Working from home on my Metal Art and found this sweet little Blue Tit flying around my room. He was so tame. I had made some Metal Blue Tit mobiles from a drawing I did of them on the feeder, but to hold one up close was magic
When I was a young boy I was always fascinated with the local hummingbirds that visited our house. I always imagined what it would be like to hold one in my hand as a friend. Cool video
Yep, a baby. I've helped 4 broods from eggs. Human contact is rare. They like us from a distance. Closest I've come is 1 foot. I don’t touch them, they don’t land on me. We have an understanding.
@@johnhamilton7762 yes not a chick but juvenile or fledgling, sometimes you can tell they're younglings by the color of the feathers. I can tell with thrushes, they have brown spots on their bellies. Apparently with blue tits, those yellow cheeks fade to white when they mature
It almost has adult plumage - slight yellow on cheeks. It’s probably in shock from flying inside and probably hitting a window. Hopefully it fully recovered.
She is holding the bird that is in the coop right next to me 😂 (loves to go in trips with me name: doodle very common in the uk) she loves waking me up at 6 am with her fellow hummingbird friends
It's traumatized. She says she (I think it's female) was in the living room, so I think she crashed into the window or against the wall and that's why she doesn't fly away. You should not touch birds like in the video. We all should treat animals with respect and not touch them in such a situation. It's not voluntary. Normally she would fly away.
Young blue tits look very different so it's not a baby. Not sure if it's a bit under shock or exhausted, but based on its movements it doesnt look stunned tho like it would be after flying into a window. But it's cute for sure, one of my favorite birds. 🥰
