HOLIDAY HORSE RIDING
What's better than a holiday?...Going for not only one, but two horse rides whilst on holiday!
Come with us to Crete, Greece as we experience two very different but both great rides in their own ways.
Day 1: Our first Hack, we went for a lovely leisurely ride around the local olive fields, said hello to a few locals working the fields and we had a few trots. Moms Horse was doing Spanish Walk and Dad even tried and few bouncy Up, Downs...sadly no video evidence to prove it.
Day 2: We went with a different company for a 2 hour sunset ride up the mountains. This was very different to the "Riding School" type horses you often get at places like this and so 20 of us set off up the mountains with several helpful guides where, unfortunately not with video evidence, things got a bit dicey...Dad nearly went over the cliff as his horse had the sudden urge to scratch on the olive trees, Mom and Milla's horses were not the friendliest towards each other. A few kicks, bites and unrequested trots later from Mom and Milla's Horses and we were soon at the top of the mountain to enjoy some Fruit and a Drink. The return journey from the mountain was in pitch darkness, with just the methodical clip clop of horse shoes to follow as we headed towards the stables. We were then really looked after with a fabulous evening meal and some well earned homemade wine before being driven back to our hotel.
Two wonderful experiences to top off a fabulous Holiday. We Hope you enjoy what we were able to capture whilst all spending the activities together as a family.
