ENG: Mick Hucknall is (and will continue to be) one of the best male singers for decades. ESP: Mick Hucknall es (y seguirá siéndolo) uno de los mejores cantantes masculinos durante décadas.
I was there. This concert in Antwerp. I couldn't help crying when he started to sing. And I still do, everytime I watch this video. And in november 2015 I will be in Antwerp again with the Big Love Tour. I bet I'm gonna sing, dance and cry. :-) Thanks Mick. I love you.
He's one of those rare singers who never makes it about his voice or showing off, even though his voice remains magnificent and rare. It's always about the song.
I was blessed to see SR on their last tour of the US. They only played two venues. Here in Los Angeles where I live and Radio City in NY. Small, only 2,800 seats. One night. I had tickets before they went on sale, and the new venue hadn't even opened (Nokia Live). Front row. I was 55 at the time but I felt like I was 16. At the end, those of us who could, made it to the front of the stage as Mick went down the line slapping hands.....I was one of them. Got to meet and talk at length with Ian Kirkham, Dave Clayton and Kevin Robinson. Great guys.
I saw Simply Red at the Radio City Music Hall leg of their tour in NYC. Sold out! Best concert I ever attended ( and I was at Live Aid ). I'm not even a big concert person. But I enjoyed that one so much because I knew all the words to every song. I would say through most of the concert everyone was on their feet. Such a diverse mix of people. Still get goosebumps.
Took.my wife to see simply reds farewell concert in Nottingham UK.. (more for the Mrs than myself as I'm more of a rock lover) I was a little dubious if he still had the voice at 50 that was do popular in the 80/90s and I've got to admit the guy was awesome.. Note perfect
It was an awesome performance! But I'm glad Angie (who is awesome also) didn't keep singing with Mick. Let Mick roll by himself. With that hella nice live band/orchestra and those really good background singers, just let Mick do his thing😎
There's something borderline weird about Mick's voice, in a good way. I mean he sings live many times better than on recordings, but even at this age his voice hasn't changed much. The guy must not have ever smoke and got some weird genes going on. :D
Last line & favorite line: " That's all I have today, it's all to say!" Now, I have to see Mick & Angie do Angie's version! Now, that would be hot!! 🔥 💘
Mick........."You and me to".......are......'.Holding back the years.'..!! (me 70 years YOUNG) But hey !.... YOU..... are still sing as good as ever ....and mature.!!.!! Fantastic .man...a..... 'living legend' I hope to see you one day live.!! I wish you would come to Philippines.. .not Manila..CEBU..!!!! Mickey Marlborough. (sometimes UK) and my 'Jammin Sessions ' in .(Cebu City Philippines)...(.Liloan Market Place.)
His voice is simply amazing, and the meaning behind it makes it that much more but she's helping it none at all. This is one he needs no help with at all.
You're right - it is always about the song, The inflection is in the same place at the same time - since the beginning, Never oversings. Perfect! See you in 2025!
Love "Night of the Proms". Just wished I knew when PBS was broadcasting it - thank God for RU-vid, get to catch what I missed. Didn't miss this performance though. Still my favorite besides (Tears for Fears)
mrbillhicks A leprechaun is a magical creature, able to make himself appear whatever the audience desires. The captor deceived by how he looks has the brains of a rabbit.
I may well be an asshole Cricket my good friend and Hucknall may well have a heart which is better than mine but I know how to spell cuiter.... He does look like a wee Leprechaun though.....
