Very helpful. Every time Tonya encourages that they can do more I feel convicted and encouraged. Tara made me think of something my sister mentioned earlier this week, "We all have our little shortcuts. Our children will form their own, so we didn't need to give them ours because now we're just encouraging them to under achieve."

Best intro ever. Ever. Tara’s button will say: ‘Cause the bear will eat your face off.

My children are still young but they struggle with particular letters. So one day I wrote the letter like they wrote it and put it on a sticky note on their forehead. Then in a game-style format someone else had to say a word that they thought had that letter in it. And I made sure that the student that had that struggle with that letter also was guessing on their own letter. It didn't take long at all for them to figure out what was happening and then those letters began to improve over the course of the next week. Just an idea that helped my students think more carefully about their penmanship.

I love this :) I do my best to keep a routine in our classroom. (Said by someone who NEVER had a routine-aside from brushing my teeth, growing up) This just imprinted upon me how important it can be for building trust with kiddos. Thank you.

This was an excellent episode. Thank you! I started using Memoria Press recently because I knew we needed the structure and rigor with our 7 school age children. It is our first year and has been an adjustment, but I get a sense of great reward; not just for myself but my children as well.

I just had a curious thought; you guys are so much more transparent than any public school I have taught for. You freely share your thoughts on what, why, and how things should operate. I can't think of the last time I saw such candidness in a public school. Then again, very few parents with children in public school seem interested in the what, why, and how. I find myself wondering everyday how would a parent react if they just knew that the child sitting next to theirs is prone to explosive emotional, and sometimes violent, responses to seemingly benign actions, while the child on the other side is the top of the classroom social hierarchy and propagates their poorly formed opinions and behaviors to the other children.

With the utmost of charity and best intentions: the audio of your podcast has excessively harsh or pronounced high frequencies. Or the gain is set much too hight making it difficult to listen too. This is consistent across your episodes.
