I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tips you can give me
@Madden Karter thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hello Megan, I am now a grandma otherwise known as “Gaga”. I love and appreciate all that you share with us and please know that you are valued as a woman of God. Anyone that watches your videos it’s so blessed to have you in their lives as I am. As I was watching your little one not wanting to leave grandmas house it hit home because that is how my grandkids are with me. I understand the struggle for you of not knowing whether to be offended that your child wants to stay with grandma or be happy that they love their grandma so much please choose in your mind the latter because you will be there someday and when your grand children want to spend time with you it is priceless. You have a beautiful mother. I pray that you will have a peaceful, smooth and memorable Thanksgiving this year with your family. God bless and I am so blessed to get to know you. Hugs to you and your sweet babies, Veronica😘
I gave up Instagram about 7 months ago and I’m so happy I did. I know there’s a lot of good stuff there but there toxic stuff far outweighs the positive in my opinion. I’ve never been someone to follow trends, I buy & wear what I like not caring if it’s “trendy” or not. It’s very refreshing. The amount of people who love their lives by what’s popular on Instagram is extremely sad to me.
I'm not a young mom with young children. In fact, I am a 66 year old husband, father of 2 & grandfather of 12, who absolutely LOVES to watch your videos! What a breath of fresh air you are! I am a conservative Christian who appreciates your lifestyle & the way you & Josh are raising your children. Your organizing skills, and your ability to get things done, just amaze me. You are one busy lady! Keep up the good work & may God richly bless you & your beautiful family.
Yes!! Our chief teacher (don’t know the english term for such a man 🤪) always said: Ignore, distract and praise! Works mostly with children, but sometimes it helps a lot with stubborn or unpolite adults as well, lol!
I always love your videos, but you made my day talking about my passion, Operation Christmas Child! Those were BEAUTIFUL boxes!! I am blessed to serve as a year round volunteer as Area Coordinator in Southern Oregon.... and this year I had the amazing opportunity to go on a distribution trip to Liberia and I can assure you that each gift makes such a difference! The joy of the children was overwhelming and best of all I saw so many many many Muslim children come to Christ! THANK YOU!
Love the day in the life.... I'm nearly 50 with no kids at home and videos inspire me in so many ways Megan. Thank you for being real, it makes you more real to us and more relatable. Also loved seeing your mum's porch, it looked gorgeous.
Happy Thanksgiving! I'd love to see a farm tour! Definitely understand the hurt feelings of not being invited. When I was your age I used to struggle with FOMO (fear of missing out) badly. I'm an introvert but still love connecting with people, so it stung to be left out. But I realized often those people leaving me out weren't "my" people. I'm 35 and still keep that in mind. It can still sting to be left out of a social function, and then I remember that hanging out with those people before wasn't even that fun, or they weren't really my kindred friends - and in those instances I really wished I was home instead! Now I'm relieved when I don't get invited to an event of shallow socializing. Don't forget that there are a lot of viewers who feel connected with you and wish they could include you in some social time, too!
Love how you train your children to clean and give............I’m sure you teach them a lot more. They’ll grow up knowing how to live life. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
Megan, I think we all think that way (about not being invited to something) !!! Thank you so much for this video! We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and I was very impressed with the flooring that you chose and I am going to look into this type of flooring for my kitchen. My kitchen hasn't been remodeled since 1999 when my DH decided that he wanted to put in a built-in dishwasher, and while cutting a hole where the original bottom cupboards were, he goofed while measuring. Immediately after the measuring mishap, he came into my sewing room and said: "Uh, Honey, how much do we have in the savings account?" Which surprised me so I said, "Why?" He went on to explain what happened, and then said: "Well, instead of waiting for another 2 yrs, I think we need to go find new cupboards, appliances, and flooring." WOW....I was absolutely thrilled with his mistake, and we, of course, re-did the kitchen!!! I have struggled with the fact that the kitchen remodel was one of my DH's very last remodeling projects in our home before he passed away 2 yrs later and so I have fought the urge to change the kitchen completely, although I realize that it is silly to think along those lines, etc. I am considering painting the cupboards WHITE (they are oak cupboards, etc) and really want to change the kitchen complete with new flooring, appliances, countertop, etc. and your video has really made me decide that right after the New Year, it's OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW!!! So, off to measuring the floor and getting some prices and estimates!!! I really liked the flooring you chose!
