Any real Cornhusker fan went into this season knew this would not be an easy task. I have full confidence in Scott Frost and his staff. We had 136 kids on the roster at the beginning of the season. 93 of those kids are freshmen and sophomores. Do the math folks. We are starting a true freshman quarterback that to me is an amazing player who is only inexperienced. Be patient, yes this sucks, but be patient and support this team. This is Nebraska and our fan base is loyal to our team.

I’m a Texas Tech student and a Texas Tech fan through and through, but I’ll always have a like for Nebraska because of my Dad. So I’m speaking from a mostly unbiased but hopeful standpoint: Nebraska football is on the RISE. 0-6 sucks and it hurts to watch, but I’ve noticed very significant improvement over the past 2 weeks, mostly from freshman and sophomores. Frost entered a program that was a dumpster fire full of players that weren’t conditioned and don’t play anything close to the style Frost wants them to play. Most of the offseason had to be spent just teaching them how his system works rather than working on execution. This was never gonna be a good start. Keep your heads up, Husker fans. They are improving. Frost didn’t get lucky when he turned a winless team into an undefeated team in 2 years. He knows what he’s doing and it won’t be long until Nebraska is back to national prominence.

Michigan grad here: Stick with Frost. Your team is improving and the Big Ten needs a strong Nebraska team to balance the conference. Rich Rod ruined my Wolverines. Brady Hoke couldn't develop players but Hoke recruited well and left Harbaugh with much more to work with than Frost inherited. Once you have Frost's recruits on the team you should challenge Wisconsin for West Division dominance. That may take 2-3 years but I think that will happen.
I'm another Michigan fan and I also believe frost is gonna get Nebraska back to where they belong. And to be honest, I don't like frost. But he will have teams fearing Nebraska again. So hang in there with your team. I'll be trolling and hating on y'all when you get good again.

I'm a graduate of Texas A&M, but long time Husker fan. I started following the Huskers circa 1980 because of Tom Osborne's coaching style and philosophy. It's no different with Scott Frost. Nebraska is on "solid ground" for the future. Keep the faith.

Frequently Bo lost big games because staff didn't make second half adjustments. Bo's best season was 10-4 if I recall correctly and not one marquee bowl. 0-6 is a very small sample size to be begging to bring back arrogance and mediocrity.
It's not like he inherited the 97 team for 98, he inherited a mixed bag of talent that he didn't totally recruit. He said early on, it's going to get worse before it gets better and they will be doing some losing before they start winning. And yes, the coaching staff has a growth and learning curve too. So...haters are haters no matter what.

I'm hurting pretty bad. Last year and so far this year they have been blown out or blown leads. I'm with this staff 100%. Our coaches can only do so much and only make so many adjustments before they are making these players play outside their capabilities which I don't even want to think what that would like. The secondary makes the same damn mistakes over and over. I literally think the opposing team just throws to whoever Bootle is covering because they know he will not turn around and Nebraska will be flagged. Easy first down. I just want to see this team turn it around. They have got to play smarter. Like I said I'm hurting. Bad. The past year and a half has become overwhelming.

I've been a fan for 46 years.This is what I see so far.First,the kids don't want to win...bad enough,meaning when it was 28-14 they thought we got this won,they didn't say ok,now let's pour it on,let's bury them.They don't have that type of desire in them.They play stupidly,offensive and defensive penalties at critical times and that's not inexperience it's flat out stupidity.I see no improvement on defense from last year,we give up about 39pts a game,you won't win doing that.The secondary,we don't have one,there are no guys who get beat trying to bat the ball away or go for the interception,our guys just flat out let the receiver run by them or give them a 10 yard cushion and let them catch the ball.Frost is making a ton of mistakes play-calling.If they can't stop the run which they weren't then you keep running it,you get yards and tds that way and you chew up the clock,but he's trying to be too flashy too balanced.Martinez is good but not that good better in 2 or 3 years that's why you run more because it takes the pressure off him passing.Pickering missed a FG and PAT here it is overtime 4th down Frost should have kicked the FG and gave the kid a chance to make up for his mistakes if he misses then he misses you get nothing or do like he did go for it and watch a 3stooges fumbling bumbling misplay that made us look very bad and stupid.Think about it we had them at their own 1 yd line the odds of going 99yds and getting a score are tremendous but they did.That has to be terrible coaching by the defensive coach or kids that have no killer instinct,no shut-down instinct or both.If guys are getting penalties stupid penalties even if they are your so-called leaders and best at that position,you yank them off the field and replace them and they don't play anymore that game,that's discipline a coach has to do,but Frost isn't.31-21 with five minutes left in the game and you don't win,that's just terrible coaching and a lack of DESIRE I didn't say effort I said DESIRE on the players part.Frost played for Osborne learned from him but at this point I wouldn't know it.Here's the skinny,if they want to have a chance to win run the ball 1st down run the ball 2nd down maybe pass 3rd down,and repeat until you are safely 2 tds ahead then maybe you can pass a 2nd down here and there.We are Nebraska and our legacy is built on toughness on both sides of the ball and a punishing running game at this point we have neither.Don't try and say a running team can't win nowdays because we're not winning on any days.
You have to have running backs that can run the ball before you can run it on the first two downs. When you are at midfield with three minutes to go you don't try to run it up the middle three times when you know your O line and Running back can't make the plays.
Yes you do run the ball with 3 minutes to go and you don't snap the ball until about 2 seconds left on the play clock,you try to move the ball and chew the clock did I say run it 3 times up the middle in that situation,no, there's off tackle plays,bootleg,whatever,that's what I mean Frost is making bad calls,we have other running plays that he could have called.Ozigbo had 150yds,we do have running backs that can run the ball,and we have a line that made those holes for him.Maybe next year Frost will figure out to run more plays from under center and with a fullback in the backfield as a lead blocker instead of this shotgun stuff.

