I agree. But there is some way you can get around that. As you further your progress, you can unlock 3 more Vivarium rooms that each have 12 rooms, so 48 total when you unlock all rooms. Still wish you could upgrade straight up tho

Mods on PC are allready fixing some issues - i wont be surprised if we also see mods ajusting the prices for rare or shinnys - ofc thats a pc only fix but :)

There's 4 vivarium just play the game

There is a vivarium mod that allows you to capture regular beasts, each vivarium can hold up to 13 species and a total animal count of 99. Plus another mod that allows you to ride a dragon and even have dragons in the vivarium.

@paleumbrepn8494:I think they don’t do that because you can get alot of money fast by catching more than one of each of the beasts and selling them. the only problem is the nab sack only allowing 20-30 beasts in it leaving people with only 2 or 3 extra spots at the very end of the nab sack if their vivariums are all full and if they haven’t sold certain beasts in their nab sack.

@viperseyes8651:they have the feeder because then we don’t have to keep going into the vivariums 24/7 to feed them we just have to worry about brushing them and taking out a toy aka less work in the vivariums since the feeders make sure the animals get fed 24/7 when they are hungry. So we don’t have to grab out our food spell 24/7 to feed the animals when we go into the vivariums to visit the animals. It’s less work to just brush them and take out a toy since we don’t have to worry about doing all 3 feeding,brushing and the toy we just have to worry about brushing them and taking out a a toy aka 2 things since the feeder makes sure the animals get fed 24/7 when they are hungry we don’t have to go in to feed them at all since their food is in there with them

@viperseye8651:since the feeders can feed like 5 or 6 of the animals at one time all 12 animals get fed when they are hungry including the babies. Since the animals can go to the feeder 24/7 when they are hungry. It doesn’t take long to go in and brush them and get out a toy

There isn’t a specific one, it’s all down to player preference. It would have been cool to have a preferred habitat for the beasts

There actually is a guide! I was thinking the same thing today, and if you find the Reddit thread for “which beasts in which vivarium” someone has solid answers and evidence that it works - I checked cause I noticed my nifflers and hippogriffs were trying to scrap (lol) and turns out there’s a way to set up vivariums so that all the beasts are happy :)

⁠@@Born2Game:there kind of is a preferred habitat or at least an ideal on the coastal and grasslands are for the hippogriffs,the grasslands also gets shared by the legendary Phoenix and mooncalfs, the dark/swamp vivarium is for thestrals,toads,and unicorns aka the dark/nighttime like animals,the coastal one gets shared by the graphorns&jobberknolls and the forest vivariums is for the cute animals like nifflers,puffskeins,and kneazles then you can place the fwoopers and diricawls whereever you have room since the fwoopers&diricawls don’t have preferred habitats but the unicorns,toads,thestrals,hippogriffs,jobberknolls,puffskeins,kneazles,nifflers,Phoenix and mooncalfs all have preferred/ideal habitats along with the graphorns having ideal/preferred habitats

You can fly and land on Hogwarts 100%. Ravenclaw even has a roof access doorway that can only be accessed by flying. I do feel your frustration with not being able to cross the mountains though. That sucks when you just want to go in a straight line across sections of the map.

@@viperseyes8651 I haven't found those landing spots yet, I guess I was more just focusing on landing on whatever I can y'know? Like there are several flat spots on the castle, that won't let you land

They don’t grow up, they stay as offspring

@@Born2Gametechincally I wouldn’t say they don’t grow up it just might take longer for them to grow up aka the original growing up cycle of a magical beast aka the same way a baby witch or a baby wizard takes years to grow up

@@Born2Game ok, understood. but what I do not understand is this...let us say I have 4 species in each vivarium, the vivariums each have 12 active beasts in them. This makes them all of my vivariums full according to my understanding. If I mate 2 beasts and they have an offspring that makes a 13th active beast for that particular vivarium. Is that 13th beast delivered to the vivarium, your bag, or do you get a warning that because the vivarium is full you cannot mate until there is an opening? I am trying to see if I need to leave open slots for offspring since I read that they never grow up. Or does the vivarium not count offspring because they are not adults?

@@TheTekSoneyou need room for the offspring so like 4 or 5 spots at a time for the offspring you can’t breed beasts unless you have a spot for the offspring to go into.

