Makes me want to get in touch with my German Heritage. (Which, according to ancestory is about 10%) My family would always make pork and sauerkraut for new years, telling me I had to eat some sauerkraut for good luck. I hate sauerkraut but, my wife and I do plan on being in Vegas for New Years so we might have to see about making this our New York day lunch or dinner.
The Sauerkraut really surprised me. I am not averse to it, it’s just not my favorite thing. We put it on burgers, hot dogs, etc. and it’s great and all. But I will say the German version at Hofbräuhaus is my absolute favorite. I could eat a whole plate of it and ask for more. If you are planning on a New Years visit, make sure to get a reservation secured. Vegas can be very busy around the New Year, and it may be a great idea to know you have a spot secured. -Paul
For the most part we do try to keep our channel as general audience friendly as we can because the goal is “infotainment”, but at the same time we are also childless millennial gay men so when we do get a tad edgy that little graphic is such a fun gag 😂😂😂 Thanks so much for mentioning and commenting about it because that was totally the intention ❤️ -Paul
My friends and I discovered this place back in 2005 while staying at the Hard Rock. We went on a weekend night with a group of about 15 of us. They had all these fun games we played along with the band and the girls had their own games with the loser having to pour a beer over their head. It was a blast and I try to go every time I’m in town. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner there. One time me and two buddies went and one of them ended up befriending a bachelorette party and we didn’t see him again until Sunday morning when we had to drive back home. So many fond memories! Great food and beer and jager shots!!
Hofbräuhaus is such a fun restaurant. That sounds like you had many amazing experiences there. And I thought we were wild ordering the shots and getting hit the paddle but we definitely need to step up our next visit. This place is a must visit for anyone visiting Las Vegas so thanks for watching and commenting ❤️ -Paul
We always try to keep ourselves and our content as “general audience friendly” as we can, albeit with a few subtle nods to our wilder sides when appropriate. But I will pull back the curtain a bit and say that I do have quite a bit of experience with that sort of thing and I am quite glad they have that fun gimmick. This is a place with a fun gimmick, fun vibe, good food (which is rare for restaurants with gimmicks), and exactly what a “fun restaurant” should be. And the live music was the icing on the cake. I am not joking when I say I really want to come back here even if it’s just for a giant beer and a pretzel. Thanks for watching this one and we are so glad that line entertained you. I made sure to put some of James’ more sinful moments from the video on that line when adding the B-Roll 😂 -Paul
Yay! You made it, and how much fun was that??? We recently returned for Paul's birthday and loved the food and beer! It's a bit of a splurge and worth it for a special occasion 🎉 (James, we thought you were going to cry after the spanking, but Paul appeared to want another 😂)
It definitely perked me up, I’ll say that. I’ve been paddled harder, but that server knew what she was doing. As for the experience, over all… we loved it. I wish we could return in every trip. The food was fantastic. Thanks for commenting guys! We really appreciate it. -James
Also @bestfoodreviewroadtrip7612 We hope this additional comment reaches you - We wanted to let you know that we have been watching your latest videos and do love the many off strip places you have recently featured (Flaming Fajitas looked right up my alley). I feel bad that we don't leave a comment but that's because we watch our RU-vid via the TV app and it's a bit harder to leave a comment on the TV app without going back into the mobile app or website. But we wanted to at least let you know that you are seen, we do watch, we enjoy, and keep up all the AMAZING places you show on the channel :) -Paul
@@JamesandPaulTryitAll Same here! We prefer to watch together on a big screen. Thanks for the love ❤️ We look forward to your weekend releases as well 😊
You totally need to! It is such a fun experience! I can only imagine what a blast it is during busier hours and during their actual Oktoberfest celebrations. -James
According to their website, if you are planning to visit on weekend Oktoberfest dates (specifically Fri/Sat) you may want to make a reservation, or prepay for a VIP seat (they mention that VIP seating will guarantee you a spot in the main hall). The reservation option doesn’t guarantee you the main hall, but will still secure you a spot. Any other times should be good (as seen in our video we went on a Wednesday night around 7:30pm). But like most videos here we always suggest or advocate making a reservation just to assure you have a spot 😀 -Paul
I am not lying when I said that its my new favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. Good food, fun vibes, lots of beer, live music, and a paddlin’ - What more could I ask for in a restaurant? -Paul
man that food looks really tasty! I also can't believe how hard the spanks were, oh my lol. My fave Sweet Caroline story is the time we were on the boat shuttle at Universal Orlando and it came on and everyone on our boat started singing, so much fun!
