I've been watching you for years now. I very much enjoy the passion that you have for the outdoors, and that you value the hunt for more than just the harvest. Hope you don't ever stop.
Yah gotta love Mr. Keith Warren, this man makes watching hunting fun and he comical with it, I would like to see Mr. Warren in movies 🎬 or as a cartoon character
I use a Savage 7mm Rem Mag for my preferred hunting rifle. I can go low grain rounds for smaller game and heavier grain rounds for the bigger stuff. Super flat shooting cartridge with plenty of power to back it up.
Yeah I prefer a 7mm or a .270 for deer and antelope but I like the 30-06 for an all around rifle because you can use it for deer and bigger game such as elk
Gh517 I can use my 7mm Rem Mag for elk as well, that's why I like it. Plus for longer shots the 7mm has the advantage as far as less drop/ wind drift and more energy. I can use the 140gr-150gr for deer/ other small game and the 160gr-175gr for elk etc.
Great video and Great shooting Keith! I just added a Diana 340 air rifle to my collection. Lothar Walther barrel, Minelli oak stock from Italy, and a Rekord trigger which is butter smooth. German engineering at its finest Keith. This will pass on down to my Grandson...get us some Canadian pigeons. TY again for showing the different options hunters have.
Thanks for sharing, at last you guys are finding out just what can be achieved with a .22 airgun. Take a look at some of the .177 shots on UK channels it doesn't have to be big to find the kill zone, awesome. atvb t ..
Always hold barrel when loading pellet in rifle . If it springs back it will bust your finger bad . Wee tip from UK! Lv your vids I live in wrong country
It’s definitely crazy how much air rifles have evolved. I’ve got a .22 cal Hatsan pellet rifle and i use it for hunting small game up to fox and coon. When I’m trapping I’ll even dispatch a coyote.
Ummmm... FANTASTIC opening. I am subscribing. Owner of a Benjamin Trail NP XL 1500 shooting 10.5 + grain. Love it and looking forward to watching your videos!
LOL....at 4:46...the look on his face is priceless. It's got to be so neat being able to bring down feral hogs with an air rifle. My sister found me a Russian made Baikal air rifle a few years back. And it's pretty damn strong, but probably not quite as strong as these Gamos are. I bet if I put me a cheap little tasco scope on it, I could light their ass up though.
Dear Mr. Warren, I am planning to go hunting for hogs in southern Ohio, but I cannot make a choice between a .40mm grenade launcher or a .50 BMG. Do I need a bigger gun? Thank you.
Why choose? 106mm recoilless rifle. Bag the hog you're aiming at and every other hog around it for fifteen meters! You can make your own bacon bits right there in the field.
Hello Mr Warren I have a question. I live in Germany and did my hunting license here.. I'm only 18 and want advice from an experienced Hunter like you.. Do you think the 7x64 is a good bullet to take wild boar? It is very simular to the 270. Winchester.. It would help a lot if you could answer my question.. Keep doing what your doing. You will always have my support as a subscriber! Ryan S.
Ammo used is Gamo PBA bullet, lead free 14,4gr pointed. @ 955 fps that's about 29 ft lb of energy. Oh, and BTW, you mentioned the .270 and the 30-06, why not .308W?
Hey Keith, Try out the Hatsan line of pcp airguns. I personally have the Flash QE, same price as the Gamo G2 Whisper(around 300 bucks, antlers an' all) but comes in every caliber up to and including .30. Mine is in .25, and shooting 29 grn NSA hp slugs @ around 900fps, has so much power I don't like shooting it in the backyard! Wonder what it'd do to one of your medium-large hogs, I do... I love video a tks I need dis video to keep me going whf the virus and all stuck in the house am a 51 year old black man in Texas I just wont to say tks
Hi Keith i bought the Gamo camo Bullwhisper Igt .22 cal and wow what a powerful Gun def the best ive shot in years i use H&N pellets called Baracuda power just same as ur gamo pellets the copper ones :) oh i placed a Pao 3x9x40 scope on it to :)
I wish the air gun community would push the states to allow for more opportunities for air rifle hunting. I like the way you started this show, answering why use an air rifle... I was also asked this question recently... I called the Idaho Dept Fish & Game to assure I could use my Benjamin Marauder 22cal on upland birds (quail mostly). An officer phoned me & I felt I was being put under the microscope for asking such a question. Funny, one of the things he asked is why I don't just use a 22LR - I told him for several reasons: 1) Because I thought that would be a clear violation of a listed illegal method of take ("firearms other than shotgun") 2) Accuracy: My air rifle is the most accurate
Great video, Mr Warren...always like to see videos showing air guns as viable hunting tools. My state (PA) finally allows the use of airguns for hunting and trapping....it took a long time, and they still haven't come as far as I'd wished, but, baby steps.....I'm headed to SC for a pig hunt with airguns in January, and I live close to VA,which allows open use,so I still have a chance to hunt larger game. We are allowed to hunt small game, woodchucks, and all furbearers this year in Pennsylvania....if you ever come up this way and would like try for some small game, coyotes, foxes,or raccoons, let me know...