I love how real you are with us. I know what it's like not being invited to a party. I'm an introvert so I'm not much of a talker. I think I was forgotten about since I was never very outgoing. But like the lady said, you create your own party. You can create a fun holiday (surprise, maybe?) for you and your family. What fun would that be?! Also, I really love the new flooring! It's gorgeous! And yes for a farm tour! It reminds me so much of my great aunt's farm. She had similar chimes and I remember how peaceful they sounded. That house kind of brings me back to my childhood. :) Thanks for being such a humble, down-to-earth person. Sending many blessings to you and your family!!!
Totally get feeling “uninvited” 💙 Lysa Terkeurst actually has an amazing book called Uninvited, and it helped me so much! Momma seasons are busy and hard to walk through sometimes, but so worth it!
My son would burst into tears, run and hide when I’d pick him up from his day care (only child- boring mom 🤷🏻♀️). Good thing they knew me like family. ❤️
Hi Megan. I love using great containers to become more organized! It makes you feel so good when you can open cabinets and find exactly what you want. I’m in the process of trying to get rid of things I no longer use and donate to someone who can use them. Josh is so cute doing his video, I loved how you wanted to get a sneak peek at him talking on video. The floor is so pretty and will probably be so easy to care for. That will be great with the children. It was nice seeing your home place and Gran Jan. I love her grandma name! Her porch and home was so pretty! It would be awesome if you did a video on where you grew up on the farm some time! My grand children usually aren’t ready to leave my house either, it makes me feel so good that they love me so much! It tickled me when Evonie got you a snack too. My grand children think they always get a goodie when they leave grandma’s house too. It was so sweet watching Evonie while y’all were fixing the Christmas boxes. When she would say, this is mine, was very sweet! It is wonderful that you’re teaching her at such a young age the importance of giving to others. I’m sorry you became a little bummed when you were on Instagram. I sometimes feel the same way when I feel like I was left out or forgotten when it comes to my friends. Try not to let it get you down. You’re such a sweet young woman and you have so many you tube and Instagram friends followers. We all love following you and your life as a Mennonite wife and mom. I always look forward to each of your videos. I love your bubbly, happy, exciting personality. You’re so inspirational to me! I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving!
You are absolutely amazing and I wish I had the energy you have!! I live way down south and when we are storing any of our root crops we put them in as cool and dry a place as we can and always in a single layer. I am sure there are a lot of people who know way more than I do but I have always been told to take all produce out of plastic bags as soon as you get it home.
I love watching you Megan. I am a 54 yr old christian woman with 4 kids and 2 grand kids...yet i am drawn to your channel. I tried Instagram for about a year and I had to stop because what I don know is better than what I do!! too many post that left me feeling left out and not good enough . I was in a Bible Study when things seemed to come to a peak and I knew I needed to unplug.,seriously heard God whisper to ignore the world and focus on him. I had never done any other social media for just that very reason....I knew how I would feel. You are a doll...and God created each of us with unique gifts. If you felt left out if is their loss...Keep up the great things you do. I love your heart.
The flooring really is beautiful 😊 Don't worry about renovations, everything in its season. Y'all work so hard. Enjoy family time and the holidays. 👍 I quit all social media, except for RU-vid, and I'm so much happier. I'm not saying everyone should, but it's something to consider if it's making you feel left out or not good enough.