Why don't you just be a regular fan and leave the coaching to people who actually know football. You just know how to watch football, not coach it. PS: you proved that you're out of touch when you don't even know that frost will never just go with a fullback and the quarterback under center. That's never been his system. But I'd rather win 6-3 than lose at any senereo. Those 3 yards and a cloud of dust days are done, only should be used to close out games where you have the lead, to run out the clock, not as a full game strategy. We support you and your staff. Having said that, it’s concerning the defensive side continues to struggle. Maybe I’m no one to offer advise to coach Frost, but I would definitely start paying attention to that side of the ball.
Watching this to see how much Coach Frost takes responsibility for this egregious and historic loss. His play calling at the end of the game raises many questions.
Give it time. The players lack the athleticism needed to be functional. By players I mean the defensive secondary and O - line. Their inability to make plays hamstrings the whole team. Obviously, the staff has proven to win. Hopefully the players can just try to do better.
There is absolutely no reason Nebraska should have lost this game today. Northwestern ass just as terrible as we were, and yet we took a two score lead. Twice. And _still_ found a way to lose the game. This kind of loss is not acceptable, and there's plenty of blame all around.
Coach Frost is right..."one more play." That's something that comes from inside every player on the team. They need to buy in to the idea that, if "I" make one more play, the team can win. People really have no idea what lifting 5 or 10 more reps during weights will do to help make that "one more play", or how increasing your speed by .01 second will help do that. And, Lord, the penalties! Don't block a guy in the back when you're 40 yards away from the play. When the snap count is two, don't jump on one. The good thing is that every one of the mistakes Nebraska has made this season CAN ALL BE FIXED. Remember that these are 18-22 year old kids, and this is a learning experience. Coach Frost is trying to teach them about what's carved on the southwest corner of our Memorial Stadium: Not the victory but the action; Not the goal but the game; In the deed the glory. Sure, we've lost six, but I feel that if we could have executed that "one more play" attitude, we could just as easily be 4-2 or even 5-1. Football is a beautiful thing. I and a lot of other Husker fans know it's the best game in the world, and we have been among it's very best. When you look at NU's all-time record, you'll see that there are very few schools who can claim the success we've had. Since 2003, when we got rid of Frank Solich (the last Husker coach to coach in a national championship game), it went downhill. It's been 15 years since we've had a coach with Nebraska attitude. By that, I mean we used to beat people by playing the game better than they did. That's where we need to be again. Like the team says in the pregame prayer, "Day by day, we get better and better. The team that can't be beat, WON'T BE BEAT." We need to find THAT attitude again. When we do, in one year or two years, (I will paraphrase Richard Nixon here), "You won't have Nebraska to kick around any more." Thanks for letting me vent, and I'm sorry to take up so much space. Go, Big Red. Go.

Most players on this Nebraska team were not recruited by team frost. The majority were their before he came. He was given a roster that was left by the previous coaching staff. Lets see what happens in the upcoming recruiting process.
This was not a game that Nebraska deserved to win, and that is because they let Northwestern take it away from them. If a team wants to win a game, they have to play a full 60 minutes and sometimes extra, like today and close the opponent out. Nebraska failed to do that, in perhaps the worst way yet. This game was more promising than other games, but in the end, still a team loss, including the coach(es). Playing not to lose and handing the ball off three times up the middle when you know you need at least one first down to kill off the rest of the clock was an indication that Scott Frost also needs to bone up a little on how to "play to win" a football game. With the Nebraska defense tired and playing not too well at that point, he looked like he was just fine with running three plays and pinning NW back at its goal line. And who knows, it might have worked if Nebraska just didn't have yet another in a series of the most idiotic mistakes that one team can make time after time, week after week. But going back to that previous series where the Huskers recovered that onside kick, up the field, Frost (or whoever was calling the plays) showed no trust in his QB and basically handcuffed Martinez by having him just hand off (Unless, Martinez himself audibled into those plays). Ok, yes, the play on third down seemed to be attempting a little misdirection and got the ball into Spielman's hands, but still, it left Adrian Martinez out of the play. There is a saying, "you dance with who brung ya!" I see not better time to point to that saying than right here, he is the catalyst for this offense, and the coach needs to do more with him at that juncture, than just having him hand off. Ok, so mostly there is improvement on both sides of the ball, especially the offense. The defense is not good, but I think some of those players out there have severe limitations and are trying their best. I saw very little of the OT, I had a previous commitment, that I couldn't miss, but I saw a replay of the 4th down attempt, and once again a critical mistake by the Nebraska center. So everyone still needs to get better, and concentrate more, and finish the job, but a win is coming, hopefully next week! GBR!
Scott Frost needs our support more now than ever. He's a great coach who will bring us back to power house football and national championships. Gotta let him know we know! The training wheels will be off in 2019!

