@GamingTech can you look into how the chromatic aberration and film grain are affecting the brightness in this game please. I swear there’s a difference haha also can you include in your videos if you think you should turn them off or not. I know usually it’s always have them off but you never know how they might be affecting the HDR image. Thanks!

I am so glad that the default settings are actually accurate if you set up your Internal hdr settings correctly. I hate to play with the settings and can’t decide which look’s right
Bro just wanna reiterate that you are my GOTO guy for HDR in everry PC game. Like all of them for the last 10-12 games. I just came back to HOgwarts and I was looking specfically for your take. I saw you sharing some frustration with growth, I just want you to have some positive feedback. If there is a slowing in growth its not because of you, it's because most people might not gaf about HDR and don't have the hardware required. Please don't stop, for those of us that tinker with settings for hours, you are THE man.
I'm a cable field tech and I've had my LG OLED for a couple years and I never understood why my movies and games didn't look as sharp or as crisp as some of my customer's. Watched tons of youtube vids and googled info. However, this video did better explaining than all other sources. And yes HL now looks fantastic thanks to you. You earned a subscriber!
@@T-roccBABY with gaming burn in by huds is really rare. That’s why many use neutral colors and are just that dynamic where it pops up and closes. I believe HL has a dynamic hud though

Great video as always. Would recommend purchasing an LG service menu remote and turning off ABSL (known as TPC within the menus) in addition to GSR to avoid those automatic dimming features implemented by LG
Haven't played this game yet but I've always preferred DTM to Hgig on my CX. As long as you calibrate the PS5s HDR while in DTM. You can't calibrate to Hgig then switch to DTM like he did in this video, it will look blown out. Unless this game works differently than any other HDR game I've ever played.
@@blkoutaccordI wonder why this isn't talked about more, a lot of the RU-vidrs and pros always calibrate with hgig first then turn on dtm on, I've always wondered why don't you just calibrate with dtm on if you a more punchy picture, I could be wrong?
At the bottom of the Hogwarts calibration screen, it states to use HGIG. Hdr Brightness at 25 washes out the image on the left with the sun and the lamps on the left have lost shadow detail. I found 16 is a better value, and I turned my CX internal Game mode brightness up to 55.
I godly agree I set everything to what he said on my c1 and the entire picture outside just looks washed out, so I then started to doubt myself like hmmmm is it just foggy cause it’s England lol but no your right 25 wash’s the picture out doesn’t it
got a c1 as well - whats the settings u use then mate? on the 4 u can change in screen calibration. and with hgig? isnt it bit too dark if u take hdr brightness to 16?
@@lukasrlleattermann7043 god Iv long plats it and moved on now hahaha it might be on now at 25 I’m used to darker hgig anyway cause it looks mikes better, just stick it on 22-25 if it still looks washed out take down the tv brightness Down by like 2

If your have the Samsung Q80T and are looking for settings, on the PlayStation, hdr calibration 15 clicks from zero on first and second sun, the third is set to zero, Hgig on, you will end up on 982 white point, and 25hdr brightness, which is correct since Q80T have around 900/1000 nits.

Seems really promising! Should I buy this!? I was going to wait for a sale but man the combat looks really fun and it seems like a good showcase game for my channel reviewing these TVs dropping in March like the G3 and S95C.
Hogwarts has almost universally glowing reviews. I thought this game would be fun but a little disappointing since it was such an ambitious project. But they actually managed to pull it off! They made a genuinely great game! If you are a Harry Potter fan, the game is a must play. And even if you aren't the biggest fan of the universe, it's a great RPG in its own right. They pretty much nailed it. The combat is the best part about the gameplay. It's shockingly good, judging by reviews and my own playtime so far.
Honestly I would say buy it. It's not perfect no game is but you can tell this project was a labor of love. There is so much attention to detail that it's staggering. The combat so far is very good, it takes a bit of getting used to but once it clicks it's satisfying.
I watched the video couldn't understand which settings to change apart from keeping HGIG on. Can anybody post the recommend settings for LG OLED for this game?
if You set ps5 system HDR with DTM on, this calibrates the game to 4000 nits(it says 4000 in the game menu) and the result is pretty stunning. HGIG looks fantastic but dtm calibrated this way, to me gives more alive image
Looks & plays great on PS5 balanced mode. Although in cut scenes whole image brightness seems to increase a little & characters mouth movement is out of sync with speech ever so slightly
LOL! My S95B just baited me into updating on the day this game came out and now I see that the HGIG “game hdr” setting is completely broken 😡 Word of advice to all, don’t buy Samsung unless it’s a phone.
@@bridew no I’m using HGIG. 25 as default looked really washed out. Hovering around 10 right now. It looks much less blown out and I usually play in a dark room
Gretchen Job. You were one of the reasons, I bought the cx. Can you also tell us the settings mode in the game? Fidelity with or without ray tracing? Or even Balanced? Your Video looks great with nice Lighting and a great frame rate.
I’m playing on my lg oled c2 on xbox series x. I notice when I’m playing this game on fidelity raytracing it performs so much better when I take cap frame rate off
Burn in is not rare. It is inevitable with OLED screens. On an infinite timeline, you will see it unless you are consuming 100% random content. You aren't.
The black level crush is insane in this game on the series x. Everytime you switch buildings or cutscene it breaks and the stuttering is crazy even with vrr. Only way was disable hdr