It's always hard to see friends enjoying something without you! Even if it was your choice not to include yourself, you can't believe they went ahead and had fun on their own, haha. I don't know how to make you feel better with this - sometimes it just doesn't feel great. A few years ago, you would have had no idea it was happening. Now it's all out there on IG and it can be difficult. Wishing you and your family a lovely Thanksgiving, Megan!
I’m laughing, my 22 month old always wails loudly when she has to leave grandmas house or when grandma and the aunts need to leave our house! I guess I used to do the same thing at that age! (And older😬)
We have a small breakfast nook in our kitchen that I put crates from Joann’s underneath for our potatoes and onions. I put wheels underneath the crates for easy puking in and out.
Omg Megan I feel the same way at times as well. It’s kind of hard to stay connected to friends when you are busy busy being responsible in life! Lol No worries, you are not alone!
I have windowless laundry/ pantry room where I store potato’s and onions etc. I never store veggies near chemicals. Even my detergent and softener are kept outside the entry door to the laundry room in the garage.
I can see the improvement in your videos over time. I can tell you're working hard and would like you to know that I noticed and I really appreciate you
I NEED YOUR ENERGY! LOL ugh you are great at organizing and showing that Mennonites are real people who have real feelings. God bless and Happy Thanksgiving
Megan, you do such a good job with your videos, pics, etc. I just love your kids!!!!!! Thanks for being real at the end. I can relate. Sometimes feel unwanted or unworthy of friendships. It can get me down , but I have so much to be thankful for. Keep up the good work @
I would enjoy seeing the farm where you grew up! I’m an introvert, so I shudder when I think I might be invited and I’ve come up with some clever ways to get out of invitations. Business travel was always my go to reason for declining just about everything. I’d just rather eat bees than attend a social event! I don’t keep potatoes around much, but when I do, I have a special sack that I keep on the lower shelf of my butcher block just for them. Thanks for the video. 😎
Wow! Yeah can't relate. Except when I'm pregnant and haven't told anyone yet. Then I feel like I have to get creative to get out of things when I'm too tired!
Hi Megan I think that there will be two little girls so happy to receive those Samaritans Purse Christmas boxes. What lovely things you have put in them! X
Growing up we had a free standing cabinet called a "tater bin". It is currently in my home and it's what I use to store my potatoes. It's not the most eye catching, but if you don't like the natural wood design, I'm sure a little painting skills could make it look really cute. I just like the natural wood, because it reminds me of childhood. 😊❤ Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 😍
I just wanted to let you know that you are so so cool. You know I haven't even watched this video but I've watched others that you've made and I was just running through the list of videos that just popped up. in my mind it just ran through to let you know that I think you are so so cool. May you always be blessed.
Great video! I often feel that way when I look at Facebook or Instagram. When I see that several of my friends got together and I wasn't invited, it really just hurts. I hate that it makes me feel that way too. I've actually been trying really hard to not even go on social media and my husband has noticed how much happier and more productive I am.
Megan, just be glad your children want to stay with their grandma. What if they cried for you everytime you left them. Yes you will be a grandma one day and will understand the otherside of this part of life. As my son said Mama I never have to worry about my child when I leave her with you. Sorry you feel left out and Thanks for a great video. You and your family are a precious Christian family and I am so blessed to be able to be part of it. Happy Thanksgiving!
Love this video, I’m slowly but surely trying to organize/purge. You’re so right, we own our things, they don’t own us! And no, it’s no lie to choose your angle. And just look at those floors! Want!!!!!
I take my potatoes out of the plastic bag they come in because that plastic makes them rot faster. I store them in a plastic bin with a lot of holes so they have good air circulation. Keep in a lower cabinet (hot air rises and you want to keep spuds cool...but don't put in the fridge as that makes them grainy.) Don't use an under sink cabinet - too close to dampness which speeds up rotting. And store away from onions - they emit ethylene gas and speeds up the ripening process and can cause potatoes to rot and spoil more quickly.