Ronnie Nichols Thanks man. Respect to you. Frost is the right guy. He just needs time, our program has literally been run into the ground by our 3 previous coaches and former AD’s. Give him 3-5 years and we will at least be back contending for Big10 🏆. In my eyes I’ll be happy when he jus gets us back to being respectable again, that all I’m asking for at the moment lol. A school like Nebraska should always atleast be in the top 25. Just get us ranked and keep us ranked, he does that and he’ll be a success in my eyes.
Coach Frost and his staff should have stayed at UCF. He had something special brewing down there in Florida with all that talent. The new age of spread offenses isn’t treating this current era of Cornhusker football well because they cannot recruit the type of elite 4-5 ⭐️ blue chip athletes regionally to fit that style of football.

Between poor play calling (on O and D), continued Special Teams dumpster fires, and harebrained penalties that just don't get fixed... confidence in the leadership of this team will not persist.

I sincerely apologize, I know he's scott's guy, but coach chinander needs to change or needs to go! obviously poor def. play calling. I'd take Bo back as a def. coordinator in a HEARTBEAT! All the games we've played, if the defense play calling was even DECENT I think we'd be a one, maybe two loss team.
Bo lacks the maturity to hold any coaching position. Chinander is fine. The secondary as well as our offensive line are the ones that are not making plays.
Not disagreeing with you on Bo's maturity one bit, but he ran a HELL of a good defense for Solich, and I believe we were in the top 5 in takeaways AND sacks during that time. Its not that I do not like Coach Chinander, but his defensive calling/lack of adjustments has always been masked by Coach Frosts offense and points on the board. I am a DIE HARD Husker fan, through and through, but his defense was suspect even at UCF. Look at EVERY game at UCF, if they had an "Alabama type/strength" on defense, every game they played this last year at UCF would have been BLOWOUTS.
Other than Michigan, we have scored enough points to win these games. And I'm not throwing COMPLETE shade at Chinander, but there needs to be some adjustments, if it is the line or the secondary getting burned. I LOVE Coach Frost and I DEFINITELY believe he will turn this team around. And after what we have been through the last 10+ years I have all the patience in the world for him to right the ship and I know he will. GBR!!!!!!!!!

How much of his scheme do you think he has to hold back every week because he knows they can't do this or that. If Bootle can't figure out by now that he can't hug the receiver and not turn around he's going to be called for PI. Our secondary gives the receivers either too much space or they get flagged. I would reevaluate Chinander once he has his guys. Hopefully when he gets his guys they are an effective high risk high reward defense.

The things that are happening on the field are on the coaches to get straightened out during the week and today frost was the reason this team lost. All the fans from big red country was there cool . I will be honest that Martinez over shot some plays but our running backs were awesome we will get Minnesota this weekend.
They need to remember, you can't recruit many people over one year. Scott Frost is one of the good ways we will win the national championship. The other good way is for our players to be mentally disciplined and show some more effort on the field.
You could do a study on leadership and positioning with this hire. He came in as Mr. Tough Guy, it's my way or the highway. Get on my bus or get out! This is not the kind of leadership these kids needed. They needed to hear that if you follow our program (conditioning, nutrition, teaching, etc. . .) we will win a lot of games. That's not what they heard. First mistake was his letting the other qb go to OSU. Should have started the first couple of games with a 2 qb system. If he had kept that other qb, they may have won those first 2 or 3 games. But he gave him the old speech, if you don't want to be here leave. He also put way too much pressure on them to win. Pressure causes "analysis leads to paralysis" mistakes (golfers understand this). I could go on and on about his leadership style and how it's not working. This may be a good coaching staff but it's not a great staff. 35 million is a lot of bucks and all you have is a 0-6 team that still doesn't look good on the field. Frost will never lead NU back to the glory years. After 2 more years, NU will be lucky to be competitive with Iowa, Purdue, NW, but not Wisconsin and certainly not the top teams in the eastern division. Time will tell. The sad thing is there is being a ton of money spent for mediocracy.

It was a great matchup. Offense got their workout and Defense got theirs. Far too much emphasis on TE blocking though. Offensive coaches need to dig a bit deeper in the think tank!! Offensive Linex gave it away, Defensive Line gave it away.., and poor play calling in the Fourth Qtr gave it away.

Frost deserves the blame for the loss of this game and part of the blame for this season. I was predicting a 6 win season this year and clearly it’s not going to happen. I think our boys are in better shape under Frost I also feel we had way too many people transfer out of the program. Just so you guys know Nick Saban and Barry Alvarez started out not so hot at Alabama and Wisconsin look how they did later. Still a Frost fan GBR.