New ps5 update has had a bad affect on performance mode. On my C1 I can see really bad ghosting around the character when I run around. This was not there before. I switch to balanced mode and I don't see it.
I have a LG OLED B9, it has a max. brightness of 600nits I saw you calibration setting video of LG TVs and PS5 in which you showed a table. According to your table 600 nits are reached witch 12 clicks on the PS5 HDR Calibration 1/3 and 2/3 setting. However, the sun only disappears at 14 klicks, but that would be around 850 nits, which is also shown in the game. Would you recommend 12 or 14 clicks then? HGIG is of course on an black calibration is at 0 klicks.

I'm at 6000. BP 0. HDR brightness 5 to get really spooky cave scenes. Tv is set to tone mapping basic with hgig. Looke stunning here. Samsung qdOled95B/C don't 👌🏼 don't why I would set to 1000 for a worse picture?
Getting for PC later with LG C2. I need to upgrade to Windows 11 to get HDR App (not available on 10). Does this make a big difference is it worth it for calibrating HDR on PC / LG C2? Thanks (PS - Any video you made on this, great job)!
I honestly think Marcus’s cx is calibrated wrong or there is a calibration bug tbh, because he recommended 25 brightness 49 tv brightness hgig I matched those settings like I usually do and the picture is completely washed out white inside and out, if anybody is having this issues change your hdr brightness down to 9-15 and tell me that doesn’t look better
@@OTDECK damn, yeah I’m on pc with a c1 and the hdr looks hella washed out on hgig and dtm. I tried downing the tv brightness to 46 with dtm and it looks a little bit better.
@@xFrxsty yeah man I saw a post saying put hdr brightness to 9! And it actually does look better try it and let me know what you think! I know it seems dark but the image in the middle looks right at 9
Bro your Problem is you have false settings in your tv. Tv cant handle the bandwith rgb and wash out. Set this setting to limited if auto dont work for you because this game uses limited rgb what is washed out on this settings if auto is playing it on full rgb on your tv
Unfortunately there's really obvious raised black levels in HDR on Series X version. Just compare main menu title screen for reference. Why's this such a problem for most developers??? You should never ever raise black levels in HDR. That literally defeats the whole purpose of it. 😑
I don't know what's going on with my xbox version, but the black level is terrible. Everything looks smokey and grey in dark environments. I running a Samsung Q70. Not oled, but usually has great black levels.
my tv is a LG 49UM7050PLF and I couldn't set my HDR, I used all 4 settings and I found myself better with the "balanced" setting and everything was always very dark, especially inside the castle, it was so dark that I was groping, I removed the black completely, I used the game setting on my tv, but nothing changed except the performance and graphics, so I put the user standard setting and then sharpness but they were both too light , unfortunately I still haven't been able to find the right settings, nor to adjust the HDR from the appropriate menu, I have seen your video and I will try to do the same in the HDR settings, but if you can give me some advice for my TV on how to set everything up to fix the" HDR I would be very grateful
Imagine getting an OLED and increasing the black levels so it looks like a really bad LCD screen😂 crazy they'd include that black point setting. Is it for non OLED screens? I don't really get the appeal of it.