Your operation Christmas child looks so different to ours !! I like both ... ours we have to chose an age and apparently young teenage boys get the least . So we do them .. and we have to include toothbrushes and soap and flannel etc and also pens and pencils and paper as they can’t go to school without those items and a hat and gloves as it’s cold at night .. and we are only asked to put one toy in but I always feel it’s nice to put together just fun things and toys too ... I suppose it depends on which country your boxes are aimed at and which age and gender too !! I am sure the little girls who got your boxes were thrilled to get them xx
Love your videos 🤗 I’m also a mom of 2, a 5 year old and 2 month old. Tip for storing potatoes, if you have a closet close by to your kitchen, even such as a coat closet etc. you can keep your potatoes on the floor of the closet...😀
Thank you for all that you share and letting us in on your lives. My grandmother and parents were mennonite but switched to Methodist before I came along. I have had many questions about being a mennonite and you have been very informative. It helps me be a better me.
I love your Mom's porch reminds me of my grandmother's on the fam I would so love a farm tour ,that would bring back memoires as well I like rhe idea of what you use the drying dish rack , My under the sink bathroom needs a lot of hair products taken to the senior center. I have not used in awhile will do that after the holidays.I keep my potatoes in my pantry closet on the shelf, I love the flooring that is what I have in my kitchen & sunroom next year it is going in the hallway..I love your big airy bright room. The Lord invited you at his Thanksgiving table you are never left out ! You & your family have a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving ! ( Judy )
Hi Megan! I love the way you honored your husband, Josh in this video. You showed us his talents and abilities. You guys are special. I understand about the FOMO thing. Im your moms age or older and it still sneaks up on me too. Im glad God invites me into His presence daily. What can be more exciting than that? You are a wonderful wife & mother!
Megan, love your energy & kindness. Teaching your kids to give is awesome! I was thinking of doing a box & I think they said no play dough. Apparently it melts. Lastly tots get the left out feeling, we all get experience it but a fab person as yourself would be appreciated by many, I am sure it wasn't intentional & if it is then it's not worth it! Your floors look great! Fab job Josh! Take care 🌸
The flooring looks beautiful, go Josh!!! Please share where you grew up and more with your Mom, what a pretty lady. We now know where you get all your beauty. Babies are adorable. Thanks for taking the time to share Megan.
Your videos keep me motivated to get things done, and add a little homemade touch along the way! I've been there, you move out of a home you've put so much love into, for a home that the additional space is needed, but you also see the work ahead it will take to make it "home" to you. I would love to see your family's farm, and the Amish flower farm. I'm already asking my husband about a Lancaster vacation again. He saw the Red Kabose on my GPS a couple days ago:) I've learned to leave facebook alone for the most part. It's freeing.. I reduced my time on there from everyday to 5 minutes on Saturdays. Now I go weeks without thinking about opening it. I'm happier without it. My 15 year old daughter is learning that this week with all the social media friends pull each other into. So excititing to see you share about the OCC, My family goes to Atlanta's processing center to volunteer every year. Think about the millions of boxes that get processed in one center. One year my family packed, Many!! I only packed one of them. It had items I used in my special needs Children's Church, like the little cartoon style children's Bible stories and other little odds and ends. It felt so insignificant, like "how could this impact a child?" That BOX, MY BOX, I ended up with it to "inspect" and the boy across from me said Oh yeah, that is your family! (we put a family picture in each box). And he explained how he processed several like it with the same little stuffed animal. That day felt like God left the flock to rescue one, and I was the one rescued!
Applesauce and cake- my dad. Cake without frosting and milk-my hubs. You are so amazing. I keep praying for the day I have more energy to get things done like that. You're family is so dear. Thanks for sharing!
