Caribou is meant to keep you warm, a sip at a time, in the cold winter when outside for a long time. It's an old drink from way back in the days.

Those are pecan butter tarts. There are raisin butter tarts too as well as ones without the raisins or pecans.

It's a traditional liquor recipe from Quebec that consists of red wine, liquor (oftentimes whisky) and some spices. It can be served cold (shooter) or hot (mostly in a cup or those canes) with a citrus fruit slice or cinnamon stick. It surprises you at the beginning, but it's so good and warms you up during cold weather! These are served during the Quebec city Carnaval, but I read that they serve it too in Manitoba during the Festival du Voyageur! You can also find bottles of these already made at the SAQ (liquor store in QC) or you can make your own recipe at home! Cheers!

Why doesn't anyone tell you to try traditional Quebecois food like tourtière? Poutine is Quebecois fast food, not actual food that generations grew up with.

They could have as well tried a Cipaille! It’s like a tourtière but done in New Brunswick by acadians, it’s done by so many layers of triple meat (of your choice; for me I love personally with Pork, Beef Bourguignon and veal) and potatoes on a really big cauldron, it’s done in being cooked at low temperature for around 8 hours!