Hello, Keith, There are lots of Gamo air rifles in my local store, but there are three models that I am really interested in and I can get a pretty good discount. Have you ever used: Gamo Socom 1000, Gamo Hunter 880, Gamo Viper Desert and Gamo Black Knight? They all come in .22 and all of them look really nice. I don't know which one to buy. I don't think they are as good as yours, though. They shoot about 721 feet per second. Is that enough? Thanks in advance, Keith.
Hi I am Alex Hubbell I live in a small town well really it's a village and I am 16 I hunt birds and rabbits and squirrel in town that's why I use a air rifle yes we have bigger guns to use but it's so high for ammo I have a gamo big cat 1250 .177 cal and I was wondering if you could tell me what you think of the gamo big cat 1250 .177 cal
Mr. Kieth I watch youre airgun hunting alot and i truly admire you and your videos. i have a gamo whisper fusion .177 and i cant seem to get that thing to shoot right and i was wondering if the .177 calibers are naturally an inaccurate in your oppinion/expieriences and if not, what kind of pellet have worked best for you. Thank you
Thank You Sir for highlighting you'r Target areas. It's Good to know a Pellet Can penetrate the Skull. I'm using a .177 Cal. Gamo Silent Cat. Do you think I can expect the same Skull penetration from that Caliber on Small hogs ?
Question on a really old video. In your other video choosing a pellet, You posted your targets. The copper jacketed or lead free pellet that I see in this video was one of the worst patterning pellets you shot, so why then use that pellet when you have such a small target area on these pigs? It this a different gun?
Hi my name is rhino awesome shooting I would like to ask to shoot game like deer .should i go camo brake berral ..ore pcp And how many feet per second must it shoot?
As far as I can see the hogs were clean kills I don't get what the negative comments were all about? Great video I love hunting pigeons my all time year round quarry.
Hi Keith I have a couple gamo air rifles(swarms) but since they have the magazine on the barrel the scope sits so high it’s impossible to get a good cheek weld… I was wondering what air rifle you would recommend. I prefer single shot .22.
I know your comment is 2 years old, but nobody answered yet, so anybody looking for the answer: the Gamo Hunter extreme .22 caliber generates around 26-28 foot pounds of energy. Variances dependent upon pellet grain weight and rifle tuning, of course. Most .22 cal higher end spring-piston air rifles will be between 23-28 FPE, and most good .22 PCP rifles (PreCharged Pneumatics) can be around 27-33 FPE.
Hello from Germany. Whats your opinion about the KalibrGun Cricket in Cal. .25 / 6.35 mm 75 Joule? I think this monster is much better than the gano air rifle. And would you think that the daystate wolverine air rifle is equal good than any other hunting rifles?
How does the meat from these pigs taste? I mean how does the flavor compare with the pork you buy at the supermarket? Are these 'gamey' tasting at all?
I have been eyeballing gamo rifles for a while. I prefer using my bow, but I can see a lot of fun to be had using air rifles again. What model of Gamo are you using Keith?
+Thomas Gardner Disregard Keith. I know the model now - looking it up for purchase. (nothing like using a bow on a pig though - crazy fun) good hunting
I have an Airgun with a simple recharge. I have a gamo hunter, and pull down any woood pidgeons. With a prometheus bulllets. What kind you think is an best bullets. Thank you( an again sorry of my english)see you ask very soon.
Hey Keith what pellets were you using to take the pig, what calibre and what fps was the gun you were using? What are your thoughts on the GAMO redfires for rabbit hunting? Thanks.
what do you think of the beeman rs2 aka silver Kodiak x2 and I think with a better scope it would be more accurate any suggestions and where did you get the 22 pba's at cause all I can find around Amarillo is lead
Hi Kieth, Love you videos. Learning new things from you ll the time. I personally love the 243 but is there anything that can be done to increase barrel life?
I've been told by several people that the barrels in their 243's only lasted about 1500 rounds. It didn't make sense to me because like you said, they're not magnum load. The 30-06 shooting a round over 150 grain and doing around 3000 fps would be more likely to wear out a barrel and I've never heard anyone complain about barrel life with those. Interesting. Thanks for getting back with me on that, much appreciated.
Hello , i am one hunter from Portugal and i am interested in one air rifle Gamo , however its seems to me that the scopes gamo arent very releiable ( with the shots they tend to get desalined ? ) , what kind of scope would you recomend for me . Thank you and good hunting ..
I would like to see how big of a pig you can kill with a 22cal Air rifle and at what range do you have a video on how big? You know size matters and there's a 30cal break barrel that hatsan makes have you tried the 30cal ?
