@@KrytoRift , This recording, like most other recordings of this song, just does not come close to the style most people understand as "punk rock". I didn't coin the term, "punk rock", and I would be hard-pressed to offer a good definition of it. Nevertheless, from the so-called punk rock I've been exposed to, I have observed very little use of backing vocals, vocal harmony, or even melodic lead vocal technique -only screaming. This song, as originally composed & recorded, and as recorded here -and by most other cover artists- prominently features backing vocals which greatly add to the appeal of the song. ·
@@DrChaad well, in all due respect, you are only half right. I've been listening to punk for well over 30 yrs and punk doesn't have a defining sound. Some bands are more basic than others but if you listen to bands like snuff, dead milkmen or rancid, you'll see what I mean.
This is a bonafide punk band that also covers this song and I can attest to this because I know them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AuPINusmA00.html
That's fair. I meant moreso "pop punk" but that's even a stretch lol. I try not to get too caught up on labels, I just throw in the genres other people have told me they heard!
