Holiday Chocolate and Orange Braided Sweetened Condensed Milk Bread 

1 Tbsp instant yeast 1 cup slightly warm whole milk 2 Tbsp sugar ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk 3¼ cups all purpose flour 1 egg 1 tsp sea salt Vanilla extract ¼ cup & 3 Tbsp soften butter Sweetened condensed milk Cocoa powder 1 egg for egg wash Mix first 7 ingredients. While mixing add 1 tsp of vanilla. Add more flour if sticky. Add ¼ cup soften butter. Scrape out dough and shape into a ball. Cut in half. Add 1 ball to bowl, add ¼ tsp of orange extract or vanilla. Knead for 5 mins. Set aside out of bowl and cover. Get other ball, put in bowl. In separate bowl add ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk and 3 Tbsp black cocoa powder. Mix well, add quickly to dough, mix and knead for 5 mins. If to wet add little flour. Put 2 dough balls in separate bowls, spray with oil to keep from drying out and cover. Let rise for 1‐1½ hours. Deflate both balls and take out off balls and roll out into a rectangle. Lay orange on top of the chocolate so that the edges line up. Cut the bottom ⅔ into 4 sections. Cut each section into 3 strips. One section at a time twist 3 strips and braid. Repeat for other 3 sections. Put braids together. Start at top and roll tightly all the way down. Put in a buttered bread pan. Cover and rise for about 45 mins until doubled in size. Top it with egg wash (1 egg, 1 tsp water). Bake @ 375°F 30-35 mins. Mix 3 Tbsp of sweetened condensed milk and butter- glaze. Put glaze on bread right after baking. Let cool before cutting.

Oh my the combinations would be endless with this bread. How about lemon with cranberries or blueberries with a lemon glaze or chocolate and white chocolate with a orange glaze or white chocolate with cranberries with a white chocolate glaze, ??????????? endless.

I made a sourdough variation of this beautiful bread several times... to rave reviews. I had never made a braided bread before. I did it with orange and chocolate once, and vanilla and chocolate another time, and once I even wrapped each strand of braid around almond paste. Omg!
