 🧍♀️ and a prequel about the Sanderson sisters :3 Squeeze it out a bit issokay fr
@@juicebox7372 Allison read, "it was given to the witches by the devil himself" in the beginning of the movie, when they went to visit the Sanderson house before Max lit the black flame candle, and during the trick or treating scene the Sanderson sisters go to a house of a man dressed as the devil passing out candy, when they went inside the man gave Winifred a chocolate bar and she said, "Master I thank thee, but what about the book?" .. To where the man in the devil costume replied.." We will get to the book later".. In that scene it shows that the actual devil did have knowledge of the book, so do as you wish with that information
@Lee Brown the devil I known to be a shape shifter.. he was a fallen angel, the most beautiful angel in heaven, he is also depicted as a goat and a man in red, if you're being technical then you can argue that perhaps they never saw his human form in red.. or perhaps being dead for 300 years came with certain side effects such as confusion, delusions, paranoia etc. I'm just going by what was written in the script and shown in the film. But that's just a theory... a film theory, and cut!
