The $1.4 billion Burnaby Hospital redevelopment project is among the province's largest health care investments. It will see new patient care towers, new cancer centre, and expansion and renovations to existing buildings on campus, providing the community with improved access to quality care.
As part of this redevelopment comes many stages, steps and pieces and last week, we 'welcomed' three boilers that are needed for this project. With a weight of over 18,000 lbs each, we had to 'bring out the big guns' and our unit #5160 was up for the task. She did beautifully and lined them all up perfectly in our new storage facility so that the massive pieces wouldn't take more space than necessary and leave room for any other materials that will be coming our way.