Totally love the floor we did ours a few years ago, we have one more room but no money to do it right now., thank you for doing the shoe box's for the children over seas.💜 I love doing them for the kids. 💜❄ be blessed
Chocolate cake with applesauce is the best😋 my children are always clogging my sweeper🤦🏽♀️ but I guess they are learning! The other week the sweeper wouldn’t run and it smelled hot. My mechanic dad ended up fixing it my son sucked up a LEGO.
Yes farm tour please! I store my potatoes on the floor of my pantry (it's the kind that's basically a closet) and I usually buy ones in paper bags but if I get the plastic bags I take the potatoes out. I have had a plastic bag of potatoes liquify in my cupboard and it was so gross. They don't do that in paper bags!
Megan you are such a breath of fresh air. I love your videos and how truly real you are. I enjoy each and every thing you share especially with your kindness and ambition to achieve your goals. I am truly grateful to have your videos to brighten up my day and keep me going. I feel the same , you don’t want to feel hurt when you’re not a part of something. It’s happened many times to me. They call it FOMO “fear of missing out”. It’s always fun to be thought and to be a part of things. Human connection is so important to how we all feel and it makes us feel good. May you and your amazing family have a beautiful blessed Thanksgiving. Take care 💜💜💜
My dad used to make crazy cake all the time, and I lost the recipe somewhere along the way! My mom and dad have been gone for a long time now, and I'm feeling a bit melancholy today about some test results that came back that most likely will mean I will have my 6th back surgery. I'm not looking forward to it, but I realize I need it, I have been in pain for over 6 months and just found out I have a fracture in an area that hasn't been operated on. Oh well, I think I'll make a crazy cake tomorrow! Thank you for sharing the recipe just when I didn't even know I needed it! I'll think about Josh when I eat mine not smothered in applesauce!
I use basket with mesh from dollar store that will have air circulation and in a dark place but onions in the same basket just in garage because onions and garlic are ok in cold
LOVE your videos! So real, love all your videos but really love these. I think we all feel that way with social media! My husband's family runs a hunting operation, so for 6wks we pretty much have no life other than that (I love it but its alot) it's hard to see all your friends out doing stuff and not feel bummed. I just have to remind myself, once hunting is over start inviting people out so they know you are done.
We did the shoeboxes this year. To be honest I look forward all year long for it. Lol and you did it like I did with my son. And because he always gets gifts for Christmas I went through his toys and he helped me “keep” or “give” . At first he had a meltdown about the give box but I explained to him that when Jesus came to earth he gave us the best give of his life on the cross and couldn’t we just give a little box to another boy like Jesus? And he cheered right up and loaded the give box in a much happier face. ☺️ I am also trying to do more organizing because we have a small house . Happy thanksgiving to y’all!
Applesauce Cake A quick and easy cake--we eat it for breakfast at our house." Ingredients1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1 cup chilled applesauce2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon ground cloves ½ cup raisins ½ cup chopped walnuts DirectionsCream butter or margarine with sugar. Add applesauce; beat well. Stir in flour, soda, and spices. Add nuts and raisins.Pour the batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes, or until done. Serve warm.
If your house was always tidy and spotless with 2 kiddos that age then we'd know it wasn't authentic! I live a totally different life than you in the midwest, but the stage of life we're in with little ones always runs the same it seems. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your channel but now I can't turn it off because you are so well spoken and just a gem!
I have Tupperware onion/garlic and potato containers that I keep on the countertop, I feel like it helps to keep (especially the potatoes) to stay good for longer
I have similar flooring in my master bath. The previous owners put it in. It looks like tile instead of wood, but I love it because I can wake up in the morning and walk into my bathroom barefoot even in the winter and the floor isn’t cold at all! I have built in baskets (they even pull out) in one of my kitchen cabinets. It’s a great place to keep potatoes, apples, lemons, limes etc.
My cleaning plan for today: clean myself 🛁😉 Don't know what it is, but I think/work better when I'm freshly showered ... after that's done I'll sort out some clothes for charity, really need a clean and clear head for that. 😉