The food was truly AMAZING!!! James keeps saying we should make it a Vegas tradition to visit and have dinner there on each future trip. My favorite items were the Jagerschnitzel and the Pretzel. While James “reviewed” the Jagerschnitzel for the video, I hogged most of that plate off camera and finished it off. And yeah… she did not hold back with the paddle 🎉🎉🎉 - You never know if they would because it’s a restaurant and a touristy thing, but as a glutton for punishment I am quite happy that she didn’t hold back ❤️ I learned last year via TikTok that Sweet Caroline is actually sung by people in the various tents at the real Oktoberfest so it’s not just them playing it to play it. It’s actually them keeping true to the tradition. And yeah… envious about Universal Orlando, but that just sounds like a fun moment. -Paul
Been watching for awhile but haven’t commented. I really enjoy your content. I’ve watched enough to know when I hear “I have to be a little honest here”, it’s not good news 😂
I can only speak for myself, but when I say that I am always trying to be as constructive or as honest as I can. There have been times where I look back at the footage and I wonder if I was being “too harsh” when those words come out. But as costs are always rising in Vegas, especially in the tourist areas where we make a majority of our content, we don’t want to just give everything a glowing review if something wasn’t quite on par. As the one who edits the videos I am sure this is referring to the pork versus chicken sausage and while the chicken sausage was not completely dry (and it still tasted great - if you want a leaner option it’s perfect for that), it was apparent the texture was quite a bit different than what I was expecting and it’s likely due to the lower fat content. Also. Thanks for watching for a while and commenting ❤️ - We hope you enjoyed this one. -Paul
Ooooh… I have to be 100% honest that I have not tried one yet (as mentioned in the video my experience with actual German beer is a bit less than the typical craft brews that I am used to). But looking up what it is, that sounds really amazing because most Pilsner style lagers are great for easy drinking. And if the description says soft textured, I can only imagine how refreshing that is and how well it could pair with a pretzel or a plate of Bavarian food ❤️ Oktoberfest is a great time of the year. I so want to visit the real festival in Germany some day. Thanks for watching and for the comment (and teaching me something new via osmosis) ❤️. -Paul
You guys are hilarious. Love you both. Love German food. Looks delicious. You’re the best. That slap looked painful. Hope you can sit ok!! Loved your choice of dessert but gotta admit was looking forward to German chocolate cake. Love coconut. I’ll bet that’s great there
They actually do not offer a German Chocolate cake there. For desserts they have the Black Forest Cake, Apple Strudel, and a Bavarian Cheesecake. A fun food fact though (I learned this one when we got into home baking). German Chocolate Cake is not actually German. It was created here in the US and was named after chocolate maker Samuel German who developed the dark baking chocolate that goes into the cake. It’s original name was German’s Chocolate Cake but over years it was changed to German Chocolate Cake and because of the name it was thought of as being German but it’s actually a desert as American as Apple Pie (and it’s so good). But I will say this. The Black Forest cake was delightful. But I actually loved the strudel slightly more. -Paul
Oh I sat well. I have been hit much harder by paddles (or other things) during cast parties when I did Rocky Horror in my 20’s. But she definitely did not hold back and she clearly had plenty of experience. I highly suggest doing the optional spanking if you order the shot, it’s truly so much fun. The food though. That was the true highlight. That Jagerschnitzel was my absolute favorite. Though the Sauerkraut was also a huge highlight. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other entrees. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoyed this one. This is definitely a place we would recommend to anyone hands down for a Vegas trip. -Paul