@@TheTekSoneyou would basically have to take a certain number of beasts out of the vivarium to make room for the offspring in the vivarium then you can switch them back as long as you have room in your nab sack you can eventually move the babies to certain spots in the nab sack so they won’t take up room in the vivariums 24-7

@@TheTekSonebut in order for the babies to go into the vivariums aka to be born you would need to have room in the vivarium for the baby beasts first. I have 6 thestral offsprings mainly because deek teaches you how to breed thestrals and you have bred thestrals-fwoopers for one of the challenges aka 10 unique beast I just moved certain baby beasts to my nab sack until I decide to do more since the vivariums can only 12 beasts at one time you only need 1 male and 1 female of the same species in the vivarium to breed babies since the last 4 spots in the vivarium can be switched out between baby beasts and adult beasts

You don't fucking need 20 of them. Just sell the ones you don't need

@@RyanGribbletechincally people can keep them and switch them out if needed also you have to mix the beasts in the vivariums hence why the vivariums can hold 4 different beasts since the last 4 spots in each vivarium are for baby beasts as long as people have room in there nab sack there is room for to keep more than 2 of each beasts. The only problem is not having room for the others without switching them out in the vivariums because of the vivariums being limited plus you can have a beast inventory. Since we only mainly need to interact with the beasts when we need materials or offsprings. Plus you don’t even have to use to mix the beasts unless you want to but you can switch out beasts

@Memeteam5050:you can keep them and just switch them out with the other ones when you need something from them. Just make sure you have room in your nab bag to switch out beasts. The vivariums can only hold 12 beasts and 4 different kinds of beasts at one time.

@@RyanGribbleunless the devs want to update the nab sack and vivarium spots for us to hold extra beasts which we can hold extra beasts anyway since we can house almost over 50 beasts because of the vivariums and the nab sack

Unfortunately not, you get 4 vivariums so you can house all the species in the game though

@@truthwarrior1358you do 2 more quests for deek plight of the house elf and the foal of the dead. You get 4 vivariums by doing 4 different quests for deek. Aka story progression and keeping up with quests for deek

@@truthwarrior1358deek is in control of you get 3 more vivariums after the first one. Since he gives you quests to do for each of the 4 vivariums first then you have to fully do the quests entirely then you’ll get certain vivariums

@@Born2Gamethe swamp vivarium resembles their natural habitat just like you can find unicorns and toads along with the thestrals at night time so the thestrals,toads and unicorns all go in the dark/swamp vivarium.

Thank you and shiny beasts just spawn in the dens at random so it’s based on luck but if you capture them all, use the wait feature on your map then fast travel to the nearest floo flame then go back all the beasts will respawn so you can try for a shiny again 👍

@@GuitarsAndSynthsthe vivarium should unlock after you finish the quest for deek for that specific request. Aka after you fully finish the quest

It’s the house relic uniform and it’s obtained by finding all the dedaelian keys and opening the house chest but it’s a different robe for each house and my one is Gryffindor only 👍

On PC the default key is 'H'. But if you look to the bottom right corner of the HUD there should be a paw print symbol and a hotkey next to it to tell you how to bring up the beast management page.

In each vivarium and progress in the game eventually unlocks 4 vivariums 👍

@@Born2Game yeah I just unlocked the one with the ocean in it. I just dont like running around in all 4 vivariums though 😂

It would definitely help organization and deciding where to put them. I feel like some are out of place in the environment because you can't fit all species in an environment that fits them.

You can have male and female because you unlock breeding later in the game but you get a max of 4 different species in each vivarium 👍

Story progress

First Vivarium is after completing Deek's quests in showing you how to capture beasts particularly the Puffskin, Jobberknoll & Mooncalf. I forget which quest is tied to the second (Coastal) one. It's definitely after the first but before these other two. I do know the third (Swamp) is tied to the Thestral breeding quest. And, the final one is tied to rescuing the Phoenix.

After you rescue the Phoenix. As in turning the quest in to Deek, and the 4th Vivarium unlocks, during the cinematic, and the phoenix puts itself in there, completely on its own without the player doing it.

They have 2 each and some resources like horklump juice and moonstone

@@Born2Gamethere is only one Phoenix total in the game it’s the only one of its kind the rest of the phoenix’s are extinct. The game doesn’t allow us to get more than one Phoenix you won’t find another Phoenix after the one from Phoenix mountain cave it’s the last Phoenix hence why deek wanted us to catch it and keep it safe there’s no more phoenixs it’s the very last Phoenix

It’s the very last Phoenix of its kind hence why deek asks us to keep it safe from poachers. And dragons is no because there’s only 13 beasts for us to catch plus the dragons are enemies in the game hippogriffs,kneazles,fwoopers,jobberknolls,nifflers,unicorns,giant purple toads,puffskeins, mooncalfs,diricawls,thestrals, 2 graphorns, and one legendary Phoenix and the only ones we can breed are mooncalfs-hippogriffs aka 12 out of 13 beasts we catch because we are allowed only one Phoenix since the others Phoenixes don’t exist anymore/are extinct

You can put 12 beasts, you’re just limited to 4 different species until you unlock new vivariums 👍