It’s truly an AMAZING place. I just saw that Dani.702 made a video on it as well and if you are going to be in the Vegas area within the next month, they do have Oktoberfest happening until 10/31 so we highly recommend visiting if you can. But even if not, they have plenty of Oktoberfest fun year round ❤️ -Paul
Hi guys, great video as always, is there a good range of gluten-free choices in Las Vegas as we have just booked today to come in June of next year, can’t wait mega excited 🎉🇺🇸
I know for Hofbräuhaus they do note which items on the menu are gluten free, but I will say the options are a bit limited (when checking the menu on their website). As far as other restaurants in Vegas, when having any dietary restrictions (I have my own for a mild shrimp allergy). I usually find that most major upscale restaurants in a touristy area like Las Vegas will ask about dietary restrictions and/or make substitutions as needed but one best practice we do in the process of planning our trips is look over different menus prior to booking our dining reservations and looking for items on the base menu that would fit within my dietary needs. For my issue, sometimes something as innocent seeming as Kimchi Fried Rice (due to shrimp paste used in it) can trigger my shrimp allergies so it’s not always a 100% just looking at the menu but researching the restaurants you want to book ahead of time will make finding places that fit your dietary needs much easier and when in doubt always ask. Servers have always been very accommodating when we needed to ask and/or clarify what items do or do not fit within my allergy needs. I do hope this advice helps. -Paul
The food was so good. I’m sad that we can’t make this a stop on every trip. Our server did not hold back with the paddle, but thankfully she knew what she was doing. That woke me up better than a shot of espresso. -James
I know, right. By the dessert part of the video I was definitely feeling the beer and tripping up on my words 🍺 It was a good beer though but definitely a bit different than what I normally go for (I usually go for porters or stouts or the opposite end of the spectrum with things like Golden Road Mango Cart) Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️ -Paul
We will sadly not be out there during those dates. Our next trip after this month’s visit will be in December. We do hope you have a great time at the Paris though. That property is definitely one of my favorites and I highly recommend Mon Ami Gabi if you get the chance to dine there ❤️ -Paul
Before I was with James I did not have much experience with German food myself, but for many years I have been teaching myself to make things like Spaetzle at home. He even bought me a Spaetzle maker for one Christmas because lord was it much harder to make with a slotted spoon and the Spaetzle maker takes out all the work. One of our favorite weeknight dinners is grilled Bratwurst, Spaetzle, and pickled sweet Red Cabbage. Which is not only tasty, but very much budget friendly and delicious. But the best way I can describe the food here. Traditional. You are going to find a lot of carbs in the form of potatoes, pretzels, beer, paired with either sausage based meats or cutlets on the schnitzel. They even offer a tower of sausages and sauerkraut that samples many types that we have seen Best Food Review Road Trip show off in their Hofbräuhaus video. The spanking is always optional when ordering the shots but if ordering a shot, we recommend Barenjager (it’s a sweet honey 🍯 liqueur) or the Apple Schnapps because the other options are a digestif/aperitif which is more of an after dinner thing IMO, and Jagermeister which isn’t bad, and I totally love it, but it’s so commonly found at nearly every bar that if you’re gonna pay $10 for a shot and swat. Make it special 🎉 -Paul
Bavarian food, lively music, and giant beers are definitely not everyone’s favorite, but we do hope you have a better rest of your day with whatever type of food you enjoy. All comments help engagement in making sure this content reaches more viewers who love those things so thank you for the engagement ❤️ -Paul
When you get a chance, try the lunch special @ Peter Lugers @ Caesars. Lots of choices for $46.95 & some upgrades for lobster & steak. Appetizer, main, side& dessert!!! Crabcake sandwhich😊!!!
